DO NOT BUY FROM SEEDS IRELAND.
Early this year i purchased 20 west cork bulbs aspargus crowns at a cost of 100 euro, from seeds Ireland, which i planted as directed. only one crown came up, so i emailed, explaining and sending images of bed and crowns that did not develop all 19 of them and got the below reply, basiclly telling me it was my fault. just to be clear i did plant in beds which i had been prepared the previous season removing perennial weeds and preparing soil, it was also weed free when crowns were planted and remained this way to date. yes seed ireland offers competive prices and quick delivery, but if anything goes wrong they are not Intrested. IT WOULD SEEM FOR SEED IRELAND THE CUSTOMER IS NEVER RIGHT, BUT I SUPPOSE THEY MAKE MORE PROFIT THIS WAY

Thank you for your message. I’m really sorry to hear that the asparagus crowns didn’t perform as expected, it must have been frustrating after all the effort you put into preparing the bed.

All of our crowns are carefully inspected before dispatch, and we’ve had no other reports of problems with these varieties this season. Because asparagus is a natural product, there are many factors out of our control that can affect its success, including soil temperature at planting, drainage, and the weather over the season.

For future plantings, we recommend waiting until the soil is at least 10 °C before planting, watering well during dry spells, and keeping the bed weed-free to give the crowns the best possible start. Once established, asparagus usually becomes more productive each year.

Images were sent, and if they did not receive them WHY WAS THAT NOT INCLUDED IN REPLY, REQUESTING THEM( perhaps shows there interest in my email) it is also important to point out, I had done a soil test ( externally done ) in preparation for the crowns. I honestly would not take the time to review if I thought it was a issue with planting or environmental factors on my side.. DO NOT BUY FROM SEED IRELAND / west cork bulbs. There has to be better seed sellers in Ireland

I've been a customer of Seeds Ireland for the last 4 years and I have to say I am always blown away!
The germination rates are fantastic, i love that everything is organic and the quality of the produce is incredible! I'm not a prolific gardener but as I've learned, seeds ireland have always been there to help. They send out informative emails that always coincide with the growing season. The packets have helpful information and I love that the packets are recyclable or compostable. They even took my suggestions on board when I suggested supplying bear root plants such as strawberry crowns.
I will be a customer for life! Can not reccomend them enough!
