We hired a VW camper for 10 days to drive the NC500 - which everyone should do!! Pick up and drop off from Edinburgh was seamless and Agnes prepared us expertly for our trip ahead. Couple of issues with the van along the way but these things can happen. It’s how a company reacts to them which makes me use them again. One of the internal shelves came unscrewed and the side door became problematic to close at one stage of the journey. Rockin Vans were communicative, responsive and apologetic. This is all that really matters when hiring anything mechanical. Things break, things aren’t perfect but Rockin Vans and Agnes’s reactions to problem solving were of the highest standard. Thank you for making our trip so special.

I have been waiting a year for a refund for the hire of a van which was not fit for purpose and therefore could not be used.

We booked the van in order to attend my sister’s wedding in August last year, however we encountered numerous problems:
- Initially, the pick-up location was incorrectly given due to the closure of one of their outlets, luckily we checked
- It was re-booked to be picked up at Heathrow Airport, which was out of our way
- It was over an hour late arriving at (an unspecified location within) Heathrow Airport
- It had no seat belts in the back, and therefore was illegal to use as a family vehicle with children present (apparently they'd been left in Scotland!)

We had to drive to the wedding without accommodation and had to cancel the holiday we planned following the wedding.
I was frustrated at the numerous errors throughout the process but am furious that we have had to wait a year to be refunded for something that didn’t happen!

BTW - please don't tell me to contact aftercare, I have, many times. Still waiting for a reply to my latest request for an update ...

We used Rockin Vans for our Scotland road trip. We had originally booked in for April and had to postpone due to Covid. They happily moved the dates to next year and then moved them again when we decided last minute to do the road trip at the end of July. They were helpful and accommodating. The van was great. We used the mini Camper which was fab - loads of storage space, comfy bed and a great drive!

Fantastic van experience - cannot fault.
First time camping in a VW Camper, and first time hiring from Rockin Vans - the whole experience was faultless. Van was clean, and equipped far more than we had expected. The handover was sympathetic to the current guidelines around distancing, and the instructions for use were thorough. We set off on our adventure excited and positive. Everything worked as it should, and we had a wonderful family break. The hand-back was smooth and friendly. We are about to book our next trip through them as we now have the campervan bug. Thank you Rockin Vans for such a brilliant first experience! Big thumbs up.

We hired a VW camper in July 2020 for the NC500 and it was brilliant. Absolutely 0 problems.

We picked up the van early, without a problem, we dealt with Agnes who was lovely and very helpful.

Once during the trip we used the telephone number to report a problem we had, this was solved within 2 text messages, great service.

Our £1000 pre-authorisation was un-held after around a week, as expected.

Great customer service, and would 100% use again.

Hired a mid size motor home for 4 nights in July 2020. Agnes couldn't have been more helpful. There was a problem with the van when we arrived as a spare part that had been ordered hadn't been delivered. We had to wait for a bit, but they sorted out an alternative van and gave us some money off. I needed to speak to Agnes a couple of times during the trip for various bits of info... Agnes was always available and helpful. They really tried hard to make things as smooth and as easy for us... explaining everything. I'll definitely be using Rockin Vans again.

Great little van, really comfy and easy to drive. Email communication great. Drives really well and has a reversing camera! We had a great 2 weeks in Scotland and never got sick of the van! Easy pick up and drop off and felt COVID safe! Cheers!

It is ABSOLUTELY IMPOSSIBLE to speak to anyone over the phone with this company despite numerous phone calls and emails repeatedly requesting a call to clarify some, very general enquiries (not about costs) prior to booking. And, while I fully understand there may be staff shortages and staff working from home during COVID-19; shouldn't customer service be even more of a priority at this time??
Very frustrating and very disappointing too: we shall take our custom elsewhere.

We rented a VW Camper for 8 days from Rockin vans to do North Coast 500, we had the best trip and and the van was absolutely superb, had everything we needed and couldn’t fault anything from the van or trip. Agnes was very friendly and helpful during the collection of our van, it was nice and easy and she pointed us in the right direction and gave us some useful tips, big thanks to Agnes and the team at rockin vans.

Had a fab time ,This has been the second year we hired from rockin vans,Only had a couple of minor issues ,we explained when we handed van back over and agnes was very apologetic, Other than that it was fab

ROCKIN VAN ARE CROOKS!!!! HORRIBLE COMPANY TO BE AVOIDED!!!
We rented a campervan for 1 week, and after 3 days the campervan was broken on the roof and we could no longer drive.
We had no assistance all day long and no communication from ROCKIN VAN.
We were in the middle of nowhere, without transport and hostel.
Despite numerous requests for assistance, they didn’t really care. We were completely alone, we hitchhiked until a city, and we paid all hostels until the end of the week.
They promised us a refund (900 pounds!!) but nothing for 9 months after multiple reminders.
So, we have decided to send a formal notice because there is no alternative!
We are disappointed and fed up.

We have terrible experience hire a camper caravan from "ROCKIN VAN" in Edinburgh, during our visit Aug 2019 for 12 days, we collected the van near airport in Edinburgh, they make us pay extra deposit for 1,300 Pound, if not can't collect it, altho rental was include with insurance, we have no choice to pay it with a van that extra charges us for gas tank and table, we have a small scratch at the back of the van, we though was just copy hundred to repair, but they took close to TWO months to get it repair and refuse to show us the repair cost from repair company, and drop us their company invoice charger more than our deposit of 1,300 pound, and no refund for extra payment for table and gas tank, no reply for email and told us is case close.

NEVER USE "ROCKIN VAN", altho we had great time driving in north UK, but is not the way of keep and treat customer from oversea, we are all totally disappointed, for 12 days WE PAID 2,600 POUND, IS PAIN IN XXX.

We rented a van from the Edinburgh branch to travel around north Scotland and received a brilliant service from Agnes and the team. The vans are exactly as detailed and more. Don’t be put off by any negative reviews. Will be renting again in the summer.

Even 1 star is too generous. AVOID THIS COMPANY!

My partner and I booked a van with Rockin Vans in January 2019. In March 2019 he contracted Guillain Barre Syndrome which left him completely paralysed. We had to cancel our holiday and, at the time, were granted a full refund from the company which we were pleased with.

April went by with no refund. A few more emails went between us and the company who promised they would refund us. May was the same: no refund. They lied to us, gave us false information with screenshots showing the wrong amounts. I was lied to OVER THE PHONE saying that the refund had been processed. We went to the CEO who told us the same lies. Still no action taken to give us the refund despite promising it would be processed.

This was back in August 2019. In October 2019 we ended up going to court to try to get the promised money back. This took an incredibly long time during my partner's already-stressful recovery. The court settled in our favour in JANUARY 2020 but we still had to go to the length of threatening to impound a van before they finally paid the original sum. However we then had to call RV to get the extra court fees they had to pay as well!

The whole process from booking to receiving a refund took an entire YEAR! All the way through they showed utter unprofessionalism and rudeness.

I don't usually write reviews but I'm sharing this as a warning to anyone thinking of booking with this joke of a company! I can't believe they're still in business after all this time if this is how they treat people. Do not book with them!

These guys are awesome and live the van and campervan lifestyle themselves so know how important it is for your van, be it for work, leisure and/or your holiday time! I got an incredible van with a second to none day van conversion done super quick and at a great price. I got recommended to Rockin Vans by friends who bought/rented through them too and they were also all super happy with the service.

This is my second review as it's needed in the face of this one person continuing to set up new accounts and write bad reviews. Please note the mass off positive responses, minimal poor ones and all those bad ones - same person trolling!

0 STARS. DON'T TRUST! I AM STILL WAITING FOR MY REFUND 7 MONTHS LATER!! They don't own their vehicles and after taking my payment and confirming the booking Rockin Vans cancelled my booking because they couldn't find a vehicle. They try to offer a vehicle months later (thanks but vacations are booked for specific dates..) to avoid refunding customers, then lie that it takes months to process refunds. Now they straight ignore those fighting to get refund back, no answers to emails. Worst Experience, Worse Company.

Edit because I can't reply: Once the individual from accounts have actually contacted me and I have written proof of what was discussed I will edit my review. Based on other customers reviews and comments I honestly don't trust that I will receive further contact with what was promised.

I booked with this company in Jan for a trip in May. Unfortunately, I had to cancel the trip and was promised a full refund. It's now one month on and I'm still owed a £480 refund. I've emailed the company and didn't get a reply. I had to call them and spoke to Sam, who assured me he'd process the refund and call me back the same day - which he didn't. I had to call again today and Sam conveniently wasn't available. Somebody told me that they needed to speak to their accountant and would be in touch with me. I've had to contact my bank and raise a complaint.

Very pleasant experience, no problems at all. The staff are super friendly and helpful. The VW camper drives like a dream, is well equipped and makes for some excellent photo ops on the Scottish shores. Surprising to see the negative reviews here. Based on our hire, these are not representative of the camper experience with Rockin Vans.

Poor service all round , they arrived 4 hours late for the vehicle handover and brought a completely different van than i ordered, i asked for compensation and the offered me 10% off my next booking which is useless as i will never use them again

The short story entails a long battle to have my £2000 security deposit returned. After several months and many frustrating fruitless emails and telephone conversations with an after sales support team who quite clearly had a book of 101 apologetic replies, I chose to contact my bank as I had paid the deposit with my debit card.
Fortunately for me. My debit card has a visa stamp on it and as such some banks including my own offer the same money back guarantees as you would normally have with a credit card when fraudulent transactions occur. I provided the bank with email evidence and statements and the BANK returned my security deposit within one week.

Warning- I strongly discourage anyone from using this companies services. Rockin Vans do not operate within their own written terms and conditions.
