The staff were knowledgeable about the product and took the time to answer my telephone queries during my testing process.
May be an idea to have a quick guide to testing appliances (for beginners like me) eg class 1 items, where to find an alternate earth when the first one doesn’t work.

WinsPATS for dummies
New equipment purchased.
Difficulties with installation of the WinPat app and subsequent user issues.
The Tablet supplied went through upgrades when initially turned on (usual)
The app was downloaded, but would not operate correctly, because the tablet required even more upgrades.
Frustration lead to me un-installing the app and restarting the tablet approximately 4 times over 24 hours to remove any glitches with the keyboard and Google interface.
I was following the video guide, Business registration etc
Some of the U-Tube videos don't have sound!
A simple tip on set-up may have included that if you are the only user, set you up as the admin to ensure editing of jobs, sites and customers is seamless.
Appliance Testing Equipment staff were very easy to talk to, but even the tech assist had issues with the software.

Thanks for taking the time to share this, we can definitely understand how frustrating that setup process would’ve been.
Just to clarify, the issues you’ve described are all related to the WinPATS software and tablet setup. That software (along with the app, updates, and any setup videos) is developed and managed by Wavecom Instruments, rather than something we provide or control directly.
That said, when you’ve just purchased new equipment, it all feels like one experience — so we completely understand your frustrating. We’re glad our team was able to assist where possible, even though the software itself sits outside our scope.
If you do need a hand moving forward, we’re always happy to help guide you in the right direction.
