Bad Program, Zero Customer Support

I received zero customer support. I am convinced the entire company is run by AI bots. I found the program to be counterintuitive and clunky for 2026. I do not know how or why anyone would choose to use it, except that I have tried and failed to cancel my subscription for 6 months in a row. The 66% who give one star on Trustpilot know exactly what I mean.

Squibler is a very good product

Squibler is a very good product. It does have a unique workflow, and it took me a bit of time to understand it (about 1 hour), and then it worked great. I'm not sure why there are so many bad reviews... my experience is that the software performed exactly the way it was intended, and the company did exactly what they said they would do. From that perspective, I couldn't be happier. I purchased one year, for $190 (if my memory serves me) and still have 5 months left. When I cancelled my subscription (so that it didn't automatically renew), all I had to do was click on the Cancel Subscription button... it couldn't have been easier. I immediately got a cancellation notice on my screen, and within minutes I had a confirmation in my email, as well. It's totally possible that I'll finish some of the other projects I'm working on, and will subscribe for another year at some point in the future.

Squibler is such a fun tool

Squibler is such a fun tool! I've been using it to create Fan Fiction mainly just for myself to enjoy. It's actually a little crazy how good the resulting stories are. Every time I generate one I do a bit of skimming just to check out a few parts. And I've currently started reading my first creation and it is so good! Somehow it really GETS the characters. It even surprises you by adding elements like locations, extra characters, etc. But always only in ways that make sense for the source and story.

I've had a few issues where sometimes it is hard to get a prompt to successfully generate. But it turns out not to be an issue with the prompt itself, because eventually it works without changing anything. At least so far, I've always been able to get it to work.

But I did reach out to support. They were very quick to respond and even helped me to get my current prompt to generate. They offered some great suggestions for me to try going forward. I haven't had the chance to try yet. As long as I have an idea on my list, I've been tending to generate a new one weekly. So, I'll try again soon. But, just the fact that they were so willing to help scores big points in my book.

I definitely hope it eventually becomes a smoother experience, but given that my experience so far has been that it always eventually works, it is fine for now. And Squibler is so much fun, resulting in such great content. I am hoping to be a user for a long time to come.

My account was automatically renewed…

My account was automatically renewed and my credit card charged even though I cancelled my subscription a year ago. They would not reverse the charge. I had to tell my cc company that a fraud had been committed.

Customer service was attrocious.

Not pleased at all.

This is an appalling product

This is an appalling product, followed up with even worse customer service. The treatment is in an exceptionally contemptuous way. Keep on closing my ticket, did not want to discuss an "Ex Gratia" refund after taking the time to highlight all the technical deficiencies their product has, and there are several not worth a penny. I will be seeking my money back

If I could rate them less than 1 star

If I could rate them less than 1 star, I would. The company employs very deceitful billing practices. They offer a tour of the site, but that is simply to nab your card information and then bill you for services you will never use. They should focus on building a product that people would find value in, and want to purchase, instead of unethical underhanded shadow billing. Will report them to BBB and dispute every single charge with Amex. Steer clear of this company!

Free trail trick

Okay here's my review at first I didn't think too much of them I mean the writing wasn't that great definitely obvious AI writing so I wouldn't give it a great writing quality credit but I was allowed to use a free trial which is fine I used a free trial I canceled it I then decided I was going to order it because I wanted to use it I hadn't found anything better here's where I ran into the park that pisses me off so I go and I sign up for it and they offered me another free trial so I'm like fine I'll sign up for the free trial and then I'll just wait for the free trial to end and I'll let it just Auto renew and then they charged my card not even though I was planning on getting it I'm still pissed off that they tricked me like that like why don't you just you just let me sign up for it the way I wanted to be like oh we're going to trick you into a free trial and then we're going to charge you that is so bullshit for that I am canceling my subscription I will never ever go through them again they can go to hell

The site is terrible

The site is terrible! I tried the trial and didn't like so I cancelled within an hour and today I get an email saying they're going to bill me $192. They make it impossible to close your account so buyer beware. These billing practices are exactly the kind of thing larger companies are being sued for as it's incredible deceptive. I love how they email you after cancelling, on the morning of billing. UNREAL

Not good.

****EDIT-PLEASE READ THE ADDED EDIT TO MY REVIEW****
Not good. I've had nothing but frustration since joining and now I wish I never had. It's taken 10 days and multiple emails to finally get my password reset. I wish I had never wasted all that money on the "pro" plan. It has simply been a less than enjoyable, satisfactory or "pro" experience thus far.

****EDIT- Here is some of our several email exchanges over the period even though Squibler states I only made one request only "24 hours ago"****
MY ORIGINAL REQUEST WAS ON 26 NOV 2025.
HERE IS ONE OF MY REPLYS ON 29 NOV 2025 with correct and updated information to make it VERY CLEAR what I was asking for:
"Hi,
This link doesn't work, at least not for me.
I have been trying to have my password reset for over a week now.
Can someone please reset my password for ********@hotmail.com preferably in the next 24 hours, and send me the new password so I can log in and actually start using my account.
It's been weeks since I paid for the pro access and I have been trying unsuccessfully so far to have my password reset.
Please reset the password for *******@hotmail.com and send me the new password.
Thank you."

On the 30 Nov 2025 Josh emailed:
"I see you have already left a negative review for us on Trustpilot, which is unfortunate. Many companies take between 24-48 hours to complete service requests, including ours.
I will chase up on your password request.
All best,"

TO WHICH I REPLIED:
"This is tiresome, and quite frankly you seem to just keep doubling down on not being able to keep track of your systems or records or emails.
To be perfectly honest, it explains a lot.
I originally contacted Squibler on the 22nd November. That is just a fact.
It appears that you and others didn't read and understand what I wrote in those emails, which was largely the basis of my first frustration and original complaint.
Then after trying to have it resolved by giving fairly obvious, basic and easy to follow instructions regarding which account I was trying to have my password reset on, I ended up giving up and started the process again.
I actually do have all the emails, if you need them.
Personally, it is much more hassle than it's worth.
I have edited my review. It is 100% accurate now, whether you believe it or not.
I have added a jpeg to this email that shows when I first contacted Squibler, how many times I tried to have it fixed by providing all the information on multiple occasions before giving up and starting again on the other email. I have the emails. You should too. Maybe review them and then have a chat to your team.
And then maybe just let it go and just accept it for what it is.
All the best."

Even after being in contact with Josh from Squibler many times, I did in fact agree to alter/edit my original comment just to be reasonable, not because my original review was incorrect.

So, here is the ACTUAL REPLY that JOSH FROM SQUIBLER SENT ME PRIOR TO ADDING THEIR COMMENT TO THIS REVIEW, and you can all decide for yourselves whether you think my review is fair, reasonable and TRUTHFUL, or whether Josh from Squibler is not being 100% accurate...

I thought this had been resolved amicably, but clearly someone from Squibler wanted to push this further by adding their comment to my review. Personally, like I had said to Josh, just let it go. But you didn't seem to be prepared to do that.
THAT EMAIL IS 100% THE REPLY THAT WAS SENT TO ME. Like I said to Josh, I have ALL the emails, even if he/Squibler doesn't.

In conclusion, I wasn't expecting my largest volume of work to be writing this review about Squibler. I was happy to just leave it how it was and move on.

Squibler is a SCAM

I tried Squibler because I thought it would be good after reading reviews for book writing AI software. However, after using it for less than 1 month I got busy at work and had to stop working on my project although I continued paying the $29/mth because I anticipated working on it in my spare time. 2 months later I finally had spare time again and went back to it. Although I was still being charged and was able to log in and could see my book, I was unable to edit it, and Squibler said I had to sign up for a subscription (which I already was paying for) in order to continue working on my book. I have paid nearly $90 for less than 1 month use of it and not gotten anything from it. I cannot even access my book, I can only see that it is there. If I want to access or edit it I will need to pay more money, yet I will be charged again in 10 days because I have a current subscription. So what gives? I need to have 2 subscriptions just to use 1? This is robbery, fraud, and lies. Don't use Squibler it's a scam.

Offered a free trial but reneged

Most sites won't offer you a free trial if you are no longer eligible but Squibler does. I had used it before so was pleasantly surprised that it was still offered. I figured it was because it had been quite a while since I last used it. I tried to get it to write a treatment but it did not do a good job so I quit the free trial but then was billed. They refuse to refund me, saying I should have read the terms of service that I was no longer eligible.

FRAUD AND THEFT

The company moved me from their free plan to a yearly subscription without my consent and out of the blue. It promotes FOREVER FREE then charges you $189.99, It is fraud and a scam of a company model. DO NOT EVEN THINK OF USING THIS PRODUCT!!!!!

Do not use it to create a manuscript

Do not use it to create a manuscript. Use it to help you with the manuscript you write. It can help make prose a bit more flowery and help you organize your stuff. Use of the elements is helpful, though it will often describe the character with the same verbiage every time. So, use it, but realize you cannot use it to write a story and get a great product. Only use it to help edit, then edit what the Squibler writes. It is not a cheat code.

My issues with the program... it's more the functional stuff. Perhaps that is more due to my years of use of Word.

The pics of things they create always seem to have horns, even when I tell it they do not have horns. Like, is there a demon helping it write?

Overall... price is decent, but there is probably better programs out there if you just want to cheat.

Horrible app it can do nothing coherently and your better off just writing it yourself unless your doing like 5 page kids books, and there are hardly any tools to help fix what it writes as it has so many limiters on what it can do that its basically useless SCAM

Good interface, but not intuitive; lack of references function

I signed up after searching for "how to get assistance writing a manuscript" and Squibler came up. I went to their website, I filled out the "enter your ideas here" form and it spit out a manuscript BUT without references!

I signed up to be a member and they told me there were a great number of upgrades and concerns with their interface and some of them were:

1. Lack of referencing functionality, especially lack of foot notes to enter for references.
2. Their interface is cumbersome, not very intuitive and lots of errors with copying and pasting information and formatting errors.

I tried a competitor and they were much better at least in the output of references for documents, but the competitor I tried had a basic "command line" Interface and not intricately figured with frames like Squibler is.

1. Their service, at least for me concerning lack of reliable referencing function AND their outputs do not include references for fact checking, is also a MAJOR impediment for non-fiction academic writers

I don't think I will keep a subscription past 1 month UNLESS they fix the above errors and make it especially suitable for non-fiction writers.

If they fix the concerns I MAY subscribe again because overall its a good deal.
