Rustic Bakery's Food Just Slaps
Rustic Bakery has four cafes located in Marin County and they are headquartered in Sonoma County where they produce all of their cookies, flatbreads, and crisps.
I've been working my way through the cafe's menu and everything so far has been delicious. I'm not usually a fan of ginger, but their ginger scone is delicious. They rotate specials each week so they add some variety from their mainly set menu.
I'm a big meat eater, but my favorite sandwich by far is the Vegetarian Chickpea sandwich that packs a flavor punch full of cilantro (sorry cilantro lovers). The runner up is The Club Sandwich. I've only tried the campagne bread for both, and I'm hooked. They try and do organic, non-gmo, local ingredients and you can tell that everything is fresh. The cafes are always packed, so they must be doing something right.
I'm also a huge fan of their croissants, strata, breakfast burrito, and the limeade is perfectly tart and sweet.
Most of us have seen their cookies, crisps and crackers in store, and apparently they're designed to eat with cheese (even the cookies). Everything is delicately flavorful so it doesn't take away from the cheese, but is totally enjoyable on their own. My favorites so far:
Flatbreads: Sweet Onion & Creme Fraiche (they make their own CF).
Crisps: Fruitcake (seasonal), Citrus, Ginger & Thyme (I dislike ginger, but these slap)
Cookies: Pecan shortbread (tastes like traditional shortbread) and Eggnog cookies (no eggnog, just deliciousness).
I hope this review helps whoever is interested in trying them out.
