There is a rule against proselytizing.

There is a rule against proselytizing.
To sum up the the forum,
"This is a debate forum where you are not allowed to try and change anyone's mind or convince anyone that you are right."
*Also the staff that enforce the rules are very one sided. So long as you are a part of their paradigm they are very lenient on the rules, but if you are not a part of their paradigm they are very strict and want to get rid of you.

Was almost OK but now trash

Was OK, but now I'm never going back.
It's a wonderful place to bash religions,
it really should be called Irreligiousforums
Stay away from this toxic wasteland of trolls
Unless you're a atheist troll, in which case the
staff will LOVE you.

Irony

The only religious discussion, allowed on that website, is atheism. It's a website, that prevents like-minded, spiritual-minded people, from sharing and exploring ideas.

Religious Forums - Biased debate forum

This is labeled a religious forum that would be great except for the biased moderators on staff. For example you’re not allowed to share that you know God, how the Scriptures are true and reliable, how by observation of our current world lines up with reality. This was in response to a person saying where is the reality?
Atheists and unbelievers are permitted to blaspheme and push preach their views continuously, this is a site geared to liberal ungodly views in the debate section of the forum, the only views for Covid for example were the CDC and Vaccine only views, other articles were discouraged and taken down by moderators. If you were in a conversation with someone and you were debating an alternative to a liberal viewpoint they would warn you and take down your post. The rules of debating are skewed and not a fair playing field so be aware of that.
Some areas of the site are directly for certain faiths.
Over all the moderators ruin the site due to their bias and control. Need new moderators otherwise it’s not a very good debating forum.

Poes, Socks, and Trolls

I've been a longtime lurker, and will not be returning. Everyone on staff has multiple sock accounts, including many other longtime members. They use this to regularly push member's hot buttons to get them to react in the ways that the forum staff desires.

Troll palace all the way. Stay away if you are religious. Stay away if you're not. The hills have eyes, and they are watching.

I have been posting on RF for nearly…

I have been posting on RF for nearly four years and a couple of years ago was asked to join the moderation team. I had never stayed long in any forum before RF. To have a forum where most things within reason can be discussed including diverse aspects of religion, is not easy thing to achieve. There’s a core group of members that are really committed to making it work and there are frequent opportunities for members to feedback how the forum can be improved. We have people from all round the world from diverse backgrounds, religions and professions.

RF isn’t for everyone. I’ve learnt a great deal from varied discussions and met some great people.

KAT's thoughts

I think RF is a positive site for people looking for fellowship and discussion of religion. I think the staff does genuinely care about posters. I made almost 10,000 posts on the forum and with for the most part little issue. I eventually decided that I prefer gaming and computer hardware forums, however. It has to do with the structure of the forum and how it's set up and other things. And I don't really care to get into all the details of it, but for most, it's like the question of whether they like chocolate or vanilla ice cream. Most are fine with either. Some really want vanilla or vice versa. I kind of look for highly specific ways to spend my time and I'm usually kind of unhappy if I were to say, spend 5, 10, even 15, years doing the same thing.

No longer Nowhere Man

I'm a registered Republican and generally had a poor to fair experience in regards to discussing and debating religious and political oriented topics. It is true they are notably rough on Christians and posters expressing theistic inclinations personally, and even as an atheist, I've noticed this trend.

However the moderation staff and many members have proven to be very biased with the political spectrum and extremely restrictive to anybody who happens to be on the right side of the political aisle with any kind of opposing opinion, especially in regards to controversial and sensitive topics. It's a very very left-leaning forum with little or no tolerance against extreme criticism over controversial subjects.

The moderation poses as fair in terms of mild subject matter spanning various topics and are reasonably patient, but very biased and poor when it comes to sensitive and controversial topics harshly criticizing the political left as well as those topics involving theism.

There is without question an underlying current of ongoing censorship and restriction through their use of deletions, editing, and outright bans on members who post there who differ from the majority who are not on the left side of the aisle. If you are liberal or favor the left side, you will be just fine with religious forums and will likely have a very good time there. If you are on the right, you're going to have a very difficult and hard time expressing your opinions and comments without running into interference.

One thing I noticed in particular since my account was restricted/banned is they don't show publicly that you are restricted/banned, which is what happened to me recently as I could no longer interact anymore.

Unfortunately from how it appears, they let posters who view profiles at religious forums just think you stopped posting with viewers none the wiser as to your disposition, save for the moderation staff, that you were removed from interacting with the forum. I would have rather had a public notation that I was restricted/banned.

When I checked back on my profile as a visitor to double check my profile, it simply looks like I am still a member there.

I would have much rather to have them be honest and straightforward and show publicly that a person was summerly banned. My profile there does not reflect that decision which was disappointing to see. This comes across as extremely deceitful in my opinion under a false pretense of fairness.

Based on my many years that I have spent over at that forum, I eventually came to discover that right-leaning political / theistic conversationalists and debaters are best advised to avoid the site altogether if your intent is to be hypercritical or controversial involving religious and political topics.

Very bad experience

Very bad experience. I joined, and checked all the boxes where I might find material of interest. Got message from moderator that this was not allowed--you had to stay within your faith tradition. What, then, is the point of going on an interfaith site?
I asked for my account to be deleted and the moderator refused. I don't even know if this is legal. I had to settle for a "voluntary ban" which would prohibit me from posting. Not that I would have any interest in doing so!
Definitely a thumbs-down.

My wife was on the site 11 years ago and was having the internet sexual affair with some truck driver and if I didn't step in she was going to meet him amazing that people go on a religious website but then want to cheat on their husbands. he was also married. His excuse for cheating was his wife couldn't have sex due to medical reasons my wife's excuse for wanting to cheat is because she wanted a bigger Penis than mine.

I can't even believe how verbally abusive the moderators were

I can't even believe how verbally abusive four moderators were to me. I made a mistake because I was new to posting in forums which I explained to them. I even referred them to my message of two months previously where I had asked how to post since I had never used a forum before.

So, I wound up with four moderators slamming me. I screen shot the posts then told the moderator online, who was the most abusive of the four, that I had done so. He immediately closed the thread. He knew that I had proof of the wrong doing of him and the other moderators.

They are the worst forum you could ever go to. Please do not go there for your own good. They are not a "friendly" place like they say.

I've been a member for a month now

I've lurked at this site for a week now. This site has been on the net for over 11 years! However, it is not really a forum that shows respect for religion. It's a subsidiary of the Troll-Palace, TOL = Theology OnLine.
And the worst members @ TOL also show up at RF.

The moderators all have multiple sock accounts. If they pose as Christians, called Poe's, they will post contrary to what actual Christian's know and respect as scripture.
If they pose as Atheists, or Agnostics, they're militant in their remarks.

One of the worst sites out there. And I've lurked at many to see what they're like.
My advice, if you're Christian, don't join any forum that isn't Christian oriented. RF doesn't tell you they respect religion, though their mission statement leads you to believe that. They're in business, and it is a business because they make money from supporters, to earn a living, the owner at least, and provide a place where anti-theists can have at the naive religious that are there.

Not a lot of people join RF on a daily basis. The word is obviously getting around.
There's a Real Christian Forums that is very strict against Trolls and Poe's. They did an investigation on fake Christian and religious forums awhile back.
RF and TOL should be added to this list.
Use these keywords in any search engine to find the thread. Now locked.

Religious Forums exists in betrayal of mankind!

The site's mission is to provide a friendly hangout for those of each belief by erecting walls around each one. This segregation comes at a price: namely, the forbidding of knowledge that might contribute to conclusiveness in one belief and thus lead toward unity. I strongly advise against joining this site. You will learn nothing of value and regret time spent there.
