Excellent service

We’ve been working with Paul as a Residents’ Association on a complex service charge and heat network challenge involving over 100 leaseholders.
From the outset, Paul has been approachable, responsive and exceptionally knowledgeable. He took the time to thoroughly review a large volume of documentation before setting out a clear strategy, and his written correspondence has been outstanding. Every letter has been well structured, evidence-based and backed by relevant leasehold legislation and case law, giving us real confidence that our concerns have been presented professionally.
What has impressed us most is the amount of time and effort Paul has invested. He has been quick to respond to questions, happy to explain complex legal issues in plain English, and has kept us informed throughout. Rather than simply pushing us towards litigation, he has ensured every reasonable opportunity has been given for the landlord to engage and provide the information requested before progressing matters further.
Although our case is still ongoing, we are extremely pleased with the service we’ve received so far. Paul has given the group confidence that our concerns are being taken seriously and has brought structure, professionalism and strategic thinking to what is a very complicated dispute.
Based on our experience to date, we would have no hesitation in recommending Paul to other leaseholders looking for a knowledgeable and dedicated specialist in service charge and leasehold matters.

Great Service

Paul is looking at two separate legal matters, very knowledgeable, communication throughout with clear signposting and supports individually and as a team to get the best outcome.

AI reports and fake feedback

It's highly probable that Paul uses AI to generate his reports and letters, as many are riddled with telling signs and errors.

He markets his report as a 'free, no-obligation' service, but he actually solicits and expects a positive Trustpilot review in return and gets upset if you don’t express enough gratitude.

When I shared my experience, he attempted to silence me by reporting the review for defamation. Honest feedback is clearly not welcomed here.

Thank you for taking the time to write, though I'm genuinely puzzled by this review. I've checked my records carefully and can't match your account to anyone I've prepared a report for. If you have used my service, please contact me directly with the date of your report and I'll gladly look into every point you've raised.

For anyone else reading: I stand behind every report I produce, and while I do invite feedback, as most businesses do.. a review has never been a condition of my free, no-obligation service, and no one has EVER been pressured for one.

Thank goodness for Paul

Thank goodness for Paul. Think he must work 24hrs a day as he responds so quickly. We have an ongoing issue with retrospective service charges which he is assisting us with. Without him this whole process would be so overwhelming but he explained everything over the phone very clearly and he has challenged the management company with the legal terminology and his knowledge of the laws and legislation is outstanding.

I would highly recommend Paul and Service Charge Challenge.

Where hope exists

Paul has been such an immense support thus far. Excellent support of my flat purchase

I'm in the process of purchasing a flat in a Grade 2 listed building. When I received the management accounts I noticed the service charges had risen by 12% in the past year and for unknown reasons residents had been over charged for insurance.

No one in my buying process could help me analyse and understand the accounts. So I went searching and found Paul at ServiceChargeChallenge.

From the first WhatsApp messages Paul was helpful and analytical. I soon had an excellent forensic analysis of the past half decades of accounts and 15 questions to ask of the management company via my solicitor.

In buying a flat the financial viability of the service charges is one of your bigger risks. And ServiceChargeChallenge are the only people I found who could help me with this. No one else in the solicitor, surveyor, estate agent chain of people I employed would even look at the accounts and offer advice.

Saint Paul

I found Paul online after receiving a completely ridiculous £20000 bill from our property mangement company and feeling utterly hopeless. After leaving a quick note on his website briefly explaining my situation he called me back almost instantly reassuring me that he could help. I then sent off all the correspondence I'd had with the property company so he could have a good look through. Sure enough he'd found plenty of misdemeanors and told me we had a very strong case. At this point I completely trusted the man had our best interest at heart, so decided to proceed. He wrote a letter on our behalf highlighting all the issues and the various sections within our lease that the property management company had broken. This prompted the management company to respond and admit fault in their own unique and pathetic way. Our June bill was suddenly reduced from 11k to £380. We are now also using him to proceed with the right to manage our building, kicking out the awful property management company and making sure we have control of what needs doing and what needs to be spent. I genuinely cannot reccomend Paul highly enough. He is clearly incredibly passionate about what he does and i truly believe he is 100% on the side of the tenant. He's on a crusade to bring these awful companies down and thank goodness he is. He's potentially saved me £20k and ALOT of stress. Thanks so much for all your work so far

London Service Charge Challenge

We are currently going through a service charge challenge, and Pauls service so far has been exemplary! he provided a comprehensive letter highlighting numerous issues to be sent to our freeholder within 24 hours, and we are upgrading to the £179 service for Paul to send this. Highly Recommend!

Excellent don’t hestitate

This is a scary , strategic and technical process and Service Charge Challenge has provided me with very detailed advice in writing and given me huge amounts of verbal advice and correspondence to help me understand what is the best choice to make about my most valuable asset and my home.

Paul is very professional, listens, understands and gives honest straight advice and guidance and I felt he went right into battle when needed and really did challenge on my behalf comprehensively

Great to finally have someone on our side

Paul has been fabulous from the get-go at making a confusing and intimidating process clear and understandable. Within a few emails and conversations, he got our management company to withdraw a frankly shady and unethical bill. He has been supportive and, in the murky world of leasehold property, it is great to finally feel like we have someone on our side.

Impressive

So far, so good. Have been searching for ages to find someone like Paul to take a forensic look at Service Charge accounts issued by one of the country's most notorious Block Management companies. I have been very impressed with Paul's level of detail and his communication. The next step will be to see whether other Leaseholders may now wish to follow up on Paul's recommendations. Practical advice and great knowledge

Finally someone who wants to help and knows how to! I heve been working with Paul for the past few weeks after an ongoing issue with my a neighbourighing leasegolder and the managing company acting on behalf of the freehold. He understood the complex situation, was very efficient and effective in handling the communication with all parties...and most importantly he made me feel heard. After well over a year in this mess, he offered tangible advice, to resolve the matter and acted upon it. No fluff just action! Thanks for your help Paul...we are almost there.

Brilliant service so far

Brilliant service so far. Paul has kept me informed and written some amazing detailed emails, listing all the breaches my useless freeholder has made, and kept the pressure on him. For the first time in nearly 20 years of being a leaseholder, I finally feel someone is on my side and fighting for the unfair treatment I have had to put up with. Highly recommended and thanks as always for all your help so far, and I am so confident now, going to the next stage if needed. Thanks as always Paul.
