Extremely poor support

I’m extremely disappointed with the level of support provided by this company. For the second time, a visual element related to their widget has appeared unexpectedly and randomly on our website, severely disrupting the layout and directly affecting our user experience and sales performance.

What’s even more frustrating is the lack of urgency on their side. This issue has now been live for nearly 48 hours, and we are still without a proper fix. Despite repeatedly flagging the problem and stressing how critical it is to our business, we’ve received no meaningful updates today, not even a basic acknowledgment or timeline. I’ve had to chase them multiple times, and each time I get the same vague response, with no real sign of progress.

For a company offering tools that integrate directly into customer-facing websites, this level of support is unacceptable. Issues like this demand immediate attention, not delays stretching over several days with no communication. I’m honestly shocked by how unprofessional and unresponsive their support has been. If your website performance and reliability matter to you, I would strongly caution against relying on them.

ReCharge falls short of expectations…

ReCharge falls short of expectations for a platform designed for digital subscriptions. Its lack of essential features, poor support, and limited customization capabilities make it a frustrating and inefficient experience. I would not recommend this platform to businesses seeking a reliable and user-friendly solution for managing digital subscriptions.

Worst Experience!

Please do not sign any contract with them! Even if the app is not suitable or does not have the functionality needed, they would not let you come out of the contract. We did not even use their service and they billed us $19,000 CAD even after explaining to them the app does not fit our needs.
Complete scam!!!!

Scam, stay far away

Scam. Stay away. Refuses to let you use Shopify Payments. When you try to switch from then they don’t answer for months. Don’t use this service. Go with another one to manage your subscription.

There are penalties for yearly fixed priced plans

We have used Recharge for about 2 years. During Year 1 their customer service was terrible and we had to pretty much fend for ourselves but at that time we only had a few thousand subscriptions so it wasn't too bad. Then we were approached by Recharge to get a yearly contract with a fixed fee. This sounded great so we did it. After 7 months we outgrew their estimate so we received a note from the sales team congratulating us on our growth and letting us know we now owed them the total contract value for the remaining months as well as needed to sign up for a new yearly plan. We pushed back as a success penalty is not great for a partnership. Our recommendation was they simply provide us a new yearly plan based on our volume and we would start paying this. After going back and forth and getting no where we decided to migrate to Loop Subscriptions. As soon as recharge saw the lack of revenue hit their engine they reached out and miraculously told us they were now willing to waive our remaining fees and put us on a new yearly plan. To us that was not genuine and too little too late. Not to mention the fact that their flow functionality and analytics engines are well behind Loop Subscriptions' offering. All this being said, I would recommend evaluating other subscription vendors.

Horrible response time

Horrible response time! Sent 6 emails starting Sep 20 at 07:48 am and no response! This is an on-going issue. You have an issue and it takes ages to get a response!

Recharge Subscriptions has made our business better

Recharge Subscriptions has been an intricate part of our Shopify store and business. This app allows us to do everything and anything we need to manage subscription orders while providing the customer with the best experience possible. Recharge does a great job of putting subscription management in the customer's hands with tools like Recharge SMS to reduce churn. We have been very pleased with their capability to consistently optimize features and ensure integrations work with other key technology partners. I use their analytics frequently and their reporting platform is seamless. I could not be happier with Recharge and would highly recommend it for offering your customers the best subscription experience.

A must have subscription tool

Recharge has been instrumental in the growth of my business, in just shy of 4 months of integration, I've grown over 2,000%. Starting out with this app required development to integrate within Bigcommerce and allow for a smooth experience for the end user. There is a dedicated customer integration and success team that kept me updated everyday through Slack (amazing!) about how things were progressing and it was done in 1-2 weeks. The features and analytics that this app provides is next to none when it comes to subscription platforms. From top shipping and email integrations to customer metrics, I always know where my business stands. Above all else, the support I receive from their technical team is almost immediate. I couldn't ask for a better experience from ReCharge, which is frankly more than an app, it's the backbone of my subscription business.

False Promises

Trying to use Recharge on our new Shopify site however you have now told us you can't migrate our existing customers subscriptions and nor can you tell us when this function will be open again. REALLY poor customer service

Significant issues are left unresolved
We have an integration with Rise.ai and we have flagged many times that there are some significant issues with the way recharge has set it up. We flagged this to Rise as well. They are aware of it and explained that many customers are experiencing the same issue and that recharge can easily make a plan to make the integration work smoother.

However, as it turns out they are not prioritising this leaving ourselves and many other merchants to their mercy.

What is this issue? We have a subscription business, obviously. Recharge works with one integration only for gift cards, which is rise.ai. When customers receive a gift card and we need to correctly register it, recipients need to give in credit card details in check-out, which to many is a serious issue. I have flagged and flagged this numerous times, I know for a fact other merchants have too and they refuse to do something about it. Not taking any responsibility. It has led to so much manual work and inconvenient workarounds that we have come to a point where we actually can't scale if we keep using recharge.

I'm currently looking at other options than recharge, because gifting is a major part of our income and their refusal to remove this UX obstacle is revenue-impacting.

Abysmal customer support

Abysmal customer support, considering a business critical support there is ZERO support.

They do not have any phone support, which mean you are waiting several hours for a reply which may well be useless.

We have lost £1000's as a small business, all whilst waiting for them to respond to emails.
