I took out a policy for my motorhome costing a little over £300 for 12 months. I sold it after 167 days of the 365 days of cover and was told by Ripe I was not entitled to anyrefund at all on the policy quoting the poicy info. Be mindful of this if you do chose this company. I wont be as Ive used other companies who are happy to refund minus an admin fee.

I understand that Ripe Insurance has recently taken over a really good business GJW Direct and in the process set about absolutely ruining it.
I have been insured with GJW for more than 20 years partly due to the excellent relationship and personal service I have experienced in that time from Debbie Ashton and colleagues.
Now this morning i have tried to send some information to Debbie and the email bounces back. The phone number I have for her no longer connects.
I go on the website and there is no phone number listed so its obvious customers and potential customers have taken a back seat in the priorities.
I'm being forced to use 'live chat' which does'nt understand my simple request for a phone number and then goes on to tell me an agent will get back to me in 15 minutes.
So its very clear to me that some management consultancy or newly hired Director who will be with the business for 2 years before moving on has taken the view to implement a backward step for the business. Cost saving, efficiency, reduced staff numbers - but forgetting that people buy people and people in business make the difference.
I have listened to some of the recorded messages one gets when i finally found a phone number talking about 'giving our customers the best service' and ' collecting information about out customers' ... absolute BS
And now i have received an email from 'Virtual Assistant' asking me to answer some questions before literally pages and pages of script about what i just don't know.
Do you guys even consider how this looks for your business and in a customers eyes - we all HATE IT
No customer wants to be treated this way and for me its very simple if this is the way i will be treated from here on then i will be leaving GJW

In all my life of insuring motor vehicles i have never come across what i have experienced. Months away from my renewal to be told I have something against me to stop me being given a renewal for the next year as I have a claim witch i have not informed on where I have had a year of trouble free motoring. When asked on this, they have failed to give me an explanation as in what, ie a guessing game of the last 5 years of my motoring life that apparently i have failed to remember. Unsure of what this is this could be and trying to figure out my entire life of driving mistakes to be told computer says no and guess again and if I don’t know my policy is void. Being sold insurance what I am trying to figure out has now being invalid all year if this is the case and being bullied to an answer a question i do not know the answer. I could spend a life time guessing and would never know the answer without being told, absolutely ridiculous, shambles in fact. Avoid insuring at all cost utter scammers stay way clear. 😡😡😡😡

Difficulty making changes to the policy on line, changes wouldn’t save. A phone conversation with a team member was necessary, but successful.
