⚠️ AVOID AVOID AVOID ⚠️

THE WORST DEBT COLLECTION AGENCY IVE EVER HAD THE MISFORTUNE OF BEING INVOLVED WITH

THEY PURCHASED AN ALLEGED DEBT FROM A COMPANY THAT WENT BUST.

I ASKED THEM FOR THE TRANSFER OF OWNERSHIP PROOF WHICH THEY FAILED TO PROVIDE.

I REQUESTED PROOF OF SAID DEBT, SUCH AS A SIGNED CONTRACT, BUT THEY COULD NOT LOCATE IT

THEY PHONE ME AND OFTEN LEAVE VOICEMAILS SAYING “YOU NEED TO CALL US” - WHO ARE THEY TO TELL ME WHAT I NEED TO DO? I HAVE HUMAN RIGHTS, I DO NOT DO WHAT THEY TELL ME!!

THEY SEND WEEKLY EMAILS THREATENING COURT ACTION AND BAILIFFS AND NEGATIVE CREDIT FILE REPORTS AND HAVE DONE SINCE 2022 YET THEY NEVER BOTHER. I HOPE THEY DO SO I CAN FACE THEIR LIES IN COURT.

EXTREMELY UNPROFESSIONAL

I STRONGLY DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY TO ANYONE IF YOU HAVE THE CHOICE

Big thanks to Lucy

Companies run on people. That's the fuel. Every company has them, that's how the world works. What makes great companies different is their people. When someone hears you on the other side, your experience is shaped by that first point of contact.

For me, it was Lucy Morgan. Fortunately.

I felt heard. I felt valued. And above all, not a single word of judgement. I was expecting the worst. A condescending tone, a slip of a you-messed-up-pretty-bad or some sternly, robotic professionalism in the least.

But I got a genuinely kind and understanding response from Lucy which gave me much hope. She not only resolved my issue, and gave me clarity about my account, but also instilled confidence in me that all is not lost.

There are people like Lucy out there—an asset for any company. A beautiful heart to appreciate that people do care.

Absolutely disgusted with this company

Absolutely disgusted with this company. I was originally with a creditor named "the credit thing" who went bust. Next thing you know scott and mears who I'd never heard off (apparently The Credit Thing sold them my debt) say I've missed 6 £10 payments and have absolutely decimated my GREAT credit score. Was "very good" now sits at "very bad"..

I explained the confusion and offered to pay the entire amount of the debt and have those "late payments" cleared. But they seem to just want to cause me pain or guess that I'm lying and are flat out refusing to change those errors.

Keep sending me text messages and emails demanding money. Considering this company knows that I currently have an IVA, they should not be demanding money from me, but the solicitors that are in charge of the IVA.

Unsolicited call by mistake!

Today I was called and left a voice mail by this debt collector by "error".

Scott & Mears were calling me representing Club Med. This was their second call regarding the issue. During the first call a month ago on December 20, 2023, I explained my position and the reason for refusing to pay Club Med. Trustpilot users can read the reason in my Club Med review.

Today when I called back in response to the voicemail I was informed that the case was actually waiting for their client - Club Med - to respond. Today's phone call to me during my busy working hours was a simple "error" by their debt collector!

According to Scott & Mears's website, they are "members of the Credit Services Association (CSA) and the FCA, and they strictly adhere to their Code of Conduct.” - right! I wonder what FCA would think of making such unsolicited calls!

Getting a call from a debt collector is stressful. Stop doing it for the chuckles!

Competitive & competent

Being a small, family business, unpaid accounts have a serious impact on us. We have used Scott & Mears as our debt recovery agent for nearly 20 years, and in that time they have given us excellent advice, recovered many debts which likely would have gone partly or wholly unpaid, and processed these with the minimum of fuss and inconvenience to ourselves. They do this at a very competitive rate, which again makes a big difference to our profitability.

Scott & Mears have been a superb…

Scott & Mears have been a superb company to deal with. Advising and guiding me through the entire recovery process, court documents and hearings whilst providing a professional, yet kind service.
No stone left unturned proved to give us a positive result in a difficult case.

It can be incredibly daunting to embark on something you have so little knowledge of but Scott & Mears have been fantastic from start to finish. Can highly recommend & will be my “go to” in the future.
