My experience with SK Security has always been pleasant. The professionalism that the guards carry with them is very reassuring that the community is in great hands.

This private "security" company is one of several to rotate as watchman for an apartment complex and it's adjoining parking garage used by tenants in downtown KC. I can't say exactly how long this particular company S.K. security has been in that rotation but not more than 3-4 months...
I have been here regularly since it opened and my child made it home over 3 years ago. I have never encountered any problems while parking in the PAID parking structure behind the residential building at any time in those 3 years until this S.K. Security began aggressively patrolling, speeding non stop through the parking garage and even interrogating tenants inside the apartment building on one occasion. On a recent night in September I was parked on the upper level in the garage as usual, car silent and dark with the windows shaded in the exact same spot I have parked on every other occasion when suddenly there is someone shining a light into my face, pounding on my car demanding that I get out and give them my information stating that it looks suspicious to have windows down even though it was nearly 100 degrees while it was dark inside and then further claiming that I had no right to be inside my car at all! A 2nd very loud, aggressive, overweight rental cop is called when I refused to be harassed or to have this man verbally assaulting me at 1am for absolutely no reason at all. As i refused to be bullied and threatened there were now 2 adult men shining flashlights into my car/my face making demands and accusing me of breaking the law by being inside my own vehicle in the dark. My son had to be called out from sleep and even as he tried to express how abusive and ridiculous this situation was (especially in the context of having repeatedly over a period of years practiced the exact same habits without a single incident or question by anyone else) yet these 2 bullies were threatening to have my car towed and apparently even called the police. I cannot see at night to drive and refused to leave my car especially with the threats being made I eventually left the parking garage and was forced to park in the open lot where I was exposed to the real threat of those constant car jacking thieves wandering around in the bottoms and because of this was forced to shut all the windows on that 100 degree night as a measure of self protection. When these ignorant bullies failed to force me out of my car they began accusing me of breaking the law and being on private property! I had paid to be there and even receive my mail there for over 3 years now but somehow I became a target for their massive insecurities and inadequate social skills. I noticed that upon my retreat from this insanity these ignorant and dangerous thugs with uniforms had a car towed that had current plates on it and has been parked in that exact spot for several weeks without any issues. They were not going to stop until they caused problems for whomever that could that night. This is disturbing and unacceptable behavior. This group of immature terrorists should never be in a position to actively seek out confrontation aggressively creating violent scenarios where none otherwise exists as part of their so called job descriptions! I feel traumatized by this experience.
