Disappointed - No information on VAT, no customer service

I ordered from Sabo to France and was required to pay an additional €37 in VAT and customs fees upon delivery (almost 25% of the order value).

During checkout, the order confirmation indicated “€0.00 in taxes,” without any clear, prominent, and explicit notice that import VAT would be collected upon delivery.

As a legal professional accustomed to reviewing contractual terms carefully, this is no sufficiently visible pre-contractual information.

Customer service simply stated that customs policies are “out of their control,” which does not address the core issue: transparency at checkout and adequate consumer information.

Disappointing experience for international buyers.

Lovely quality but sizing way off, returning was expensive

Absolutely loved this set when it arrived
Fabric & print is beautiful
However sizing …. I used the size guide , I’m a good size 14 / small 16 uk and ordered the XL - it was enormous, I even think the large would be too big .
So the dilemma is do I reorder?
It has cost me £26.10 to return 😞and if the next size I order doesn’t fit it is at a huge cost .
Such a Shame , I’m so disappointed.

Horrendous Import Duties …

In the past I have loved the clothes and not had a problem. But I am currently waiting for a delivery to the UK and the Royal Mail wants £85 in import duties on a £180 delivery. I am so horrified I never would have ordered the item. Sabo Skirt have Just said it’s in the small print. However unfortunately these import duties Make it totally unviable Price wise to order and to reject the order I have To pay. Sabo Skirt Another £20 . Never

I’m £100 down in postage and need to return the items as they are awful, Ill fitting and cheap. I would not recommend anyone buys anything from this website.

Beware import TAX!!!

Lovely quality clothes. But do not order from this company if you live outside Australia as I was hit with a large import tax cost from the post office before I could receive the goods. ( I live in the UK)

It was only in the small print that this is explained. I will not be ordering again from this website because of this.

Worst quality

Purchased a pair of shoes on sale after reading reviews on their website which were all glowing and said they were true to size (cannot leave a review on their site so I doubt they're even authentic).

I've never complained about a pair of shoes before but the ones I unfortunately purchased had me limping with blisters within an hour thanks to the design and material used.

They are also certainly not true to size and their crappy "vegan leather" is so uncomfortable . I can't believe they were selling them for $120.

Customer service rubbed salt in the wound after they ignored my first email asking for advice and/or solution. When they finally did respond, it was a simple "no refunds, credits or exchanges" response.

Will never buy from or support them ever again.

Legit, but sizing could be better

My experience with the clothing and the sizing has not been great, but I have had good experience with customer service and i received refunds on all non-final sale items without issue (3 returns total). 1 of them I actually shipped wrong but it turned out ok and was fast as it was via US, the other one took 4 months because I shipped it from Canada without tracking because it was too expensive and the refund was processed. The company doesn't count how long it takes to get there, as long as you ship it out on time.

The sizing is what I have an issue with. The material was actually good quality and the style is nice. I bought an XS dress because I am 90 lbs, and it did not fit! I really could not be any smaller. Despite this and explaining, I could not return it as it was final sale so I am stuck with it.

So then I bought the next item in a S, it was way too big! I then returned and bought XS and it was still too big. Returned again. I am an XS and it should have fit fine. One of the items looked TOTALLY different online, and like a cheap loose, poorly fitted pyjama in person. But the material was nice. I feel like some of the items could be good, but I have failed a total of 3 times and I really wanted to love and keep everything, so I will not be trying again. The styles are really nice and unique so its a shame. I was even willing to keep the last item if I could alter it but it wasn't alterable due to the print. But the company is legit and not a scam. I would love to give 4 stars because my experience wasn't that bad, but the sizing.. I am usually very consistent and can easily pick out my size.

Some pluses: You get points you can easily redeem for a discount at checkout. Returns are free from the US. Shipping arrived in a reasonable timeframe given that it comes from Australia. Once I ordered the wrong size and emailed the email that corrects this and they adjusted it right away. If I had a good experience with at least some of the items I would have rated 5 stars.

Good refund experience

I purchased a top from here after seeing an Instagram ad, then read the reviews and was pretty worried I had made a mistake.

The top turned up (albeit a day or two after the 5 days postage). it was lovely quality - both fabric and the zip. Unfortunately, it was a little large.

The refund process was really easy to follow. I paid the $10 for return and dropped it to the post office. Today, I received a full refund.

Not sure what all the bad reviews are about. I had a great experience, and would definitely buy from them again!

Uk buyers beware

Fast delivery to Uk and the Playsuit is nice quality but sizes are way off (I’m an 8-10 and the size small is more like a 12-14) returns are fully on you so to ship back to Australia it’s going to cost around £15 at the very cheapest option and that takes around 10 days+ so I’m out of the return window anyway purely by returning …..UK buyers beware. I’m going to have to try and sell on eBay or vinted to get more of my money back.

Charged for faulty dress

I Have bought 4 dresses in total over the last few years but the last one has turned me off sabo all together. I'd been looking at this dress for over a month and decided I would treat myself and get it. When it arrived, the dress fit everywhere except my breasts, which are not big. The material was tightest right in the middle cutting into the fullest part of the breast. It looked terrible. I quickly sent a picture to sabo which they said I measured incorrectly and that it has had no negative reviews so far so I must be at fault. Really disappointing as I would not make this up and had to go through this, take it to the post office and get charged 20 bucks to ship it back. I sent another email asking if they saw the photo attached and have been ignored. Lost a loyal customer.

Spend your money else where.

I can’t tell you how Absolutely devastated I am about loosing so much money. $744.00 gone. I returned most of my order so as to exchange to a smaller size. I requested a store credit for my returns. This was a month ago. Still no store credit and all my emails have gone unanswered. The phone number provided on the web page does not except messages as the message bank is full.

Other than sizing issues...

Must say, I was worried.
I only saw these reviews after having to return an item.
My items arrived promptly. The shirt size was perfect, shorts 2 sizes too small.
I must say, beautiful outfit.
Communication took under a week & once established- on point.
I then returned the item & had a refund within 24hrs.
I am in Australia. Not sure if this makes a difference.
Other than sizing being hit n miss, my experience was positive.

Worse customer service experience in 30 years of retail shopping

This has unfortunately been the worst customer service experience I’ve had in over 30 years of retail shopping. Sabo products once stood out for their quality, but recently I’ve found the sizing inconsistent and their materials not at the same standard.

What has been most disappointing is the customer service itself. Rather than supporting the customer and helping resolve issues fairly, the approach feels focused on protecting Sabo’s profits, even at the expense of the customer experience. This is the opposite of what true customer service should represent.

I hope this feedback is taken seriously.

Be careful when buying from this store!

I purchased a dress that arrived too long, so I tried it on once, then immediately placed it back in the original packaging with all tags attached. When I returned it, instead of a refund, they issued me a credit. When I questioned this, I received the following response:

“Upon our quality control check, we detected that the Millie Dress - Normisma you had returned to us was in fact covered with small hairs.
As per our Returns Policy, we do not accept items that have not been returned in their original condition. Unfortunately, the item has been returned to us in an unsellable condition.”

Yes, I have pets, and it’s possible a couple of stray hairs attached themselves. But to claim the dress was “covered” and “unsellable” is simply untrue. It felt like an excuse to avoid processing a proper refund—especially as I’ve returned a few items recently. Their own policy clearly states they refund for change of mind, so they cannot pick and choose when to uphold it, nor make false claims against customers.

They also never provided evidence of their claim. While I eventually received a refund after disputing it, this experience has completely destroyed my trust in them. I will never purchase from this store again, as I refuse to risk more false accusations if I decide to return something.

No refund after almost 3 months

Still no refund received for an order that was returned almost 3 months ago. I am now beginning proceedings with my credit card company to investigate my refund. I can’t understand why this brand is allowed to continue to trade given the awful reviews and treatment expressed on here!

my initial order to the UK came no problems and I loved the short suit that I bought. However, I just ordered two dresses and I’ve been hit with a £54 import tax invoice from Royal mail. I hope to God they fit because I can’t imagine what the returns process will be like Unfortunately won’t be able to shop with this brand anymore.
