The men that were sent arrived on time with their trucks and worked steadily with my supervision in packing, shipping, and unpacking. Although the price was high, you get what you pay for. The office was in constant touch with me as we advanced to each step to my new location and to my storage location. All was wrapped carefully and labeled.

Experience #1: we just used Shleppers for our move from Connecticut to Manhattan. As mentioned below, we also used them on our move to CT a few years ago. Again, they did not disappoint. Easy to work with, great communications, and the crews who did the packing and loading and the delivery, were great. Everything arrived in good shape, something we always worry about. Plus, their price was very competitive. So, after now having used them twice I can recommend them even more highly!!!

Experience #2: This involves the move of a 1 bedroom apartment from NYC to Connecticut. The team arrived on time, got the packing quickly done, drove to Connecticut and then unloaded our items. Total time was about 5 hours. All items arrived in perfect shape, including some fragile glassware.

I paid for full-service unpacking — never got it. Property damaged. Bed bug dispute stonewalled. Months of "final offers" that kept changing.

I hired Shleppers for a full-service move that included professional unpacking. Here's what actually happened:

Unpacking never delivered: I paid roughly $300–350 for unpacking. The crew only partially removed items from boxes and threw out the packing material. I was left with stacks of unopened boxes throughout my apartment, which I photographed at the time. After weeks of disputing this, Shleppers' final offer was an $85 partial refund for a service I paid for in full and never received.

Property damage: The movers damaged a wall while mounting my TV (later very poorly repaired) and damaged a large plant during the move.

Bed bug infestation: Within days of the move, I discovered a bed bug infestation and had to wrap and discard a mattress, headboard, bed frame, and rug. Shleppers denied responsibility, telling me it "would be very difficult" for them to accept liability, without offering any evidence for where the infestation actually came from.

Customer service: Every reply took days. Each settlement was called "full and final," then quietly revised again once I pushed back — five separate times. When I mentioned I might share my experience publicly, their claims rep's response was to tell me to make sure anything I posted was "100% accurate" and that they'd "take all necessary steps to protect our company's 48-year reputation." That's not customer service — that's a warning shot aimed at an honest review.

If you're comparing movers, get every service in writing, and think twice before paying extra for anything (like unpacking) that isn't guaranteed to actually happen.

Shleppers sent a great team (the Carrillo moving team), a group of 4 extremely hardworking, careful, speedy & professional men, who somehow remained so nice even through the intense NYC heat & humidity. Everyone I interacted with over the phone to set up the move was also very helpful.

Was very accommodating with my request helping my 82 year old mother move while I was away at work.

One star for reasonable pricing. Another star for prompt and hard-working movers who packed all valuables seemingly well. A third star for getting the job done quickly. Removed one star for some damage to furniture after finally inspecting everything thoroughly. Removed another star for damaging doors and walls of the house. All can be fixed but that's added cost for me, not them.

The at home consultation and estimate was really professional and the turnaround was instant. Customer service follow up and communication prior to move made it all anxiety free. As for the move itself, staff was on time, all smiles, professional and extremely patient placing everything on the unloading. We could not have been happier with the experience and the price was great too. Can’t recommend these folks enough.

Garcia was a great foreman on our job along with his crew. They did a great job over 2 days. I never had to repeat myself, he remembered where everything was supposed to go. They worked very hard and got the job done as quickly as humanly possible. Highly recommend!

The move went as smoothly as it could have. On time, handled with care, and unpacked with patience. Despite the heat, smiles on every staff face throughout. The price was great, the service top notch - we could not recommend more. We e moved a lot of the years and used different carriers. Shleppers hand down was the best. And not to be left unmentioned - customer service on the initial quoting and then with follow up the week of moving made it stress free.

The crew of 3 men were so pleasant to work with and so fast and efficient. They showed up 15 minutes early and immediately started wrapping everything that was supposed to go on the truck. They were careful with every item. When they got to the destination to unload, we had the same excellent experience! They set everything up and made sure it was all placed exactly where we wanted. We will definitely call Shleppers to use again and will highly recommend them to anyone we know looking for a great moving company

I would never recommend this company go and read the notes, Eli gave me a price to remove my Furnitures when you guys came to my house you realize one Furniture could not go through the door you did not refund any money and you just left it there
