I have bought three structures from them, mixed feelings as once a roof failed within a year and they refused to take responsibilty. However the other two buildings have been constructed by really nice chaps who went above and beyond.
My main gripe is that they sponser a local firework display which causes misery to a lot of their customers.

This was the WORST experience with both a tradesman and organisation I’ve ever had!

Rude nasty people represent this business. The men who fit the sheds are NOT the type of people you want in your home, very clearly served time at his majesties pleasure.

The people in head office are rude dismissive and treat you the customer like cash piñatas who don’t have the right to speak.

What should have been a straightforward shed purchase and installation turned into a thoroughly unpleasant experience. When ordering in person at the Stone Cross branch, I made it absolutely clear that the shed would be built on a pebbled area of my garden even showing pictures and was assured this would not be a problem in fact assured it would be fine as the hundreds of shed on display were all on pebbles. Unfortunately, the installer refused to do so on the day, leaving me with no choice but to have the shed built on my patio, meaning I have now lost a usable area of my garden and will face additional costs to put things right.

Although the shed itself was assembled well, the installer’s attitude was appalling. He was rude and disrespectful didn’t even knock of my door just made his own way into my garden (whilst smoking) on my own property. The overall experience was made considerably worse by the company’s handling of my subsequent complaint.

I had to chase the company for 11 days just to speak to someone about my complaint. When I finally managed to speak to someone on the telephone, my complaint was effectively ignored to the extent they even admitted to ignoring my previous correspondence. They denied ownership of the problem, showed a poor attitude and repeatedly spoke over me rather than listening to what I was saying or taking responsibility for the situation.

Mistakes and misunderstandings can happen, but the way a company handles them says everything about its customer service. I was given assurances when placing my order, left out of pocket as a result, and then had to fight just to have my concerns heard.

The lady who dealt with my original order at Stone Cross was helpful, and I have no complaint about her service. However, the installation experience and the subsequent customer service have left me extremely disappointed.

I chose this company based on positive things I had heard, but I would seriously think twice about using them again. I expected a shed and a professional service; instead, I’ve been left with a garden layout I didn’t want, potential additional costs, and a complaint that I had to chase for 11 days only to be met with dismissive behaviour.

We are very pleased with the shed it is just what we wanted. The installation gents were superb and couldn't have been more helpful. We would recommend Skinner's Sheds, they were efficient and professional.

Fabulous company; excellent communications and a great product. We were helped all the way through the process by the staff. The base was installed about two weeks after purchase, and the shed itself went up a couple of weeks after that. Skinner recommended that we painted, so we did! I also had my builder put an apron all the way around it. Highly delighted with it, an excellent store for all my garden bits and pieces.

We purchased a Finch greenhouse from Skinners Sheds, but unfortunately our experience has been extremely disappointing.

When erecting the greenhouse, we found the assembly instructions extremely difficult to follow. They are not particularly clear or easy to interpret, which made the process of putting the greenhouse together considerably more difficult than we had anticipated.

We also encountered problems during the assembly and subsequently found ourselves needing assistance. We were then quoted £500 for assembly! More that the greenhouse cost.

After making our purchase, we discovered that the same greenhouse was available considerably cheaper elsewhere. We subsequently looked into Skinners' Price Promise, only to discover that it applies to sheds and not greenhouses. We feel this is something potential customers should be aware of when comparing prices.

More importantly, however, has been the lack of after-sales service. We have contacted Skinners Sheds on several occasions regarding the problems we experienced and we are still waiting for a response.

We also contacted Vitavia, the manufacturer, who did respond and tried to assist us. Unfortunately, despite our attempts to contact Skinners, we have received no meaningful response or resolution.

We appreciate that problems can sometimes occur with a product and that assembling a greenhouse is not necessarily straightforward. However, we expected clearer instructions and, more importantly, reasonable customer support when we encountered difficulties.

We chose to purchase from Skinners Sheds because we believed we were buying from a reputable company. Sadly, the lack of communication and after-sales support has left us extremely disappointed.

Based on our experience, we would NOT purchase from Skinners Sheds again.

From the beginning of choosing our shed, we had excellent advice, with the site survey giving us even more confidence. The putting together of our 8 x6 shed was outstanding, the two guys just effortlessly put it together in an hour.
As for the shed; great quality and solid.

I’m extremely happy with our new Apex Shed/Workshop. From start to finish, they were absolutely amazing. From our initial visit to the store, through to arranging payment, delivery and fitting, the whole experience has been fantastic.
The delivery and fitting team were brilliant, and everything went smoothly on the day. They also follow-up afterwards which was greatly appreciated.
I genuinely cannot fault the service we have received from Skinners Sheds. It has been a pleasure dealing with them and we would have no hesitation whatsoever in recommending them to others.

Great service from advice before ordering through to completing the order and delivery and erection if our shed summerhouse by their efficient team. Would recommend.

We recently bought a Shed Summerhouse from Skinner Sheds.
Robert was very knowledgeable and helped us to decide on the best shed option for us. The quality is excellent and we are really pleased. The Shed Summerhouse is perfect as although it is a shed, it is much prettier and more atheistically pleasing. It looks great in our garden. Thank you Skinner Sheds. I would highly recommend.

ery happy with the Apex shed and the service we received throughout the purchasing process. Derek gave us good advice and the relevant information when we first enquired about buying a shed. Once we had made our decision he took us through the various options and add-ons available, ensuring we ended up with a product that met our requirements. The delivery and installation went very well and the two fitters were excellent - giving advice and ensuring everything was setup perfectly. The shed has now been painted and looks great. There have not been any issues to date.

Our Shed/Summerhouse base was layed in June and the building put up in July - I was letting it all “settle” and wanted to start using it before I considered this review.

Overall: very good.
The process of viewing (at Skinners Sheds site), ordering, delivery and building all went smoothly and was overseen expertly by Tony Ball, who did the site visit and kept us in touch and up to date over the whole process.

On site, your teams were efficient and well organised for laying the base and building the shed/summerhouse when it was ready.

The service we received from the two fitters was second to none. They were helpful, friendly and worked quickly and efficiently.
Our concrete base turned out to be not level, meaning we needed a wooden base made. The fitters explained why and demonstrated the issue. They gave us options and guided us to the right decision.
The shed looks great and is clearly a level of quality up on our previous one. We went for an Apex Shed 7x10ft, which was made as a non-standard size at no extra cost. We went for the smaller security windows which let in enough light, but also give you the option of having the shelf a little higher. We purchased the Royal Exterior shed paint to finish off and protect.
I would happily buy from Skinners again based on the end product, but mainly on the professionalism and service of the two fitters. They were exceptional.

Very pleased with the quality of the Apex shed and the installation despite the very hot weather. No hesitation in recommending Skinners sheds.

Removed a shed that had been there for 20 years and when they arrived with the new shed said base was uneven in the middle which was true but this would not effect the overall base once built. tried to charge an extra £400 for base and refused to build shed and left. quality of shed great quality of customer service and the fact they try to get you to buy extras not good. Also now base has been corrected the £50 return to build admin fee is nearly £200. the guarantee will most likely be worthless now as well as they didn't build the shed.

We are delighted with our toolshed.

I purchased an 8x6ft summerhouse from Skinner Sheds. Both the product and the service have been exceptional. I was delighted with the service on the day - their service was professional, high quality, and a credit to them for working in 30+ degrees. They explained certain options I had, such as where the security bar went, as well as the require aftercare.

Before the fitting, Val's communication was also excellent when I needed to discuss things like shed location and the required concrete base

A very reassuring and reliable experience from a company that is able to offer every conceivable variation. We are very pleased with the finished product and grateful for the assistance we received at the planning stage.

Very disappointed that I was charged £492 to take down and remove what was only half of a shed as I had already taken down a lot and disposed of it myself. The process took the guys exactly 20 minutes to take down load up and leave. Which equates to nearly £1500 an hour for their work.
I have tried emailing and phoning Skinners sheds about this but have had no response.
I would not use them again on principle.
My new shed is however fine and the men that delivered it were polite and accomodating.
A bad experience for me with a high cost.
