POOR GUEST SERVICES NOW THE NORM ?

Almost all the experienced shoe sales associates are gone now, those who knew what San Antonio Shoemakers & its founders, Terry Armstrong & Lew Hayden, principles were. Now new sales associates are employed who obviously have little training even knowledge on the products they are trying to sell, and the value of respectful customer service. Product knowledge, proper footwear fitting, even proper customer service were once hallmarks of SAS. My wife and I had a
bad experience at the location on New Laredo Highway where no less than two different young female associates gave conflicting information on how special orders are now handled ( my wife's prefered footwear choice was out of stock in her size ), and we both were treated with disrespect & both sales staff turned their backs on us & walked away after being informed in all the years we have been doing business with SAS we were never required to pay in full in advance for any order of out of stock sizes, and being given a flippant response to talk to someone at the check-out area. Terry Armstrong and Lew Hayden must be rolling in their graves on how bad their company has gone downhill. SAS is all about the money now & uses a image of a storied company that is long dead. After being a customer since 1978 of San Antonio Shoemakers, I no longer endorse this company.

Mixed feelings

Mixed feelings. I have really wide feet so they are one of the few shoes I've found that fit properly. I had bought a few pairs of sas shoes at a local shoe store but they closed year before last.
I have ordered a pair off their web sight and everything seems fine so far. The I had interacted with their support (took a few days for them to respond) and they assured me even if I dont buy their shipping insurance they would still handle dealing with the post office is shipping errors occurred.
The number of websites is odd (there were 4 with their name), and way the site is both helpful and not is a bit weird but overall everything went smoothly.

Horrible customer service from SAS

I have worn SAS shoes for a long time. No more! The quality has plummeted significantly. What is worse is the customer that you receive if you order directly from them! Their styles all fit differently and you cannot tell what will fit and what does suit your foot. They charge a $10.00 restocking fee. If your next size doesn’t fit you pay the return. I just paid $15.75 to return a shoe with an odd fit.

If you MUST wear SAS shoes, order from a vendor that treats customers right. Zappos or Amazon. NEVER, ever purchase shoes directly from SAS!!

SAS Siesta Saved my Feet!!

Back in the 80’s my mom had a pair of Siestas. As a kid, I would often raid her closet. I tried these on and man! They were the most comfortable shoes I had ever tried on. They weren’t stylish, but I didn’t care. I wore them more than she did.

Fast forward many years, I’m now in my 50’s. I began to have foot pain due to standing on concrete for long hours. My arches are so high. I was desperate. Bought the expensive Hoka’s for high arch. That worked all of 2 weeks. Always had the SAS shoes in the back of my mind. Again, they still aren’t the most stylish and are known to be shoes worn by much older women than me. Nurse shoes. They used to be.

So, I bought a pair of SAS siestas. Guess what?! No more pain!! I can walk and stand for hours. You really get what you pays for with these shoes. They really last well. I’ve since bought 2 pair of black siestas and a tan pair. I’ve even got two pair of sandals. I don’t think I could ever go back to anything else. So glad these are still made. Thank you!!

GREAT shopping experience !

What a GREAT shopping experience we had with SAS shoes. I was looking for a small size women's short boot with a narrower fit. They found me two pair after a proper foot measurement was taken. These gals are trained to actually fit your feet with shoes that will continue to work for seasons of wear. Thanks for the great help with my difficult fitting! Jean

Loyalty means nothing…

I have been a loyal customer of SAS shoes for over 30 years. I exclusively only wore the “Timeout” shoe. Probably the most comfortable and durable shoe ever made. After 30 years of wearing one type of shoe, you get to know them pretty well.That was until 5/24. Unknowingly I ordered my last pair for $240. I didn’t wear these shoes for about 3 weeks after arrival, because I was still wearing my old pair & I like to see just how long they would last until I HAD to throw them away. About 2 1/2 to 3 months into the new pair, the soles started to separate from the shoe. This has never happened before. I talked with customer service and their response was. “Because I didn’t immediately start wearing the shoes, that this caused the material to degrade”. I couldn’t believe what I was hearing. This excuse was an absolute insult, and totally unacceptable. I did send them in hoping for repair, but were sent back with a letter stating that this was normal wear & not repaired. So after 30 years of being a loyal customer of the best shoe ever made. It’s over. I guess I expected a little more integrity from a family owned business, but I was wrong. $240 is a lot of money for only 3 months wear, but their inaction forced me to find another shoe. Came across a new company “OnCloud” less expensive & extremely durable with more cushion.

If you have sore feet

If you have sore feet, these are the shoes to purchase!
During the past two years, I have tossed out my other shoes and now I have four sets of shoes, two for dressy and two for less dressy -- Brown and Black of each. I have purchased at the SAS store near me and ordered on-line. Always more than satisfied!
