If there was a 0 star option I would use it.

Where do I start with all of this it's long and never have should been allowed to happen.

When I was sent a Gas Safety Certificate via my letting agents alarm bells rung, I knew that on August 17th 2023 no one from Southern Heating or any other company had done the yearly test thats a legal requirement. I promptly informed my letting agents so (a review on them later!) After a few emails back and forth I was told this would be looked into.

Calls were made twice to Southern Heating about this 1st GSC, my boiler was in a totally different location to where its really placed there is also more than 1 unit for testing the lies over the phone were ridiculous, the person spoken with had no idea that a BBU needs a smoke test.

Imagine to my horror a second GSC was issued! Less than a week later my boiler on this one had moved bit still only 1 appliance, they also stated my CO alarm was working and in date! (In reality it expired in June 2023 and was no longer working) after exhausting back and forth with Letting agents as well as these cowboys I was fast to giving up hope until in stepped the HSE.

Finally yesterday Southern Heating admitted to not carrying the Gas safety tests out using an admin error as an excuse. Thank you HSE for investigating this and finding the truth the only voice that could shout louder than a tenant.

this Monday Southern Heating attempted to start covering all this up, wanted to send someone in 20 mins which I refused, I also refused entry to my property on Wednesday so this whole situation could not continue, when you sent your other registered engineer, see I knew who he was in advance thanks to the Gas Safe register, his lies are as bad as the rest of you.
Thankfully I have a good few useful emails from Southern Heating and 2 absolutely fake cp12s, I'm not dropping this.

BTW nice of your comment to suggest it was the carer who called back Monday who found out who you were and to start the email trail... I am of sound mind with 0 disabilities and 0 need for any carer, in fact as a carer to my disabled son I find that extremely low.

For now the name of the Engineer I have left out.. I wonder if he even knows about all of this so he for now has benefit of doubt.

Dodgy gas safety certificates. Did NOT attend property and sent TWO certificates. Claiming they’re valid LOL. Saying a non existent boiler is in the kitchen when it IS NOT. AVOID. DODGY

The worst company I had to deal with…

The worst company I had to deal with the staff are very unprofessional specially the customer service staff. Just remember if they contractor Come to fix anything in your house once the leave your property they won’t answer you phone very unprofessional

I am sorry you had a bad experience but I'm not sure it was with us. None of our emails, telephone logs or Job management software contain either of your names. Could the work have been undertaken with a different name. Please let me know and I will look into it.

Two no-shows with no contact - avoid!

We tried to use this company for a fairly simple repair job - replacing a plastic exhaust flue that had been damaged by some other work.

The first engineer scheduled to inspect the boiler and give us a quote did not turn up or contact us. After we contacted them and got an apology, we gave them the benefit of the doubt and set up a second time.

The engineer didn't show up again, but we did get a call with a quote and were told it's a common problem, hence no engineer needed to come to quote. A bit odd, but fine, we left it at that and scheduled a third time slot for the work.

Of course, no one showed up. By this point we're over a week into the process and I've still never seen an engineer from them, nor have they seen our boiler. We're not giving them another chance to disappoint and will be booking somewhere else.

Five stars for the two builders Steve…

Five stars for the two builders Steve and George who refurbished my bathroom. It took longer than expected as they encountered problems with the walls when removing existing tiles. My choice of tiles proved difficult as they were the thickest porcelain. The bathroom looks wonderful and they were professional, polite and very hard workers. Excellent finish, very tidy and I would use them again. Very reasonable price from Southern Heating

Just to follow on from Gary Hugill’s…

Just to follow on from Gary Hugill’s review where you wrongly state that he has been misinformed about how long the water was off, I am another resident and my water was off from 10am I logged a call with Thames water at 10.37 where I was on the phone for 17 mins. My neighbour logged her call at 10.43 and we were told there would be an engineer arriving in approx 4 hours. The engineer arrived at 14.30 and after speaking with your plumbers instructed them to restore sully within an hour. Water came back on at 15.35.

Please don’t tell me that after realising that the property they were working on had a shared supply they couldn’t have simply knocked on the doors of the house concerned to give warning that supply would be disrupted with an approximate time it would be off. This would have been professional and morally correct. No one would have minded but we all spent the day chasing Thames water as we assumed that one of us had a massive leak. Your client may have been extremely happy but we were not.

Unprofessional installation

I would not recommend this company to change a tap , let alone install a boiler. They installed a boiler 2 doors up from me yesterday and isolated a common supply in the main road, whilst carrying out the works. This resulted in numerous households being without water for nearly 8 hours. They could have clearly seen this was a shared supply and should have informed the neighbor's prior to doing the works. However they didn't have the decency to do so.
They should have ran their first supply and installed an isolation valve in the house first , then carried on with the boiler install. This could have been done within an hour, not 8 hours! Very , very unprofessional. I even had to call out Thames water to investigate the issue !

Hello Gary, I am very sorry to hear you had no water for a short while yesterday but where do you get 'unprofessional installation' from. I have checked our records and it appears you are not one of our customers and I don't believe we have ever carried out an Installation for you. The Customer we were working for yesterday, a third time repeat customer I should point out, who lives a few doors away from you is extremely happy that he now has a fantastic new boiler Installed by our professional staff with a full 10 Year warranty. As we explained in our telephone conversation this morning, unfortunately you and a few other houses on the terrace have a shared water supply, the property we were working on did not have its own stopcock so it was necessary to turn the water off for a while. I understand you were not at home yesterday, you may have been given some wrong information. The water was off just over two hours from 12 midday to 2.15pm. Once again we are sorry for any inconvenience caused.

Ryan came to our home to do a Boiler…

Ryan came to our home to do a Boiler service and found out the Boiler was installed incorrectly. He came back with the necessary equipment and sorted all out. Mind you we had serviced the Boiler for years and none of the previous engineers bothered to check the outside where the water pipe comes out - and there is where the incorrect installation was, what was causing a water leak. Very good and reliable service. Also cheaper than any other ones I had quoted. 5 stars.

Our experience of Southern Heating and…first class service

Our experience of Southern Heating and Gas Engineer Chris and Al the Electrican was absolutely first class we are over the moon with the installation of ATAG. The installation of ATAG was carried out with ease and efficiently. Totally, it was a five star service. We have no hesitation in recommending this company to anyone.
