Reinforced Beds are a family run, online only retailer specialising in very strong beds and durable mattresses based in the UK. Our collection consists of heavy-duty frames constructed from the strongest materials. The range include wooden bed frames, metal bed frames, upholstered beds (including bedsteads, ottomans and divans) and bunk beds.
Our stock is suitable for both domestic and contract customers. We have supplied products to many different environments, such as large hotel chains, student accommodation refits and to the NHS direct to name a few.
Due to the build quality of our products, we have a wide selection suitable for people who are overweight and/or suffer from challenging behaviour. These products have been sourced and designed with the aim to be the solution for customers who require them most.
As well as an online retailer, we take great care in our products. As well as sourcing reliable and fantastic manufacturers to create our beds, we also manufacture select metal beds on site here in Norfolk! We also import some products directly to us, built to our own spec from overseas.

Abysmal Customer Service & Sales Tactics
I recently tried to purchase a Langham HD Triple Bunk Bed in Oak from this company at £499.00. Their website clearly stated “FREE UK DELIVERY”. I went through the ordering process and at the checkout the delivery showed £30.00. I could not remove it so I contacted the company via online chat. I explained the situation that they had advertised free delivery but were not offering it at the checkout. I asked them as a gesture of goodwill to remove the delivery charge as I had clearly been mislead by their website. They refused my request and changed the website to “Premium 2 Man Couriers” as we chatted. When I asked why they would not honour what their website offered their reply was “We do not do free delivery” I had already checked on Amazon and the same company was selling the exact same product for exactly the same price but with FREE DELIVERY! When I pointed this out to them whilst on chat, at first they denied that it was the same price and then in real time, they changed the Amazon listing price to £509.00 for this item in Oak. Fortunately, I had placed my order for this item on Amazon BEFORE their sudden price increase. I expressed my disappointment in the way that they dealt with this matter, but they were not interested in doing the right thing for the customer.
Unfortunately when the item arrived from Amazon they had described the wooden slats as “HEAVY-DUTY 29MM WOODEN SLATS – Equipped with extra-thick 29mm solid wooden slats” but the slats thickness that I measured with a Vernier Caliper were between 19.81mm and 22mm and they were made out of plywood and NOT solid wood. I complained and asked them to supply the slats that they had advertised but they refused simply stating “the slats that you have received are fit for purpose” I said that was not the point as I had bought this item based on the slats being 29mm thick and had received slats two thirds of that thickness. A full refund was offered if I dismantled the bed, carried it down 2 flights of stairs and sent it back in their original packaging. I was not going to be put to this trouble so I asked them to offer me a “good will” gesture of a partial refund to compensate me for what I paid for but did not receive. At first they refused but when Amazon got involved they eventually sent me a derisory refund of £15.00. I advised that I was not at all satisfied with this refund on a £499.00 item, but as before they were not interested. I decided to stop wasting any more of my life with this atrocious company but wanted to share my full and honest experience with others, so that if you decide to trade with them, you have been forewarned. I would strongly advise against it.

We take feedback seriously, but we do need to correct a number of points in your review as it does not accurately reflect the situation.
Firstly, regarding delivery. We do not offer free delivery on large items such as triple bunk beds that require a 2-man delivery service. This is clearly stated on our website. The £30 charge you saw at checkout is for a specialist room-of-choice delivery service, not a standard parcel delivery.
At the time of your enquiry, we had recently updated our smaller item delivery from free to £7.50 for 1-man courier services, and our team were in the process of updating wording across the site. This is why you may have briefly seen conflicting messaging. However, your order would not have qualified for free delivery in any case due to the size and handling requirements of the product.
In relation to Amazon, the pricing structure is different. Delivery is built into the product price, which is why it appears as “free delivery.” This is standard practice across marketplaces and not a like-for-like comparison with direct website pricing.
Regarding the slats, the product you received is manufactured to our specifications and is tested for strength and durability. The bed is designed to be robust and fit for purpose, which is the key requirement. The difference you are referring to does not affect the structural integrity or performance of the bed.
You were offered a full return and refund, which is the correct and fair resolution when a customer is not satisfied with a product. As a gesture of goodwill, and following Amazon’s involvement, a partial refund of £15 was issued, which you accepted. This is in line with the nature of the concern raised.
We do not accept that we have misled you, nor that the product is unsuitable. We fulfilled the order correctly and offered appropriate resolutions throughout.

You will need the topper!
The service from this provider was rather odd, with little direct communication.
The bed was sold with an option to purchase a bed topper, which should have tipped me off to how firm the mattress was! A brick is the right description, and a topper is definitely needed.
The mattress is very solid and well made and good value for money.

The bed was fine but.
Problems with the under bed storage units.
The threads on the base frame castor attachment bushes were very tight, to the extent it was almost impossible to fully insert the castor. Consequently he spanner which was supplied to attach the castors was useless.

Purchased "The Brick with pillow top"…
Purchased "The Brick with pillow top" ordering, updates, delivery all very easy, simple, no hassle and professional.
The mattress is honestly a dream. I'm 43 this year and always been a big lad. Doesn't seem to matter if you buy a cheap mattress from Argos, an expensive one from the big retailers, or even a mid range brand from an independent. They have all been rubbish. Easy to crush sat on the edge of the bed, dipping in the middle with zero support, springs not actually doing anything or indeed the usual rubbish pedalled about memory foam being an alternative.
I saw an advert on Facebook from another "handmade British mattress company " I contacted them and had a swift reply "We can't offer you any of our products suitable for a heavier guy, but we know who can. Give Reinforced Beds a try here is a link"
With that useful and honest interaction I thought, fair play, couldn't help me, didn't want to get a sale and screw me, he's given me hope and direction. I followed the link to the brick, read all the reviews but went for the pillow top for a bit of extra comfort in the hope I can't feel springs sticking in my back or sides.
Honestly, not disappointed. Very happy. Very comfortable and stable, supportive and I feel I can sleep well again for the first time since I was little.
I can't stress how important for your health sleep is. Lack of sleep has serious knock on effects to your daily life and mental health. Waking up rested and fresh should be a given not a luxury. If you're at the end of your tether with your mattress this could well be the answer to your problems.

Very long delay in delivery which was…
Very long delay in delivery which was not stated on the website at time of purchase. Being told it was being delivered one week, then being told a further delay by an additional week. In total waiting 4 weeks for the mattress.
Mattress arrived and was extremely uncomfortable for the user. No option of return, partial refund or any offers. Cost over £600. Very disappointed.

We completely understand how frustrating it is to be given revised delivery timeframes, and we sincerely apologise for the inconvenience caused.
We are also sorry to hear that the mattress has not met your comfort expectations. The anti-vandal mattress you purchased is specifically designed to be firmer than standard mattresses, as it is built to withstand more demanding and challenging environments. This construction can feel noticeably different compared to a typical domestic mattress.
In terms of returns, once a mattress has been opened and used, we are unable to accept it back due to hygiene regulations. This is outlined within our returns policy on the website.
We do appreciate your feedback, as it helps us improve both our communication and product guidance moving forward.
