I have purchased an autographed poster from postermemorabilia.com. I seem to be the typical victim of counterfeit memorabilia. I'm a non-collector trying to give a meaningful and valuable gift to a family member. I shopped on eBay before buying from poster memorabilia.com. While priced higher than eBay, in retrospect the price was too good to be true. There was even a coupon code. There is a promise of a reputable COA from PSA Beckett or OA. Only after shopping separately for sports memorabilia did I come across information regarding forgeries. My heart sank. I received the poster, nicely packaged with professional looking care instructions, and a COA. The COA was not from PSA or Beckett but from OA as described on a review site as always being the COA received from postermemorabilia.com. One reviewer believed OA to be disreputable. The poster was not signed in the same locations or with the same style of signatures as depicted on the website images. They did not match other examples of the individuals' signatures found on the Internet. They were all done with what seemed to be the same marker and pressure. I searched the web and found a reddit thread, a blowoutforums review thread, a jamiesblog with only one entry describing the greatness of postermemorobilia.com, a movieblvd review site with only one entry describing the the same, and a link to a page on the postermemorobilia.com site describing how they are not a scam. I did purchase via PayPal and requested a refund for a counterfeit product. I was granted a full refund by True Icon (how postermemorobilia.com was billed to PayPal) within a few hours.
