RE: Formal Demand Letter – Breach of Warranty, Failure to Cure Defective Work, and Abandonment of Service
To Whom It May Concern,
This letter serves as a formal demand regarding Rooter Hero’s failure to honor its stated warranty, failure to complete promised corrective work, and unilateral decision to abandon a service obligation after acknowledging deficiencies.
Background
Rooter Hero performed plumbing services at my residence, for which I paid an initial service fee of $59. Following the service, unresolved issues remained, including persistent gurgling sounds and an improperly secured lid/cap on the main pipeline behind my home.
Your company represents that all work performed is subject to a three (3) month warranty. My complaint and request for corrective service fall squarely within that warranty period.
After I documented these issues in written correspondence and public reviews, I was contacted by Alex, acting in a supervisory capacity, who explicitly acknowledged my concerns and made the following representations:

Rooter Hero would refund the $59 initial payment
A supervisor would be dispatched at no charge to inspect and correct the gurgling issue and replace the pipeline lid/cap
Supervisor Andrea would contact me to schedule the visit
Rooter Hero would address internal issues regarding technician conduct
The matter fell under Rooter Hero’s three‑month warranty on work performed

I relied on these representations and waited for Rooter Hero to fulfill its obligations.
Subsequent Conduct
After receiving no follow‑up, I contacted customer service and was informed that no record existed of the promised supervisor visit. Later that same day, at approximately 1:30 PM, Alex contacted me from 408‑933‑9448 / 510‑298‑0965 asking whether a technician was present at my home. I reiterated my availability on Fridays and Saturdays, with reasonable advance notice.
Approximately fifteen (15) minutes later, Alex contacted me again and advised that:

Rooter Hero allegedly has no technicians available for an extended period,
Rooter Hero would refund the $59 fee, and
Rooter Hero was “walking away from the job.”

Breach and Failure to Honor Warranty
Rooter Hero’s decision to unilaterally abandon this matter constitutes:

A failure to honor its express three‑month warranty,
A failure to cure acknowledged deficiencies in workmanship, and
A breach of representations made by its customer service supervisor.

Refunding a nominal service fee does not absolve Rooter Hero of responsibility for defective or incomplete work performed under warranty. Declining further service solely due to customer complaints or inconvenience is neither reasonable nor consistent with accepted business practices.
Demand
Accordingly, I hereby demand the following:

Written confirmation that the $59 refund has been processed
A written explanation as to why Rooter Hero has refused to honor its three‑month warranty
Confirmation as to whether Rooter Hero intends to provide the previously promised supervisor inspection and corrective service, or a formal position stating that it refuses to do so despite the warranty

Please provide a written response within ten (10) business days of receipt of this letter.
Absent a satisfactory response, I will pursue all available remedies, including but not limited to continuing documentation with the Better Business Bureau, consumer protection agencies, and public review platforms, using the facts outlined above.
Nothing in this letter constitutes a waiver of any rights or remedies available to me.

I have never wri8tten a bad review but the eneral public need to know about this. I called this company out to find out what was clogging my Kitchen drain due to a leak that affected my neighbor unit. I was charged $326.00 for a report that stated he has only cleared the traps in my neighbor's traps. My insurance company requested specific information, and I have requested the information twice since March 16, 2026, and they have failed to comply. I will be contacting the State Licensing Board. There are several of these companies and I am specifically speaking of the office located on Laura Alice Way in Concord.

STAY AWAY FROM ROOTER HERO!!!
This company is a complete rip-off and I want to share my experience to warn others.

I called Rooter Hero on a Friday afternoon to clear a 4" exterior area drainpipe running from my driveway, around the side of my house, and out to the backyard. They arrived within the hour and told me the best method was hydro jetting, claiming it would also cut through any roots. I was quoted $1,844 and asked to sign a contract digitally on the technician’s phone.

Shortly after, another technician arrived with the hydro jet machine. Within 10 minutes, the hose reached about 15 feet in and the tech suddenly stopped, claiming the pipe was "collapsed." He then spent the next 30–45 minutes upselling me on repairs: $8,000 to fix the "collapsed" section, or $16,000 to replace the entire line. This was a huge red flag — I told him I wasn’t moving forward. He packed up and left.

I was suspicious, so I dug the area myself and discovered there was NO collapsed pipe — the issue was exactly what I suspected all along: roots. The job they quoted for $1,844 was not done, and the excuse they gave was completely false.

I then entered what I can only describe as a customer service nightmare. I called daily, left messages, and was ignored. I finally reached a rep named Alex Rodriguez who asked for 24–48 hours to look into it. A week later, no callback. When I finally reached him again, I had to repeat the whole story, and his final response was essentially: You signed a contract, we’re keeping your money.

Let me be clear:

· They performed minimal work (less than 15 minutes of hydro jetting).

· They misdiagnosed the issue.

· They attempted to pressure me into thousands of dollars in unnecessary work.

· They provided no meaningful service and refused a refund.

This company charged me $1,844 for almost nothing. That breaks down to nearly $4,000 per hour of labor. Outrageous. And then they ghosted me. This is predatory behavior.

I have filed a complaint with the California Department of Consumer Affairs and begun consulting with Consumer Protection Attorneys.

Thankfully, I later contacted DRAIN MOB. They were familiar with Rooter Hero’s reputation and came out quickly. They cleared the drain in 2.5 hours for $875 and did a fantastic job. Highly professional, highly recommended.

Rooter Hero is a GARBAGE company. I can’t stress this enough: STAY FAR AWAY.

I was charged 13,000 dollars for work that was done so horrible that they came out and did the work over for 7800 dollars. The thing is the finance company gave Rooterhero the 13,000 dollars and they haven't adjusted the price and everytime I call they will not let me speak to anyone. They say someone will call me back. And this is showing up on my credit report . I can't get any help

DON'T USE THESE GUYS! I literally just got off the phone after calling their (310) 774-0104 number (Noon at 8/14/22) from their website. I talked to a women who hung up on me not only once, but twice. Why? Because I asked her what would be the cost of snaking two residential drains instead of one. She refused to quote me a price despite the price of snaking one drain is shown on their website. I wanted to make sure of the cost before scheduling them to drop by so I wouldn't get ripped off...which, from the response from their rep, I'm guessing they were planning to do.

This is a hero??? They should be ashamed for abusing such a sacred word.
