Shocking, scamming, thieving company. Do not hire a car from this company as you won’t get your deposit back. They don’t respond to phone calls, emails etc. Read the reviews. This isn’t a one off, it is the norm. They shouldn’t be allowed to operate a business. Have already reported to Police and Trading Standards. Out and out criminals and thieves.

They will ignore your request if your query is anything to do with getting your deposit back. Im currently in the process of making an official complaint to the government. My car went back in January and its now march! They still haven't refunded it.

This company should be BLACK listed and they are not trust worthy at all - especially the apparent owner WASIM .
DO NOT TAKE A RENT A CAR FROM THEM - cheaters and liars of the first order.

Honestly if there was an options for 0 star, i would give it. Worst experience ever. Everything was smooth till they swipe the card. You wont get any response if the car breaks down, but highly responsive if they have to collect a payment. extra 20 % for the RTA fines, out of the world cleaning and delivery charges. You would be better off saving the phone bill rather than checking for your deposit. Best of luck guys, and but trust me you will run out.

Worst car rental experience. Asked for a Nissan Sunny and gave a Kia car. And that car had a wheel unbalance. and car was shaking while driving. Despite several requests they did not replace the car until one month finished. Even the driver who came to collect the car was sooo rude and was a scammer. With AED 75 to 85 the car fuel tank becomes full. Still he was asking 100 AED for filling the tank, while having already more than a quarter. And there was only a half of the tank when I received the car. And they take additional 20% for RTA fines. They send their bill without any proof for the fine. They say that they have already paid the fine though only one week passed from the date of the RTA fine. And according to their behavior not sure whether i will get my deposit back.

rented a car through Yango, with SmartLeaseDubai.com as the sub-rental company. I paid a security deposit of AED 1,999 at delivery.

After returning the car, I was told the deposit would be refunded within 30 working days. The refund was delayed. After repeated follow-ups, they suddenly claimed deductions for a traffic fine (AED 713) and extra kilometers (AED 412).

This is incorrect. My rental included 600 km, and I drove only around 400 km. I requested official proof of the fine and mileage calculation but received no response.

I have full documentation, photos, and chat records. Very disappointing experience and poor communication.

Scammers! They didnt refund me my deposit till now its been more than 2 months. I raised a complaint on consumers protection. Avoid at all costs. I am yet to hear about anyone who received their deposit back

I am very disappointed with this company’s service. I rented a car and was required to leave a deposit. After returning the car in good condition and on time, my deposit was not returned within the promised timeframe.

This is a fraudulent company working on low rates and not refunding the security deposit. They do not respond to emails and do not answer calls. AVOID AVOID and save yourself money. Still waiting for refund 10 months later!

Smartlease is not refunding the deposit 2000 AED for 2 months. Phone number is not answered. Whatsapp is also not entertained. Extremely poor response and while going in person, they are citing scratches UNDER the bumper which already existed. No pre-lease photos or post-lease inspection report or any repair bills or any invoice, settlements whatsoever. Scamming company. They also say only mon to fri 11am to 5pm the accounts team will work. Despite a promise to pay in 21 days on WhatsApp, they have done nothing.
Now i need to file a compliment with RTA and Consumer Protection.

This is one of the worst car rental experiences I have ever had with Smart Lease.
After returning the vehicle in perfect condition, my security deposit of AED ____ has still NOT been refunded, even though:
There were NO damages
There were NO fines
The car was returned on time and properly inspected
Despite repeated follow-ups, Smart Lease responded with:
Lies and empty promises
Continuous delays
Complete lack of accountability
This behavior is unethical, unprofessional, and unacceptable.
Withholding a customer’s deposit without any valid reason is a serious violation of consumer rights.
I have already filed an official complaint with Consumer Protection, and I will continue escalating this matter legally until my full amount is refunded.
I strongly advise everyone to stay away from Smart Lease.
Save your money, time, and peace of mind.

Very bad and unprofessional company they promised me to return the deposit after 30 days and didn’t receive it till today no one is replying call or WhatsApp .

Absolutely avoid this company. They are dishonest and do not honor their commitments. No one showed up for the vehicle return, forcing me to leave the car at the hotel. I then had to arrange my own transportation to the airport, which was the agreed return location. They do not respond to calls or messages and have not refunded the security deposit. A complaint has been filed with the Department of Economy and Tourism in Dubai. Stay away from this company.

“Smart Lease Dubai charged me for an MG5 but delivered a lower-value Kia Pegas. Despite returning the vehicle in full compliance with the rental agreement, my deposit has not been refunded, and all attempts to contact the company have been ignored. This behavior constitutes unfair commercial practices under UAE Consumer Protection Law.”

Beware – Poor Car Rental Service Experience

• They promise deposit refund in 30 working days, blaming Salik and traffic fines
• In the UAE, Salik and fines do NOT take a month to appear
• After the waiting period, follow-ups are ignored
• The accounts/refund contact number stays switched off
• Even after giving a specific refund timeline (e.g. 48 hours), no refund is processed
• Currently still struggling to get my deposit back
• No response, no accountability

Think twice before renting.

Terrible company. Refuse to return deposits. Chasing them for weeks now to try and get my deposit back and keep getting told it will take time even though the 30 working days are long past. Avoid renting with them at all costs
