New ash green waste collection.
Sevenoaks are implementing changes in waste collection. They have a statutory duty to collect household waste. However New Ash Green where they collect our waste is wholly community owned. The paths the grass verges the car parks within each self governing section is owned and run by the residents. Everybody is a shareholder within each department. The council are not. For whatever reason they are stopping the collection off household waste at individual households and require each department to provide waste dumps. They the council cannot appropriate land they do not own and they are effectively withdrawing waste collection without any regard to their legal rights and statutory duty. When I suggested to them that residents could deposit waste on the council office car park they advised that this was fly tipping and yet that is what they are proposing they do to residents.
