One Star
One Star – Over a Year of Ongoing Issues, Safety Risks, and Broken Promises
We’ve been dealing with major issues for over a year now, and the experience has been nothing short of appalling.
The pool arrived with rust and surface defects. Instead of addressing the root cause, the company carried out a rushed, poor-quality repair with no proper preparation beforehand — and unsurprisingly, rust reappeared within a week.
The paint is now patchy and inconsistent — not due to the original finish, but because of their own substandard repair work. The Senior Service Manager told us the mismatched paint would “dry and match in” — unsurprisingly, it didn’t. This has been confirmed by independent assessments and photographic evidence.
He also compared the pool’s ongoing rust to a car, telling us, “It’ll keep rusting if you don’t wash it,” even though we rinse the pool after every use. I told him, “If I had to paint my car every few weeks, I’d be upset too.” That’s the level of professionalism we’ve been dealing with.
Communication has been consistently poor — sometimes taking weeks or even months to respond. We’ve had multiple visits booked where no one showed up. When technicians did attend, even the Senior Service Manager refused to complete the work, offering excuses like “the water’s too cold,” “I forgot my towel,” and “I need a wetsuit.”
We were promised:
• Reimbursement for draining and refilling the pool
• Fibreglass testing and results provided by an external tester
• Full replacement of defective coping timber
None of these have been delivered.
The composite timber coping was so far out of square that even Quick Dip Pools team couldn’t erect the pool fencing. This will be the second time this coping has needed to be repaired. Worse still, someone was injured by that same faulty coping.
Even after escalating to management, nothing has improved — just more empty promises and more silence. We now have a deteriorating pool, unresolved safety issues, and zero trust in the company’s integrity or commitment to their warranty.
We’ve now also discovered rust marks forming on the concrete beneath the pool. On closer inspection, it’s clear the coping sealant was never properly sealed, allowing pool water to leak into the internal structure of the container, leading to rust from the inside out. This isn’t just a surface issue — it’s evidence of poor sealing, faulty fabrication, and compromised structural integrity.
To make matters worse, the pool was installed without a shut-off valve, meaning that every time the filter needed cleaning, pool water would gush out and continue draining into the internal container structure — sometimes losing half the pool’s water before we could stop it. This oversight contributed to further internal rust and damage. We eventually had to hire an external pool company to correct this basic installation fault ourselves — and despite Shipping Container Pools acknowledging the issue and promising reimbursement, we are still out of pocket with nothing received.
The only person throughout this process who consistently communicated with professionalism and care was Edan — and even she was bad-mouthed by the Senior Service Manager while she was on leave. That speaks volumes about the internal culture and the lack of accountability we’ve experienced at every level.
After reading other reviews, it’s clear that poor preparation before painting is a common issue with this company — and I’ve definitely learned from this experience. From now on, I’ll be reading reviews before signing any contract, and writing more about the amazing purchases we do make.
Avoid this company at all costs.
