I have never ever written a review in…

I have never ever written a review in my life. Usually I’d get to the stage of typing it out but then it doesn’t seem worth it. With this company it’s a completely different story. I’d give ZERO STARS and AVOID at all costs. I had no other options and I was only left with this company. I had booked it, upon arriving into Bahrain. I was confused before my trip even began, they sourced a car from another company ‘Avis’. I’m being told to go to a certain part of the airport and someone else is telling me to wait outside. When it came to returning the car, I was accused of smoking inside of the car and I had told them were a non smoking family. The guy goes “You should clean ur nose and smell properly” absolutely appualing. Now when it comes to the deposit. They’re quick to take your more but VERY VERY VERY SLOW to return it. They have a stupid policy of waiting 30 business days to receive your deposit. IT IS A LIE. YOU WILL NOT RECEIVE IT. After the car is returned they credit it to your profile as if we’d be renting again. After the 30 days had passed, there was no update on my deposit whatsoever. I had messaged them on WhatsApp and they ignored all 4 of my attempts to reach them. I got annoyed and called them up, they told me to keep on waiting and hung up on me. I started a chargeback request with my bank which they DIDNT EVEN reply to. The bank voted in my favour to return the money. PLEASE AVOID THIS COMPANY. They have shut their business on Google so people cannot add more reviews. THE REVIEWS SPEAK FOR THEMSELVES

you guys are the worst customer service…

you guys are the worst customer service ever.... and the worst rental app ever ... I wish I have never heard about your company... and I'll do my best to legally get my rights from you guys.. and every platform will have my commitments on you. no wonder your app is rated 3.4 on the app store.

WARNING

WARNING – My experience with SelfDrive Mobility in Bahrain.

I have been renting a car from this company for around 7 months and always paid on time. Recently I was delayed only 5 days because the banks were closed due to the war situation.

Without any warning, the company remotely disabled the car while I was outside on the road. The vehicle suddenly stopped working and I was left stranded. This happened while war sirens were going off, which made the situation even more stressful and unsafe.

When I contacted them, I was simply told that nothing could be done.

Because the car was disabled from their system, I had no way to move it and it ended up blocking someone’s garage. I informed them and sent video proof of the situation.

Policies are understandable, but basic customer support and communication should come first. Disabling a vehicle remotely without warning and leaving a customer stranded is not how a professional company should treat its clients.

A simple call, a warning, or even temporary support to move the car to a safe place would have been the responsible way to handle the situation.

I’m sharing this so others are aware and so the company can hopefully improve how they treat their customers in situations like this.

No guarantee of Deposit return

Self Drive does not return the deposit. I will not recommend this App for booking car rental.
This is my personal experience. (My agreement No 2002330 ended on 23/April/2025 for the Ford Territorry car No. 149473)
They have not yet returned 100 BD deposit.

Not all hero's wear capes

Came to my rescue when stranded by a large well known car rental...Great staff very competitive prices. Will definitely use again.
Small company so folks give these lads a go, you will not be disappointed
