Unreliable: Lost and damaged goods

They are not reliable on delivering or handling your items for your move. Look up the complaints under their DOT# on the FMCSA website.

The pickup and dropoff crews were fine - they were the only positive aspect of the move. Their storage and handling of the inventory between delivery and drop-off is horribly disorganized and unprofessional. Broken and damaged items upon delivery, with many items missing entirely. Only 2/3rds of the inventory were delivered on time. The remaining third (except for the items that are completely missing) were not delivered until 41 business days after the first available delivery date, 10 business days beyond the 30 business-day window stated in their contract.

For weeks they would not respond to my calls or emails when I was trying to reach them about my missing items. When I did reach them they aid that they did a warehouse sweep and could not find my items and tried to get me to go straight to filing a claim (which is a scam process, see below). When I contacted my broker, Proud American Van Lines, they were able to get Selective Van Lines to look again. Selective Van Lines then said that they found all of my missing items and that they would be delivered.

Even after the late second delivery, 19 items were still missing. They lost %10 of my inventory entirely. I asked them to look again in their warehouse but they said they can't find my items, despite the fact they stated earlier that all of my missing items had been found. The inventory item sticker that was attached to my brand new toolkit was found placed on an old bedframe that didnʻt belong to my during the second delivery of my items. This is strong evidence that someone took the sticker off my toolkit and placed it on an old bedframe, aka theft. On the second delivery, they only sent one truck driver with no one else to help unload. Many of the items that had to be unloaded were large and heavy. I had to provide my labor in order to unload the items without having them damaged.

Selective Vanlines claim process is a scam. They made you go through movingclaims.net to file a claim. Movingclaims.net is NOT an insurance company and their employees are not acting as insurance adjusters. Selective Vanlines does not offer a true claims settlement process by making their customer go through movingclaims.net. Selective Vanlines has not paid or offered anything for their delay in delivery, nor for the lost and damaged items.

Do not do business with this company. Your items will be lost, damaged, or stolen when it goes through their storage process and they will not offer any type of compensation. They should spend more effort in properly managing their warehouse and handling peopleʻs good in a professional manner, and less effort on posting fake positive reviews.
