Fake Damascus!! This company is fake and would not refund my knife with shipping. Will not prove it is real Damascus and no proof it is a Japanese business. Spend your hard earned money elsewhere! Gave them many opportunities to make it right and would not refund the full amount. Offered discount of FAKE knives instead.

Nothing luxury about how I use it, it just works every day.

I’m not a confident cook and I’d always used whatever cheap knife came in a starter set, so I wasn’t sure a better knife would make much difference for someone at my level. It did, mostly because I stopped pressing so hard to get through things, which made me feel a lot more in control of where the blade was going. I’ve started following recipes I used to skip because the prep looked like too much work. Not saying a knife made me a good cook, but it took away a lot of the frustration that was holding me back.

Quick hand wash and dry after use and it still looks new.

Asked support a question before buying, got a clear answer fast.

I ordered this with a specific dinner in mind and the checkout page said it would arrive well before that date, it ended up showing up two days after instead, almost a week later than the original estimate. I reached out partway through to ask what was going on and didn't get an update until I followed up a second time. Ended up using an old knife for that dinner and switched over once this finally arrived, which has been great since, no issues with the knife itself. Just wouldn't count on the estimate if you're planning around a specific date, build in some extra buffer.

The thinner edge took some adjusting to, glad I stuck with it.

I wish I could do less than one star...This is a completely fraudulent company. They claim knives are made in Seki but that the makers mark is " confidential". Laughable excuse. Any craftsman in Seki will be proud of their mark and will share with enthusiasm and pride. These knives however, are made in China. The photos on the site are AI generated. They are running under 3 different brands that will likely change again. Masahira, Shirosuki, Harutani are all the same brand so be sure to take a look at reviews for those companies as well. Everything about them and what they claim is fake and a scam. If you are looking for a decent knife in the price range, look at MAC,Miyabi Shiro, or Miyabi Hisho

Fake China made garbage. Not made in Seki or Japan. Shipped from China as seen on return shipping info. Don't get scammed. No makers marks on anything they sell. Any craftsman is Seki will leave their mark on their work

Web site says 30 day return window. They keep putting me off, not providing a return address, now tell me I must pay to ship it to China.

Re-named from "Masahira" same goods. Prev reviews say products are not Japanese but drop-shipped Chinese. Eight words got a refund: "American Express", "Federal Trade Commission", "California Consumer Protection".
