Arriving in a new country with out knowing anyone to assist with a serious medical issued that started before we left home. We could not change our plans but worried we would have to wait to get our feet on the ground and get an appointment here in Portugal. Fortunately we heard about Serenity on Americans and Friends PT Facebook page. All it took was one phone call and they took care of everything I got the urgent medical attention without issues and prescriptions almost immediately. They also followed up every step of the way. Feeling great finally.... wishing I would have called them sooner. They even helped us get our Portugese SNS medical numbers. We highly recommend them and cannot thank them enough. Great to have peace of mind if anything else comes up.

There is no one providing this type of service in Portugal except for Serenity. I am blown away by the level of excellent and caring service provided by my Case Manager, Sofia and the Company as a whole. My husband and I recently joined Serenity and have already had several occasions to use their services. I had been behind on several health checks since moving to Portugal and our case manager, Sofia, was instrumental in coordinating all of them, as well as finding great doctors for follow-up care. My husband was due to have neurosurgery and Sofia not only coordinated all of his tests leading up to his surgery, but also coordinated payment from his BC/BS Fepblue insurance plan, which covers him internationally, directly to the hospital. Sofia stayed in touch with me before, during and after his surgery. A personal touch I greatly appreciated. The team at Serenity are compassionate and passionate about medical care. For those of us lacking fluency in the language and having any difficulties whatsoever in navigating health care in Portugal, Serenity is invaluable.

I first came across Serenity when one of my friends ended up in hospital with a brain bleed. Her son was very grateful for the second opinion at a very stressful time. So, I signed up. Subsequently, I needed to see an allergist - bad sinus infection. They found me one within a few days - the alternative was to wait 3 weeks.

A unique approach to healthcare. We are very happy with the service provided, more importantly the warm and compassionate people. Matters very much and they do well at it.

Very helpful in problem solving, support and navigating healthcare in Portugal. They find good doctors and work hard to meet one’s particular needs.

We moved to Portugal just before Christmas 2021. We joined Serenity and they and Michael Averbukh have been a huge help to us. Lisa my wife was suffering increasing sciatic nerve pain.

So we contacted Serenity and within hours she had a scheduled online appointment with a pain specialist who helped her through the initial stages of reducing her pain.

Unfortunately the pain got progressively worse so then Michael recommended a wonderful neurosurgeon close to where we were living. She had an immediate MRI scan after which the outcome was surgery which took place within a few days. We were reassured by the fact that the surgeon Micheal had recommended was very professional, caring and spoke excellent English which was important as we had only been in Portugal a few weeks.

Throughout her experience and post-op Serenity have been very supportive and kept in contact with her every step of the way. The service they provide is invaluable and we will continue to use their services for any health problems we may have in the future and for general advice on the Portuguese health service.

We would have no hesitation in recommending Serenity to anyone who wants to navigate the health service in Portugal and needs to find doctors, surgeons or health professionals who excel in their field.

Excellent support for a smooth transition into Portuguese health care. Everyone I've spoken to has shown a genuine interest in my situation and promptly helped me find solutions.

Some expats and others are satisfied with navigating the health care system in Portugal all by themselves.
My wife and I however found a simple way to leave those difficulties to professionals.
We joined Serenity Care almost as soon as we heard about its services. We had an immediate personal response to our first email enquiry; not a robo-reply. From our first email inquiry we were contacted within hours of the same day by phone.
Yesterday, we were contacted by phone by a professional from Serenity asking if we had any immediate needs. We realized that my wife needed a refill of her medication. Serenity contacted the main pharmacy here in the town where we are living. Serenity called us back and said we could pick up the prescription at our convenience.

My husband and I always dreamed of retiring to Portugal until my husband was diagnosed with a terminal illness, ALS. As my husband's illness progressed, I decided to take him to Portugal one last time not knowing what to expect in the event he had a medical emergency in a foreign country. My stress level was out of control until I stumbled upon a YouTube webinar with Dr. Michael Averbukh speaking about Serenity. I immediately sent an email and told them our story. From that moment on, I no longer had to worry about anything. Dr. Michael and his team were always quick to respond to phone calls and emails. Serenity helped me with translating and certifying my husband's medical legal documents, facilitated caregiving service and had medical equipment and a doctor and nurse on standby in the event my husband needed it. More importantly, their kind, genuine caring about us was beyond measure.

No doubt our situation was extreme, but the level of support they provided us in navigating a terminal illness while on holiday and managing the day-to-day was priceless. One day I will make my solo return to Portugal, and I will forever have Serenity by my side.
