If you are planning to gift or have a surprise idea, please consider discussing with them for the packaging. The engagement ring is beautiful, no doubt about it. However, you almost ruined the entire surprise by blasting me with ads everywhere—texts, emails, Facebook, Reddit—before I even had the chance to propose. You really should make an exception in cases like this. Maybe ask the buyer of an engagement ring when they plan to propose so you can hold off on targeted ads until afterward.
If she had seen those ads, I would have been absolutely enraged. It would’ve spoiled a moment I worked hard to plan. The ring is amazing, but this part of the experience was extremely stressful.
