Just avoid these guys
Just avoid these guys - particularly their ‘subscriptions’. Total waste of time.
I signed up to their quarterly One Piece - Booster Box subscription package in January of this year. The description read that I would be charged on a quarterly basis and receive a booster box each quarter! Great! It had a list of the boxes I would receive in order - OP15, OP16, OP17 etc. making clear that my first box would be OP15. I was charged immediately - all good. Happy to have a subscription in place so I don’t have to worry every release where I’m going to source a box from.
Following the release of OP15, I emailed to check when it would be posted. On 2 April I received a
Message saying:
“Hi,
To clarify your One Piece subscription will ship OP16 released in June onwards.
We acknowledge that the description should have been clearer upfront in stating that this would ship OP16 onwards (not OP15 onwards as could have been inferred).
You will not be charged for your next subscription (OP17) until after OP16 is shipped.”
Firstly, just own it - if you didn’t get the allocation you wanted, or you oversold your ‘subscriptions’ just say so. Saying something ‘should have been clearer’ is just a lie - it was clear that OP15 was first in line and that isn’t being dispatched. Fine, whatever - I’ll wait for OP16 - still happy to have a subscription from them on.
Today I was charged for my second quarterly instalment (note - no boxes received yet). I emailed to ask whether that was in error as I had been informed I wouldn’t be charged until OP17 release for the second. I received an ‘order update’ email which changed my ordinal order description from:
Order summary
One Piece TCG: Booster Box Quarterly Subscription x 1
To:
Updated order
One Piece TCG: Surprise Box Subscription × 1
And a follow up email saying:
Please note your One Piece subscription is for the "Surprise Box". Please refer to the product description for details... Hopefully this sounds great if not please let us know and we'll cancel your subscription & issue a refund :)
No, it doesn’t sound great - 12 unknown packs from unsealed product and some other unnamed items does not sound great.
Also, to again act like this is somehow not their problem and something I’ve missed is honestly bewildering!
If you can’t fulfill orders, own it, apologise and move on - don’t make out like it’s your customers fault. Customers who signed up to a quarterly subscription with your business.
Also 0 updates on 2 other orders made months ago. Will likely have to request a chargeback from my credit card provider.
Honestly, just avoid. A total waste of time.
