All the staff are lovely in Smudge and are always honest about what something looks like on you. I love that they let you browse but are there if you need them. Had so many pieces from this shop over the years. Never disappoints when looking for something special or casual

The shop is lovely which first drew me to it on a visit I made to Liverpool with my friend, I was looking for a wedding outfit for my nieces wedding. The staff were very helpful at initial sale and couldn’t do enough keeping bringing dresses into me to try on, It made me feel quite guilty walking out without purchasing something when I was constantly told you look amazing in that, I had not got shoes and accessories to truly appreciate if it was right for me and was apprehensive, especially as it was a long dress, however I can only speak on my own experience and I feel I was misrepresented at point of sale as I was not informed at time of purchase that if you purchase items in store that no refunds are given. When you spend a high amount on an item, as dresses are expensive, and you are not 100% sure you want it please don’t buy it as I was advised don’t worry if you don’t like it when you get home what’s the worse that can happen, you can bring it back, not if you don’t like it when you get home, unfortunately we do not offer refunds, only exchanges. These statements are two very different statements. Buying on-line however you do receive a refund which I only found once I was issued a credit note on my return for a refund, and service was very good in terms of app and delivery times. It just doesn’t make sense to me and for customer retention, a discretionary refund could have been given to me especially due to this misrepresentation, I travelled back especially within 14 days of purchase for a refund so I could go and find another outfit for my nieces wedding at another store. I personally felt very let down, which is sad as it made me on my return visit just wanting to get out of the store due to my frosty reception, felt like I was being made a nuisance for returning the item. I was only polite at all times. This approach was given by the same person who had sold me the dress. My daughter who came with me on this return visit was really embarrassed by her attitude and said mum can we just leave please, She’s not very pleasant. The store advised it had a notice on the desk, on the day I purchased it, there was no sign on the desk my friend even confirmed this with me so I know I’m not imagining it. I was issued a credit note to use online due to where I live and in the end I purchased items to make up the money, items I didn’t really want but just wanted to cut ties with the store, but cost of delivery left me approximately £21 down not to mention the 200 mile round trip back to Liverpool. I just hope that the store have learnt by this misunderstanding, which they constantly said was on my part and took no accountability whatsoever for it, they should make it very clear to new customers at point of sale especially as Liverpool is a place that customers travel to for weekend breaks. This is an honest review and would I recommend the store, yes as it is lovely but just make sure you don’t fall into the same trap that I did. The delivery postcard when I received my online order was really nice and a nice gesture.

It was easy to order and I received my order very quickly. As I'm petite I ordered size 10 unfortunately it the dress was long and big for me. The dress did look nice and good quality too.
