The experience of guide. He knew what to use and when to use it. Caught a lot of fish. Lunch was nice too. Would highly recommend to anyone traveling their way.

We had such a great time fishing with Alessio! We are really glad we decided to book with Rod Society. Everything was easy from the beginning, communication was great, and we were very impressed with the whole experience.

Alessio is incredibly knowledgeable, but he’s also just a really nice, easygoing guy and so much fun to spend the day with. We felt comfortable with him right away and had a lot of laughs along the way. He also helped my husband catch a GIANT fish, which was definitely one of the highlights of our trip!

Our only regret is that we didn’t book more days with him. We honestly would have loved to keep fishing! We had such a good time and liked Alessio so much that we would absolutely come back and fish with him again.

If you’re thinking about booking with Rod Society and Alessio, do it! Great fishing, great guide, great communication, and an all-around fantastic experience. We can’t wait to come back!

Great day with Steffano in the Dolomites. Beautiful river, plenty of feisty little brown trout and expert guiding. Couldn’t have asked for better.

Everything about our trip was better than we ever imagined! We did the Hike & Fish package. Our guide was local and knew the waters well and privided everything we needed. He put us on good fish in some of the most beautiful places I have ever seen. Even if we didn't catch a single fish, the experience still would have been awesome, but we did catch some nice fish too and got to try all different techniques! He listened to what we liked and adjusted the trip to give us exactly the experience we wanted (like I wanted to catch an Alpine Char so he pivoted one day and thats what we did!). He also went above and beyond to stay late both days and provided us with local delicacies for lunch each day. I literally cannot recommend planning a trip to fly fish in Italy through Rod Society enough!

The process for booking and payment was simple and easy to use. I had lots of questions before trusting a random company I found online with a lot of money to travel around the world to fish, but Andrea (the owner) was prompt and patient and answered all my questions. I live in the US and my buddy and I fished for 2 days in Northern Italy up in the Dolomites.

Rod Society is my go to for planning international fly fishing excursions. Their communication is always top shelf. They catered the guide assignment to my experience level. Jonathan is an expert at Euro Nymphing and his patience is unlimited. I had never fished this technique but within an hour, he had me putting the nymphs exactly where they needed to be. Thanks so much for an unforgettable time.

We did the back country expedition with Stefano, and it couldn't have gone better. I'm a more advanced angler, so he let me do my thing without trying to overguide which I appreciated.

My girlfriend went us us and he was an great teacher and helped her catch several fish.

I caught a big brown in the creeks, and many in the peat bogs.

Everything was stress free. Highly recommend for any angler regardless of skill level!

My wife and I had a wonderful experience with Rod Society. We had planned a trip to fish in Slovenia with a non-fishing Italian stay preceding it, but we discovered the Rod Society website a few months ahead of time describing all the Italian fishing opportunities. So we ended up fishing 3 different locations in Northern Italy before heading to Slovenia. We had a blast.

What made it so good was the quality of the local guides and their knowledge of the best local techniques to catch fish. We had good success, catching many wild browns, numerous rainbows, and one marble trout. All the settings where we fished were beautiful.

The Rod Society is very organized so getting instructions on where to go, what to bring, and how to pay was easy. Plus the owner kept up on everything that was going on and stepped in immediately when required.

You don’t hear many people talk about how good the fishing opportunities are in Italy. My wife and I can attest that they are plentiful, and that using the Rod Society is a great way to take advantage of those opportunities.

The Rod Society was able to accommodate us for fishing and lodging on short notice, adjust and adapt to different levels of anglers experience and offer other side quests outside fishing for an all inclusive, positive, fun, learning experience. There’s nothing like eating freshly made pasta for lunch then just rolling back into the river for an afternoon catching quick Mediterranean browns.
