We had a wonderful family holiday in Sri Lanka organised and guided by Somak Travel. 3 weeks of well planned adventures that took in a huge amount of sights, culture and new experiences. Our guide and driver, Dushara, made the trip particularly memorable thanks to his vast knowledge and calm presence.

Dushara was our very dedicated guide for our 4 days in Sri Lanka, making sure we made the most of our time experiencing as much local culture as possible. Very knowledgeable but also aware of our own space and time needed to take things in. Dushara also always ensure we checked into each hotel ok before leaving us for the evenings, he couldn’t have been any better!!!
On a side note it was a little disappointing that I requested through our own travel agent that as this was our honeymoon would it be possible to see the delight of seeing my new married name rather than my previous name, I understood if this wasn’t possible due to me booking the holiday months in advance on my old (at the time current name) but I was assured this request had been passed on but it most definitely didn’t relay back to the necessary people.

We had the best experience with Somak in Sri Lanka. Our driver Dush met us on arrival and we had the best 10 days with him. He was super flexible if we wanted to change the itenary, brilliant driver and a really lovely guy who made our experience amazing!

We felt safe with Somak, they looked after us and we’d absolutely use them again, until next time!

Great holiday and service. Our driver, Michael, met us on arrival at the airport and provided five great game drives over 2.5 days. We stayed at Salt Lick lodge, which was just amazing with Michael driving us on to the beach hotel. Between booking and going, all our questions were answered promptly, the itinerary sent through was clear and the information pack was fantastic, providing so much detail. We would certainly recommend Somak.

Fine when things go right - but when they go wrong, they are nowhere to be seen…. Terrible service. Would never use again.

Italia ho soggiornato 5 giorni con voi 2 giorni amboseli sopa lodge 1 giorno lake navasha sopa lodge 2 giorni masai Mara sempre sopa lodge è stata la vacanza migliore della mia vita tutto fantastico i lodge tutti eccezionali i panorami fantastici e i safari unici da consigliare e poi una guida veramente in gamba che ci ha guidato dappertutto pur di accontentarci un grande ringraziamento a mansud e a tutti voi per tutto quello che ci avete dato rimarrà sempre nel mio cuore a dimenticavo ho fatto l’esperienza anche del ballon safari nel masai Mara qualcosa di meraviglioso ne vale veramente la pena un grazie a tutti voi ho soggiornato dal 16-11-2025 al 21-11-2025 poi 4 giorni a chale island sulla costa Lugo da favola da consigliare

Vi rejste med Profilrejser, som bruger Somak, som lokal rejsepartner i Kenya. Vi havde fantastiske safari oplevelser og den bedste rejseguide, Said, sørgede for at vi fik en uforglemmelig oplevelse hvor vi så Kenyas vilde dyr i Amboseli og Masai Mara. Han bliver ikke kaldt The Teacher for ingenting. Tak Said.

Vores chauffør/guide Lawrence er den dygtigste, sødeste og mest herlige mand. Han gør dit bedste for at man får alt at se, og han skuffer aldrig.

Super 4 days - 3 nights safari in Tsavo. Great guide and driver in Emanuel.

Vi var med SOMAK Safari i tre dage i juli 2025, vi er en familie på 4 og vi var alle enige om at det var en fantastisk oplevelse.
Det var især vores guide Alfred der var suveræn, han gjorde virkelig alt for at vi skulle have en fantastisk oplevelse!
Tusind tak for oplevelsen, vi håber vi ses igen Alfred!

Delivered the perfect safari and beach holiday

Somak was recommended by my local travel agent as a price comparison to Abercrombie & Kent and although they advertise as a luxury travel company they appear to be just an overpriced booking agent. My very expensive, once-in-a-lifetime, luxury holiday was a safari, Vic Falls and beach holiday. The safari lodge was out of this world but I had been very specific about location, dates and standard of lodge; for the rest I assumed Somak were Africa travel experts (as per their website blurb) ‘crafting unforgettable escapes’ and offering ‘bespoke adventures’ and everything would be a similar luxury standard. I was left feeling absolutely ripped off with no meet & greet at any airport, budget local air lines for all air transfers and LHW hotels, which may be classed as 5-star but the room standard, level of service and overall experience nowhere near met the price charged by Somak (e.g. TUI were offering the same beach resort). Somak appeared to book everything that gave maximum profit for them rather than delivering the high-end luxury travel experience I thought I’d paid for so would absolutely not recommend this company. My complaint on return was met with ‘we will reply in 8 weeks as per ABTA rules’, which was a deadline they missed and final compensation offered was only 2% of the very high total holiday cost.
