Slow, Broken, and Does Not Provide Reading Comprehension
Savvas Realize is a slow program that has too much content to read fully for History and it has a lot of repetitive questions in Science.
The program takes a long time to load, meaning you cannot do your assignments in a timely manner. Paired with the 6 or more paragraphs spread over 3 to 7+ slides, then one question about the subject matter, you cannot do the assignment in a 90-minute class period unless you read the question then skim through the resources, which does not teach children reading comprehension. My teacher pairs this with physical notes but only adds an additional one to two questions per section. This is the only thing my teacher assigns, for the most part, so it gets repetitive, and teaches the students to hate the program, subject, or just the concept of school. You can see this with a lot of EdTech.
Additionally, the science course is made up of long "eTexts", which is basically an online textbook, along with "Interactivities", videos, and (imagine this is italic) VIRTUAL LABS. (end italic) These virtual labs don't even let you go past the first step, in some of them.
As if that wasn't bad enough, the program is slow. The program takes 10+ seconds on AMD Ryzen 5000 Series with 32Gb of RAM, and upwards of 30 seconds on school Chromebooks. This makes work take even longer, especially when you have to navigate through multiple pages just to see the first part of your assignment. I have seen this slow speed in multiple EdTech applications, and it keeps worsening school.
Then there is the fact that it makes teachers lazy. As I previously mentioned, my history teacher assigns Savvas to us, and all he does is click assign and then look to see who turned in their notes and if it was fully completed.
I know it is unlikely that a school or district is reading this, but if you are and are thinking about buying, don't. I highly discourage this SaaS.
Oh, that's another thing, It's a SaaS, meaning "Software as a Service", which for Edtech, is usually billed per seat (that's students and teachers) per month. This makes it insanely expensive, especially in my school, which has upwards of 1000 students. The prices are not disclosed, but most EdTech is anywhere from $7 to upwards of $15. This means they are spending upwards of $7,000 on JUST SAVVAS for ONE SCHOOL per month. In a ten month school year, this amounts to $70,000 to upwards of $150,000 per year, on just my school. If they bought textbooks, they could use them for upwards of 5 years. For a physical paperback textbook at $13 with textbooks for only about 1/5 of the school, because they don't need every class to have every book, is around $2,600 for 5 years. Even replacing them every year, it is less expensive.
This company is BAAAAAAAAAAAD
I HATE this company. The digital glossary is completely broken and the questions are confusing, annoying, and boring. Also the UI is confusing as well. I have been forced to use this stupid company's products and I HATE IT. Also the "Intro videos' are so stupid. I would rather use Iready than this. Someone please fix this company and it's products. I have been forced to use this product for since 2021.
Teacher Review here-- Savvas is meh at best.
I'm a high school teacher and I have found their app to have several mistakes in the test questions, in multiple course, and multiple topics (chapters). I contacted customer service YEARS ago to report these errors and first, they wanted ME to tell them which tests, which questions, which answer choices, etc. I was like, DO YOUR OWN JOB! Their response was, oh, I guess we can't help you then. So I took video of all the wrong answers I had discovered and sent it to their customer service and it was still never changed. They charge school districts top dollar for their product and act like their customer service will be top notch and it is definitely not. I hope we never get Pearson (they are the publisher behind Savvas) again.
Hard and bad, explanations written badly
The words are hard for me to understand and big words idk what they mean don't help. And when they give u an explanation it is written badly. But when there are fractions at least they take not simplified ones as an answer. But other than that it's bad.
frustion and confusion
I'm a freshman in high school, and my school decided to use the Savvas myPerspectives curriculum. It's been about a month of school, and this website clearly sucks. It's confusing to navigate, and the phrasing on the post-read quizzes is terrible. It doesn't care if you understand the main plot; it criticizes you if you don't know the vocab words or one random detail. I'm a straight-A student, so I understand stuff pretty well. With how poorly phrased these quizzes are, it forces almost everyone to guess. When a lot of people fail a quiz, it's not usually the students; it's the curriculum. Last year, my friend was in a class to test it, and she had to write an essay connecting trying new foods to slavery—like, what? She had me read the essay, and she can clearly write well, but the prompt is definitely confusing. Why does it make you connect random stories to a topic that doesn't even make sense? The selections it makes us read are stories like "Through the Tunnel," which is filled with symbolism and open to interpretation; if we interpret it differently, we are criticized for it. This curriculum is also very repetitive; basically, you read the stories and write an essay using them to answer a stupid prompt. It actively criticizes really good writing on deep subjects like politics or actual, logical arguments.

Sometimes when typing it autosubmits or doesn’t type at all, the problem isn’t about it being homework, but being really broken down. Please fix.
Savaas UI sucks and has a political bias
Savaas' UI is annoying as hell to navigate and the information specifically for history has a left-leaning political bias that I can SMELL from here
Extremely poor learning
The questions I get on homework assignments using this excuse of a platform are significantly harder than what we've ever learned and tells you to do things we haven't even learned. Besides that, it doesn't elaborate well when you get questions wrong, and forces you to use the so called "correct" forms of answers when they are as equally acceptable. Questions also should not be reset if you choose to get help on it, that just punishes people.
Why Do We Use This?
An 8th grader here, this website is absolute trash. It’s picky on the way it’s wants to the math and it doesn’t give a review when you have unlimited guesses. The quiz parts suck too, it doesn’t give you the right answer even if you didn’t understand it from the start. I have to admit, it’s ok at some parts, but it’s a site that is like melting pot. Some good, mostly bad. To summarize this, savvas can’t do its intended purpose without the proper availabilities for the student. Also, my teacher does agree in some things.
Most Complicate Program
This is my first exposure to this program and thus far I find it far too complicated for students with low math aptitude. The program assumes a higher level of understanding for students in lower tiers of learning. Further the lesson are no coherent. For example 4th lesson under topic 12 has a lesson on comparing decimals and then goes to adding fractions with denominators of 10 and 100, then the next lesson is on counting money. There is no connection between comparing decimals and money. In lesson 13 here is a lesson on converting with customary units of measurements. The student are asked to subtract 2 1/4 from 10. They are taught to subtract 1 whole from 10 and make it 9 4/4 and then subtract. The easier way is to use a number line and label the number line and count backwards. I can envision students being thoroughly confused.
Pain.
Id rather get 1000000 papercuts and jump into a pool of lemon juice than do math on this website

Savvas realize is so bad and you can not download the book for example to use NotebooKLM
Savvas Is not trustworthy
It does not tell me what is wrong when i'm about to submit
An absolute dumpster fire
hands down one of the most unfriendly platforms I’ve ever had to use. the interface feels like it was designed to confuse students rather than help them learn. the questions are ridiculously hard and often far beyond what’s actually covered in the curriculum. the tools are especially awful, clunky, unresponsive, unnecessarily complicated. simple tasks take way too long, and half the time the graphing interface doesn’t even work the way it’s supposed to. navigation is another nightmare, especially on mobile. it’s clear this platform was not designed with students in mind.
not bad
its not that bad but it is super boring and assignments just pile on top
Mid website
Meh, but good for social studies, idk what all the bad reviews are about, it loads fast for me, and the font is good, Colorful, and images and stuff.
The website would repeatedly have…
The website would repeatedly have questions with inequalities and ask for an "and" statement but the answer would be a one solution, no "and" nor "or" statements.
The company is inaccessible to parents…
The company is inaccessible to parents who are asked to purchase materials for students. The private school which my child attends learned late this summer that Savvas and Pearson are no longer in business together. Thus, the materials aren't available. I purchased what I had been instructed to purchase - a digital book and online access - both of which my child does not need, use nor have we accessed it. I was told after nearly 10 phone calls to Savvas that I would receive a refund. I received a refund for $27 rather than the $125 for the digital access. One has to make multiple calls to the company (devote nearly an entire morning of your time) to get through to a person and you are then instructed to access the website - difficult, unwieldy - giving the distinct impression that the company is hiding behind their website. Absolutely unresponsive to customers and the website design is awful. I am now filing a complaint with my credit card company.
Terrible UI
Inaccurate answer key, terrible The user interface is not user-friendly for students or teachers. Often slow and buggy, with frequent problems. Just not great. There are other better programs to use.
Slow, Repetitive, and Difficult to Navigate
The website is slow and redundant, with many issues connecting with google classroom and using the e-text. The e-text can get stuck continuously as Savvas calls it, "Loading Highlights and Annotations." When accessing the e-text and upon reloading the page you are met with the loading highlights and annotations message and are put back to the first page of the e-text; the website doesn't save your location and page on the e-text. To make it worse, the web design is very redundant and useless with an unnecessary amount of UI buttons and text put all over the home page; it is really easy to get lost within the website and it is a pain to find specifics. English and clarity in the website resource are also very poor in quality with very misleading terms and words that can contradict previous statements they have explained before. Very unintuitive design and overall makes the learning experience of physics boring and tedious.
