I struggle with getting started—knowing how to begin, staying on task, and not getting overwhelmed to the point where I just don’t do it at all. So when I came across this service, it felt like exactly what I needed, even though I didn’t realise something like this existed.

I’ve always liked having an organised space, but I struggled with knowing how to actually do it—where to start, what to do, and where everything should go.

Char made the whole process feel manageable. When I did get overwhelmed, we took small breaks and worked completely at my pace. He really meets you where you’re at and understands that decluttering and organising can be a lot.

We started with two shorter half sessions, which was really helpful because it didn’t feel as overwhelming, and then moved into a full day session. We’re planning one more half day to finish off the rest of the house and tweak any systems that might not be working.

He was kind and supportive from the start, helping me sort through what I needed and what could go to a new home for someone else to enjoy. He even offered to take items to the op shop, which made a huge difference as those bags would usually just sit around and never actually leave the house. There was never any pressure—just gentle prompts and reassurance, like “that’s okay if you can’t decide, you can come back to it later.”

What I appreciated most is that he didn’t just do it for me—he worked alongside me and taught me strategies and simple steps so I can maintain it myself.

My house feels so much more manageable now. We went through my wardrobe and I actually have space again, and got rid of two bags of clothes that had been sitting in the garage for ages. Being able to go through things at my own pace has made a huge difference—my room feels less chaotic and cluttered, and I feel more productive and proud of my space instead of embarrassed.

It still gets messy sometimes, but instead of just moving things from room to room, most things now have a proper home. We even labelled where things go, which makes it so much easier to keep on top of. It’s also had a really positive impact on my mental health, as having a more organised and manageable space has made day-to-day life feel a lot less overwhelming.

I would use this service again in a heartbeat and would honestly recommend it to anyone wanting a less cluttered space and support to make it feel like less of a mental load.

I booked Char to help me with half a day of organisation last year. I'm AuDHD so I get stuck with executive functioning and Char was really helpful. He got to know me a bit first via email to better understand my process.
Our appointment gave me the confidence and spark to continue independently, sorting out other things; it's made my life so much easier. It helps that Char follows up with a list of target areas and is really lovely to deal with. He understands and can address specific problems in a clear way, without shaming. I felt really comfortable asking questions etc.
The service gets booked out very quickly so be prepared for a possible wait time.

I would totally recommend Space For Your Mind. I was moving into my partners flat and he was a heavy smoker for years so the place had nicotine stains and smelt very musty plus it hadn’t been cleaned properly for a long time. Char was amazing! From the initial email contact to the walk through they made me feel very confident that it could be done easily and nothing was a problem. They definitely made me feel at ease and took the pressure off a big move for me. I am so happy with the result and will be recommending them to all of my family and friends.

Our goal was to clean out the garage and get Char's advice on the interior of the house. They worked very quickly on their own and grouped big things together while making space so we could sort things in the garage. They also gave us a few tips on where and how to dispose recyclables like big cardboard boxes and textiles. As for the interior consulting, we looked at existing systems and brainstormed ideas on how to keep things tidy. Having Char there as a "body double" also enabled me to do things I normally found difficult to do, like putting away clean laundry and making low-stake decisions to dispose certain things I no longer need.

They were on time, organised, communicated with me well before the date of the booking and upon their arrival I felt at ease (big for someone who doesn’t like people in their home very much!). Char was extremely thorough with cleaning my 1br apartment, was friendly to my slightly nervous dog, and helped so much with organising my cluttered wardrobe!
