Misleading “Toronto-based” brand – expensive return to China
I had a very disappointing experience with this company.
The website clearly presents the brand as being based in Toronto, which gives the impression of a local Canadian business, but they are not in Toronto. However, after placing my order, I found out that the items are actually shipped from China, and more importantly, any returns must be sent back to China at the customer’s expense.
This is not made clear in a transparent way before purchasing. If it had been, I would never have ordered.
The quality was mediocre at best, and when I requested a return, I was encouraged multiple times to accept partial refunds instead of returning the items. When I insisted, I was given a return address in China, with shipping costs that can easily exceed the value of the product.
Overall, this feels very misleading. A company presenting itself as “Toronto-based” should not require international returns without clearly highlighting it upfront.
I would not recommend purchasing unless you are 100% sure you will keep the item, because returning it is neither simple nor reasonable.
