Appalling Quality, Endless Runaround, and Dishonest Customer Service
If you are thinking about buying from Shinzo, save your money. I purchased a pair of £93.81 trousers, and the entire experience has been a masterclass in terrible business practices.
1. Terrible Product Quality
After just 7-8 light wears, the trousers literally started falling apart. Both waist buckles snapped, a button fell off, and a hole formed in the fabric. Shinzo’s response? They called this "regular wear-and-tear" on a month-old premium item and offered me a laughable 15% (later 20%) partial refund to go get them repaired myself.
2. Shockingly Unprofessional Support
When I refused their insulting partial refund and asked for a proper resolution, they completely ignored my emails for nearly a month. When they finally replied, their excuse was literally that their rep went on holiday and left the inbox unattended.
3. Dishonest Excuses
Because they ignored me for weeks, I had to open a chargeback with my bank. Shinzo then repeatedly lied, claiming their "system" wouldn't let them resolve it and that they were "legally required" to wait for my bank's decision. I actually had to send them screenshots from my bank (Monzo) proving that they did have the power to accept the chargeback.
4. Shifting Goalposts
Once I caught them lying about the bank process, they suddenly invented a new hurdle. For three months, despite me sending numerous photos of the destroyed trousers, they never once asked me to return them. Only after they were backed into a corner did they demand I physically return the unwearable, broken item—which had long since been thrown away. One of their reps even admitted in writing that this return policy "was not explicitly stated" to me.
They will sell you faulty goods, ignore you, lie to you about your bank's policies, and make up retroactive rules to avoid taking accountability. Avoid this brand at all costs.
