No longer Nowhere Man
I'm a registered Republican and generally had a poor to fair experience in regards to discussing and debating religious and political oriented topics. It is true they are notably rough on Christians and posters expressing theistic inclinations personally, and even as an atheist, I've noticed this trend.
However the moderation staff and many members have proven to be very biased with the political spectrum and extremely restrictive to anybody who happens to be on the right side of the political aisle with any kind of opposing opinion, especially in regards to controversial and sensitive topics. It's a very very left-leaning forum with little or no tolerance against extreme criticism over controversial subjects.
The moderation poses as fair in terms of mild subject matter spanning various topics and are reasonably patient, but very biased and poor when it comes to sensitive and controversial topics harshly criticizing the political left as well as those topics involving theism.
There is without question an underlying current of ongoing censorship and restriction through their use of deletions, editing, and outright bans on members who post there who differ from the majority who are not on the left side of the aisle. If you are liberal or favor the left side, you will be just fine with religious forums and will likely have a very good time there. If you are on the right, you're going to have a very difficult and hard time expressing your opinions and comments without running into interference.
One thing I noticed in particular since my account was restricted/banned is they don't show publicly that you are restricted/banned, which is what happened to me recently as I could no longer interact anymore.
Unfortunately from how it appears, they let posters who view profiles at religious forums just think you stopped posting with viewers none the wiser as to your disposition, save for the moderation staff, that you were removed from interacting with the forum. I would have rather had a public notation that I was restricted/banned.
When I checked back on my profile as a visitor to double check my profile, it simply looks like I am still a member there.
I would have much rather to have them be honest and straightforward and show publicly that a person was summerly banned. My profile there does not reflect that decision which was disappointing to see. This comes across as extremely deceitful in my opinion under a false pretense of fairness.
Based on my many years that I have spent over at that forum, I eventually came to discover that right-leaning political / theistic conversationalists and debaters are best advised to avoid the site altogether if your intent is to be hypercritical or controversial involving religious and political topics.
