RAKQ has an impressive list of South African wineries on its books... some world famous like Kanonkop and Meerlust and some which are new to me but well worth exploring. The extensive notes on both individual wines and the wineries are very helpful. My order had a small problem but this was handled promptly and has now arrived safely. Cheers!

The taste of Chardonnay was good
The taste of Chardonnay was good. Bought it for my son who is stopping drinking alcohol. He found it too sweet which is often with de-alcolised wine so I drank it.

I’m delighted to hear that your Lautus De-Alcoholised Chardonnay arrived safely and that you were able to enjoy it with your son.
While it’s a pity that you didn’t feel the wine quite merited a five-star rating, we do hope that our service itself was worthy of five stars.
We appreciate your comment regarding the sweetness of the wine — this is a common characteristic of many de-alcoholised wines. Alcohol contributes significantly to a wine’s body and structure, so when it is removed, additional body is often achieved through a small increase in residual sugar.
That said, we personally believe that Lautus stands out as producing the finest de-alcoholised wines currently coming out of South Africa, and it would certainly earn five stars from us.
