Great guitar at a fair price with fast delivery

I’ve bought, sold and traded through Squealing Pigs. Each transaction has been spot on. Jack is a genuine guitar enthusiast, not just a dealer, with a genuine passion for the instruments being sold. They get rare and unusual guitars at great prices.
This particular transaction was a commission based sale at a good rate for me. They got a higher price than I would have been able to without the hassle of eBay/reverb. Delighted with how things have gone and payment arrived promptly as promised.

Having read their contact page and seen a headng for "Our Store" with a UK address, opening hours and a map, I was slightly miffed to be told when I arrived that they were an online store and any viewings were appointment only. Nowhere is this mentioned on their contact page etc.

The girl was pleasant and apologetic, but no effort was made to try and accommodate me or resolve the problem (even after she found out I had made a long journey), so I made my way back to the car without even seeing a guitar...

A 2 hour, 80 mile round trip for me. Hopefully this review will help others avoid making a wasted journey.

Guys, update your website...!

Edit: within a few hours of my review the company had updated their website and offered me a great discount on the guitar I was looking at (am heading there tomorrow to demo!).

guitar dispatch oversea safely in a good condition, well packing from the shop and good respond from the team.

However the condition didn’t meet my expectations, which is understandable given
oversight details of missing 1 document, so contact with Jack and he resolve problem immediately with a partial refund that i am happy with.

Offered what I could afford on a Murphy Lab Gibson SG. This was declined but matched by an offer separately.
Very fair.
Delivery was fast and Jack was great. The guitar needed a wee truss rod tweak but all was exactly as described on the website and Reverb. I get the feeling they are a very trustworthy company; family run.

Just completed a part exchange with Jack at Squealing Pig, and really pleased. They gave me a good price for my guitar (having tried a couple of places) arranged collection and honoured the price on receipt. It made it worth avoiding the hassle of eBay. The guitar I got in exchange was in great condition as described, well packed and delivered on a day convenient for me. I'd definitely recommend them if you're looking to part ex or get something high end. Communication through WhatsApp and email was good throughout as well.

Guitar (finally cleared customs) and arrived in fine shape. Jack was excellent and instrumental in cutting thru all of the US FDA and customs red tape. Guitar was fair-priced and is in excellent/mint condition. Plays and sounds great.

I bought my LP ‘59 re-issue over the phone from Squealing Pig after talking to their Jack Bellingham. He was very helpful and the guitar turned when he said it would. We had a good and fair discussion prior to doing the deal and I came away happy.

Very good selection of Gibson, Fender and PRS, plus a few alternative offerings, such as a Patrick James Eggle which I just acquired. Always worth checking out if you're looking for a second-hand guitar, often representing better value for money than newer models and most of their stock is in mint condition. Highly recommended.

I would like to tell anyone in the US or anywhere in the world that Squealing Pig is a great company to deal with. I had no trouble in getting my guitar to the US. They knew exactly what to do and how to pack it for overseas travel. More importantly they set up my guitar better than anyone has done. It plays perfectly.

These guys purchased a guitar from me on reverb portraying themselves as private individuals and not a business. After the guitar arrived with them they found a few issues with it and provided a quotation to correct them. As a result I agreed to pay them back a partial refund to make the necessary repairs. All communication then ceased and subsequently I see the guitar for sale on their business site at a considerable mark up and the description saying how good the guitar is which is not what they said to me. The moral of the story is don't trust these two faced conning snakes.
