You cannot change font size in the app

You cannot change font size in the app. Support directs you to someone that you have to pay in addition for paying for the app who has expertise in changing the code to make the fonts readable. Will never buy from them again.

Our themes are designed with customizable settings within Shopify’s theme editor, but advanced modifications like custom font sizing may require coding expertise, which falls outside our standard support scope as outlined in the policies listed on our website.

We recommend verified customers contact our support team directly for assistance, and for advanced setup or help with customizations, consulting a Shopify Expert is often advised.

I will never buy anything from these developers again

The demo store built with Pixel Union's Superstore theme looks good, but in reality, the theme is riddled with bugs.
1. Tag filtering on collection pages breaks when a user goes from page 1 to page 2. Contacted their support, and they verified that it was a bug and just told me to wait for a theme update. Maybe they will grace us with fixing a critical bug.
2. The videos added to the product page media get bugged and are impossible to play. Support verified that it's a bug. Same as above.
3. Finally, I recently asked Pixel Union to apply a couple of simple, basic changes to my theme (that other theme developers have done quickly and easily for me), and they told me that I have to separately pay for a developer to make these basic fixes.
Save your money. The theme's quality and Pixel Union support will disappoint you. It's not worth 300 dollars. I will never buy anything from these developers again.

For clarity, all known bugs that are store breaking, meaning the customers are unable to checkout, are patched up by our technical team during the support interaction.

For all non-store breaking bugs, these are addressed through scheduled updates aligned with Shopify’s platform changes and quality standards.

All features and functionality seen in any of our demo stores can be configured directly via the Shopify Theme Editor, which means that there is no customizations or additional development needed to achieve a desired look seen in a demo store.

Support is available to merchants with a valid license as per the support policy published on our website. Support does not cover customizations, third-party apps, or functionality outside the theme’s documented features, as outlined in our Support Policy.

Good design, worst customer service.

Unresolved issues with almost non-existent customer service. I'm writing this review here since my request to resolve the issue on my website have been not resolved in 4 days. We are a loyal customer of Pixel Union. We used their theme for 2+ years and decided to purchase their Atlantic premium theme . We encountered a problem on our mobile version, our hamburger menu not showing, which is a major issue especially for our customers who wanted to browse our products on their mobile phone. I have emailed the team, but the only answer I get is from Derek who said the team will 'checking' this issue 'soon' once they have granted a permission to access our website. And guess what, when we checked on our admin, they haven't access our website to check our issue :/

Our support team typically responds within 1–3 business days and requires permission to access stores to investigate issues properly as noted in the support policies on our website.

If a collaborator access request was sent, we require confirmation once it has been accepted as we are not automatically notified when this is completed. This would be advised in the reply sent by the support agent once the request is sent from our end.

Been waiting for Three days for a…

Been waiting for Three days for a response from Pixel Union regarding images on Pacific. The only response we have so far, is from "Myles" saying they will be in touch and not to submit additional tickets or else we would go to back of the line. Our site is down because of this issue. I would recommend not buying from a third party as you will get stuck between Shopify and the so called "Partner"

No Technical Support

Pixel union has good templates. I have Empire template for my own Shopify store.

But take care because the technical support is very very slow.

So if you have your own developer, you can go with them, otherwise you have to think

Unresolved theme issues

I'm writing this review here since the review I wrote on their website never got published or was deleted. We are a loyal customer of Pixel Union. We used their Wholesale app for 6+ years and decided to purchase their premium theme Superstore. That was the worst decision we made.

Since the day the theme was online our wholesale customers were not able to go to the checkout anymore. It was random, some customers could, some didnt. Pixel Union support failed to find the issue and now, two months later, we are loosing orders, money and customers because of it. On a weekly base we have customers emailing or calling us that they can not place an order. They get frustrated and we can't blame them, it's 2021 and making a simple online order is not possible. It's ridiculous!

The only answer we get from Pixel Union support is that they can't replicate so it must be a customer issue. This is crazy if you see the amount of customers having this issue.

I would strongly advise not to work with Pixel Union for now and for sure not to purchase the Superstore theme or Wholesale club app until they resolved the issues.

For clarity, the B2B Wholesale Hub app (formerly Wholesale Club) is no longer affiliated with Pixel Union and is supported by Orbit apps.

Our themes and apps are tested to meet Shopify’s standards, but issues can sometimes arise due to specific store configurations or third-party integrations, as per the policies found on our website.

Awful

Awful. The theme we purchased and use from them all of a sudden has a huge bug. When sorting by Newest product on any category it only lists half the products. The other half of the page is blank. Horrible experience for a customer.

I contact Pixel Union support. Takes forever for them to respond. And finally when they do, they blamed it on an app on my page. The app was removed and the problem still persisted. Pixel Union then confirms it's a bug in their theme. That it would be fixed with an update in a week.

A week later, nothing. I contact them again..Wait days for them to respond. Finally they do and say there is no timetable in sight for them to fix this problem. That it's a much larger problem than they realized (duh!) and it will take much more time.

Just horrible. We're going to switch themes and get away from anything having to do with this developer. Awful support, buggy themes..No thanks!

Waste of Money

Bought a theme for $180, you can customize very little and they don't help if you have any questions or problems. it's a waste of your money!

For clarity, our themes are premium products designed for long-term use on the Shopify platform and are actively maintained to align with Shopify’s technical standards.

If a feature request falls outside current theme capabilities, this is passed along to our development team but may not be addressed immediately.

For any features, customizations, or functionalities that are essential for your store and need to be implemented immediately, we recommend working with a Shopify Expert.

This includes, but is not limited to, any theme customizations that cannot be configured within the Theme Editor that are outside of the theme's builtin functionality, and any third party app implementation, troubleshooting, or customization.

Stay away..

Stay away... Bought the theme Empire, and i has HUGE load times on some categories. They refuse to help, keep telling me i need to wait for an update, and that the issue i have is out of their scope... A plain install has the same speed issues, and they won't help me. What a waste of 180$. Stay away from these guys, they do not care, once you have paid. They would rather waste time discussing than helping, and they really don't read your emails, they just do a fast rundown, and answer what they think is in your email, which makes the support process even more frustrating.

For clarity, our themes are built to meet Shopify’s development standards and are successfully used by thousands of merchants across varied store setups.

Requirements, however, are not to be confused with optimizations.

We are here to support the built-in functionality of the theme, but are not able to troubleshoot any performance issues caused by customizations or help with SEO optimization. For these types of concerns, we recommend working with a Shopify Expert who can tailor a plan specific to your store’s industry.

It’s also important to note that the Empire theme includes lazy-loading for a faster user experience, but online speed tests do not recognize this feature so the displayed results are not always indicative of the actual performance.
