I would give RBC Wealth Management a minus 5 stars if I could.

I am really frustrated. This has been three months of frustration and nonsense.
RBC Wealth Management is the unhelpful company I have ever dealt with. RBC Wealth Management goes out of their way to make things hard. Every time I tried to move with RBC Wealth Management they came up with another problem. Some technical issue, some policy some excuse that did not make sense.
I lost a $9,800 because of RBC Wealth Management being stubborn. This was money that I should not have had to spend. When I asked RBC Wealth Management why their complaint department gave me insulting responses: "This is just the way it is." There was no reason. There was no care. It was just RBC Wealth Management being arrogant.
Meanwhile Charles Schwab, Wells Fargo and Morgan Stanley all handled the problem quickly and actually helped me.. Rbc Wealth Management? After three months RBC Wealth Management did nothing. RBC Wealth Management ignored me. RBC Wealth Management made me feel like I was begging for my money.
Rbc Wealth Management has the nerve to call themselves helpers for their clients? What a joke. A helper is supposed to put the client. RBC Wealth Management puts their rules first.
The frustration and pain that RBC Wealth Management put me through was unbelievable. I could not sleep. I felt cheated, disrespected and powerless.
I am thankful I reached out to pomaadvisory. They helped me get back what RBC Wealth Management refused to do. Without pomaadvisory I would have lost thousands with nothing to show for it.
Rbc Wealth Management itself? Shame on RBC Wealth Management. Never again. If you care about your money or your sanity stay away, from RBC Wealth Management.

NOT Trustworthy - Carol Fickling out only for herself!

Carol Fickling was not trustworthy. I spoke to her when I transferred over to her services and told her I would take a very 'back-seat' to her senior experience and skills. Without proper notice or reason (other than she had a position advancement) - she cashed in all my investments - many RRSP's leaving me with a tax debt and I happened to be overseas and unreachable therefore found out with nothing I could do. She selfishly took care of herself and trashed clients along the way. All looks caring and kind until the money is on the table for her! UNFORTUNATE for those, like myself, that were referred and told I could trust her!

great way to throw money away

failed to beat inflation over 25 years (by a good 30% or so), says it all really. they exist to eat your gains with fees and fight tooth and nail to stop you from cashing out. awful non-transparent structure.

If I could I would give RBC a MINUS 5…

If I could I would give RBC a MINUS 5 stars -- most unhelpful, rigid and useless company I have ever dealt with. They go out of their way to create obstacles to letting the client achieve its goals and only throw up roadblocks and technical details. Dealing with RBC compliance and complaint department was a waste of time....in fact, really insulting and stupid responses (this is the way it is - even if it makes no sense or costs the client and extra $10,000 that did not need to be spent:) - Charles Schwab, Wells Fargo and Morgan Stanley managed to handle the same problem promptly, in a client-friendly manner - RBC after 3 months has gone backward and done nothing. Calling themselves "fiduciaries" for their clients is a joke at RBC

Stay far away from rbc

To my understanding I paid for financial planning-- 18 months later no plan--- took money and invested. 18 months later adviser had no tweaks to suggest---- I should have picked up on what I was dealing with when the advisor fee in meeting and the one that appeared on paper work was different. Find an honest place to manage your finances and plan for your future.

Excessive account verification interrogation process

I spoke with a ''Lisa'' Royal Bank of Canada Mutual Funds & Registered Plans since around 10:39 this morning on Feb 4, 2025 intending to open up a TFSA & make some RSP contribution. We all aware that we must go through a routine account verification process which NORMALLY involves 1-2 security questions. After providing correct answers to 2 such questions, I became increasingly annoyed when this Lisa person asking how much money I have with an account. I offered my answer quite uncomfortably & feeling quite unnecessary & offended by this sort of hugely personal & sensitive questions.

This Lisa person did not stop there & proceeded to security question number 4. I became more upset & agitated about this sort of interrogation type of questioning after over 30 years using this RBC account.
I started raising my voice but said nothing insulting or using inappropriate language. I said to Lisa that usually no more than 2 much less sensitive such questions are involved & WHY THIS LISA PERSON HAS 4 OR EVEN MORE COMING AFTER for me.

Lisa, ignored my complaint & said she could not help me further (MORE THAN INTERROGATING ME!) as I WAS NOT '' COOPERATING '' WITH HER (INTEGRATION). She hang up on me before I could finish telling her to connect me with a supervisor

I called right back & requested a ''Laura'' that I needed to speak with a supervisor. This Laura person not only kept repeating what she had told me a few times already but also making me repeat my quite negative customer service experience multiple times. When I asked for her last name which she said to me in the very beginning, she refused & said she was '' uncomfortable'' giving me her last name again.
I felt increasingly agitated with Laura's repeating explanation about their security process & seemingly failure to understand or comprehend my relative uncomplicated complaint against ''Lisa''

I feel that these RBC associates have lots of room to upgrade their listening & report writing capability in addition to proper customer service related skills. It is more or less a pure chance if you happen to have a relatively well-mannered & patient customer service person ANYWHERE WITH WHOEVER BUSINESS IN MY OWN PERSONAL EXPERIENCE ALL MY LIFE.

Consequently, whether you are getting positive or negative customer service experience is 60% who answers your call/40% which business/office you call. Good luck, everyone!

RBC Dominion Security is not worth

They put most money in RBC mutual funds, with high MER at around 1% plus an additional 1% management fee charge. They don't tell you the truth, lack transparency and have not been forthcoming with important information. They see you as fools. Not being responsible. It's a mistake to put money in their hands.

Stay away from this Bank

Stay away from this Bank, and especially Ali Sekandari, my commercial banker. My business, Mile Public House, directly across the street from my branch, has been a loyal customer for the past 12 years. Yet for some reason, it is absolutely impossible to reach my banker Ali Sekandari. For the past 3 weeks, I have left multiple messages, sent emails, called dozens of times, and still no answer. Worst customer service ever. This man is useless and should be fired.
