After my last review, I decided I’d give their other gummy flavors a try. My first order of gummies from Rec8 was for one package of their berry flavored gummies. Their berry gummies were fantastic (and you can read my review of them by clicking my profile or scrolling down), so I was excited when I received my second shipment of Rec8 gummies late last year, which consisted of their lemon, green apple, and peach flavors (plus a courtesy sample pack containing all four gummy flavors). All jars contained a total of 400 mg delta-8-THC, as advertised, with twenty individual gummies per container, so 20 mg delta-8-THC per gummy.

Review:
After trying each of them, my flavor preferences are as follows: Berry still takes the cake for me—no flavor like it exists in this specific market. In second place is peach. I have to admit, that my immediate impression upon first tasting it was so-so. After a few chews, however, the peach flavor begins to stand out, and it’s mighty pleasant. In third place is green apple. This is a safe flavor that is seemingly universal with hemp gummies, and it’s easy to imagine why: it does a good job of attenuating the bitterness of terpenes and cannabinoids. Lemon takes the bottom spot for me. I could use the word “tolerable” here, but I don’t want to imply it’s necessarily bad. It’s fine if you like the flavor of Lemon Drop hard candies after sucking on them for twenty minutes. I particularly do not, but I can tolerate it just fine. Don’t let my bias dissuade you from trying lemon out though.

In terms of efficacy, there was no perceptible difference between any of the gummies. This is important to note, as consistency between individual edibles can vary a lot between producers even amongst products in the same package. Rec8’s consistency can be conveniently verified since they make the laboratory analysis and quality results for each new product batch readily available to customers on their website and by including a QR code on their packaging. Just scan the code with your QR-compatible phone or tablet and you’ll automatically be sent to the certified laboratory results for your batch.

Suggestions:
My complaints are fairly minor—perhaps petty even—but are nonetheless worth mentioning: Peach and green apple both have fairly weak flavor profiles. Peach needs more tartness; like, I think if they added straight peach juice it’d do the trick. Green apple needs more sourness; think of the crispness of the apple flavor that comes through in hard apple ciders.* That’s what I imagine an improvement for green apple would do.

[Note: Rec8 now has some delta-10 products. I was not aware of this when I wrote my original review. So to Rec8 people, please disregard the paragraph below]

Also, please consider branching out into other THC isomeric compounds. delta-10 and THC-0 are quickly becoming as popular as delta-8. Don’t want to miss the opportunity to capture a sizable portion of that market, since few legitimate sellers have the kind of reach that Rec8 has across the US. I think the business will explode over night if it did that.

Summary:
If you’ve ever used THC or THC isomer edibles, you’ll know that the quality of the flavors among the gummies vary wildly between producers. Edible hemp products—specifically those related to recreational cannabis and its extracts, including THC and THC isomers—have what can be described as a bitter, earthy flavor. It isn’t necessarily pleasant in isolation—some opinions may differ here, and that’s okay—but the flavor is ubiquitous across all hemp-adjacent edibles, and can actually be quite pleasing when the mix of terpenes and cannabinoids conferring that flavor is right for the product being consumed. I don’t know the details of Rec8’s process, but the way they consistently balance those compounds with the base flavor of their gummies is one of the more impressive aspects of the company that set them apart. I also can’t speak highly enough of their customer service.

Needless to say, I’m very pleased with Rec8. Next up (and hopefully soon): Rec8’s flower, vape, and vape cartridge products.

Everything is great except for the delta 10 product I received (gummies). The shipping was quick and the delta 8 products I received perform as expected. The delta 10 gummies hardly have any effect on me, so I’m thinking I need to try two at one time. Just be forewarned they don’t seem to be very strong.

This is my second time ordering the gummies from Recreational8 and I am very happy with this product and I will order again, I have bought different brands that did not work but these really work very well.

This really really works for my migraines. Plus I don’t need but about 1/4 gummy to knock it out. I already have a daith piercing but sometimes still get one. So glad I found something natural that helps.

My one complaint is that the package took almost 3 days to arrive even though I chose the fastest option. However, this was the fault of USPS, not Rec8 so I will most likely be purchasing from them again.
