The Spanish Academy Opiniones

If you are looking in the reviews in search of a Spanish tutor, do not hesitate to book with Harriet Tuckett. As a native speaker she brings ease and clarity to each session. Her friendly manner makes the time pass pleasantly and well structured materials provided as homework consolidate your learning. Speaking as a ‘mature student’ of the Spanish language, (with a Spanish daughter-in-law) I thoroughly recommend Harriet, her knowledge and positive style brings enjoyment to the lessons.

I would highly recommend Harriet from the Spanish Academy. She is very friendly, patient and doesn’t mind repeating stuff until you understand. I have hourly lessons with her which go by very quickly. Looking forward to my Spanish holidays to put my Spanish into practice.

I have just completed the beginners course in Spanish.
My partner and I decided we would take up Spanish together after a holiday to Spain. We wanted to be able to understand the language more when visiting as we felt clueless sometimes in supermarkets and ordering taxis.

Harriet is a very good teacher! She makes the classes enjoyable and doesn’t overwhelm you with information. The hour long lesson on zoom would fly past each week and we came away feeling like we have gained more knowledge. Harriet never put you on the spot and if you didn’t quite get it right she would guide you in the right direction.

We had considered learning via apps available but so happy we did the course because the interaction during the lesson was fun and definitely a better way to learn over listening to a tape or app.

We feel confident in understanding; asking for items in a supermarket, ordering food in a restaurant and basic conversations in Spanish.

We are looking to continue into the new year with the next stages in becoming fluent in Spanish!

Highly recommend!

I’ve always wanted to learn another language but have never thought myself clever enough. I couldn’t have asked for a better teacher than Harriet and the Spanish Academy. The learning is tailored to your confidence and ability which makes every lesson enjoyable and engaging. The lessons fit well into my busy schedule as i can choose the most appropriate time for me, which makes things a lot easier. I continue to amaze myself from the progress i make! I’m now able to hold a basic conversation in Spanish which i never dreamed i could do! Honestly, best decision i’ve ever made.

Enjoying my lessons with Harriet- clear, constructive and fun.

Really enjoying my Spanish lessons with Harriet! Harriet explains everything really well and is friendly and approachable with any questions I may have ! I would definitely recommend Harriet , to anyone wanting to learn Spanish!

Emma is an excellent teacher. From the start she was the perfect balance of professional and friendly, instantly putting me at ease. Her presentation of the lessons was interactive, informative and fun. The literature was clear, well presented and easy to understand. The addition of follow up emails and relevant tasks were really helpful.
I really enjoyed the 5 week course. Couldn't ask for more - Learning how to shop, order in a restaurant and other important basic Italian phrases whilst laughing alongside an enthusiastic and encouraging teacher. Can't recommend Emma enough 😁
Grazie molto!

Harriett has been tutoring my son for a number of years, and is now working with him on the GCSE syllabus. Harriett is an excellent Spanish tutor, very patient, and constantly monitors my sons understanding of the areas covered.
Since becoming a teenager my son can be hard to push forward, and will always opt for the easy way out. Fortunately, Harriett always feeds back to me, good or bad, as to the standard of work produced during a lesson, and of that set for homework. Communication between us is key to ensure the correct standard is being achieved.
Harriett is very organised, always on time, and I would highly recommend both her and The Spanish Academy.

My partner and I have just finished a course of Spanish lessons with Harriet. We were complete beginners. We have enjoyed the sessions and found her style and interpersonal skills engaging and easy to learn from. The flexibility of the sessions allowed us to fit in the classes around other commitments and hence we did not feel pressure to put other things in hold.
We would definitely recommend Harriet to anyone thinking of starting, renewing or expanding their language skills.

Both my husband and I have been having Spanish lessons with Hattie for some time now , we both started at the same level but my husband has learned at a much quicker pace than me . I think this really does highlight how Hattie adjusts and plans the lessons around each person . Hattie is an excellent tutor who tailors each lesson to the individual , will ask questions , check learning and adjust or adapt accordingly . A fantastic tutor who we have no hesitation in recommending . So if your thinking about learning Spanish Look no further than Hattie she’s just fantastic !

We are very impressed with Harriet. She is a truly exceptional Spanish tutor who is very knowledgeable.

She is currently tutoring my child who is in Y10 and I can see she really thoroughly knows the exam boards syllabus and so knows what is required to achieve the top GCSE grade 9.

She is very kind and patient, and her lessons are well thought out and at the right speed and ability for my child. She is always happy to answer any questions I may have as a parent. She has analysed my child’s strengths and weaknesses and has even explained the best way to structure notes for the end of year exams.

Excellent teacher who I would highly recommend to anyone looking to learn or improve their Spanish. Give her a call and start your lessons you will not be disappointed.

Harriet has been an excellent tutor to my son and has helped him to get a top grade in his Spanish GCSE's. I would highly recommend Harriet to anybody considering to learn or improve their Spanish.

Emma is great. She delivers her lessons in such an easy to follow manner.
I have nothing but praise

Excellent tuition. My 11 year old daughter really enjoys being taught by Harriet.

I've had lessons with the Spanish Academy for two years and found Harriet to be reliable and approachable. Would recommend

If you really want to learn a new language, then look no further than Harriet and The Spanish Academy. You will get expert teaching, great advice, superb support, along with the flexibility to work at your own pace from home. Whether you are looking for just enough skills to order food, drink and accommodation or whether you want to chat away with locals like a native, you will not be disappointed with what Harriet and The Spanish Academy have to offer.

I have been learning to speak Spanish with The Spanish Academy for almost two years. My tutor, Harriet is lovely, very patient and is always happy to give the time to answer and discuss my questions. Harriet also tells me lots of useful information about the Spanish vocabulary and also the way of life in Spain that other language courses would not cover. I am enjoying learning a new language and feel that my Spanish is coming along well. I have no hesitation in recommending both The Spanish Academy and Harriet.

My husband and I have been having lessons for 3 years now. We always find the lessons enjoyable, as well educational. She has enormous patience, especially when coping with my husband! I would highly recommend Harriet to all. We are looking forward to our next 3 years 😎

Excellent teacher with enjoyable, well thought out lessons. Highly recommend.

Harriet is always patient and adjusts the pace so that I am always able to feel like I’m moving forward yet also given the opportunity to embed my learning. I never thought I would be able to understand and translate text as I am. I feel very excited to try my new language skills next time I visit Spain.
