We had our wood burner fitted by David back in March and we honestly couldn’t be happier with it.

We didn’t really know where to start, but David made the whole process so much easier. From the first visit he took the time to explain everything, answer all our questions (there were quite a few!) and gave us loads of helpful advice without ever making us feel pressured.

The quality of the work is brilliant. You can tell David really cares about doing a proper job and pay attention to all the little details. David and John turned up when they said they would, kept everything as tidy as possible, and the finished result looks fantastic.

If you’re thinking about getting a wood burner, here are a few things you may find helpful:

Where do you start?
Find someone who knows their stuff and is happy to talk you through the options. We were completely new to it all, and having someone explain things properly made all the difference.

Is it messy?
It is a bit messy, so you should expect to do some cleaning afterwards, but David and John took extra care to keep the dust and dirt contained to one room. That made a huge difference and meant the rest of the house stayed pretty much untouched.

Will you need to decorate afterwards?
Possibly a little, depending on your room, but we didn’t have anywhere near as much to do as we expected. David was also able to decorate behind the stove prior to the final fit, which was a great bonus. Because the work was done so neatly and the mess was kept so well contained, there wasn’t much to sort out afterwards.

Is it expensive?
It’s definitely an investment, but there are different stove options available, so David can help you find something that works with your budget. It’s not something you want cutting corners on, but you don’t necessarily have to go for the most expensive option either.

If you’re looking for someone to fit a wood burner, we’d happily recommend David. Great workmanship, really professional, friendly, and nothing was ever too much trouble. We’re so pleased with ours and wish we’d had it done years ago!

David did a brilliant job replacing an existing fireplace with a stove including fitting an external chimney. Gave great advice at the start and all the way through for the best solution with the space. Also gave a detailed list of work needed and prices. Can't believe there's anyone out there who knows more about fireplaces than David and a great guy to deal with.

This is our second time working with David, his knowledge and experience really shines through and his attention to detail is exceptional. We went for quite a niche unique look for our stove and he went out of his way to accommodate our needs and also was really surprised how quickly he was able to book us in for the job. David assessed the project, gave us invaluable advice at every stage, and provided a very detailed and itemised quotation. John did a really great job on the chimney stack. The job got more complex as the original brick fireplace and back boiler pipework were uncovered. David dealt with it all. We chose tiles for the hearth and his attention to detail was fantastic. The finished fireplace is above and beyond expectation. We highly recommend David and the team.

David came around and looked at the fireplace and gave us tones of different options to choose from. Allows us to keep the original brick in the fireplace, something no one else offered. The work was carried out over 3 days, David was professional throughout this period. Keep it clean and tidy. He took incredible care in all the small detail which show how brilliant of a craftsman he is. Highly recommended.

We approach David and his team following a recommendation from our builder. They have done an amazing job building our false chimney and installing a log burner. David went above and beyond to source the materials to create the look we were after. We can’t recommend him highly enough.

David very kindly came out to look at the work a couple of times before finalising the details of the job. Once he started the work, with the help of his colleague John, they worked tirelessly and meticulously remodelling the opening, fitting the hearth and surround, lining the chimney and fitting the stove. David was recommended to me by a friend for installation of a wood burner. His quotation was very detailed giving us several options, separately priced.
He was very helpful in answering my queries prior to the installation. We had a wood burner installed, reopening and lining the fireplace ( previously an enclosed open fire), a new slate hearth and refitting the wooden oak mantelpiece and surround we already had. David was very thorough in preparation and protecting carpets etc and clearing up on completion. He was meticulous in his work and we are very pleased with the installation

David was easy to contact, and came to do an initial home survey. Once complete the job was booked in to install a flue and wood burner.

The work that’s been done is top notch and David is such a nice gentleman to deal with.

So the team came to my house on Wednesday 8th Jan - my fire place was well off centre which they explained to me and asked if I was happy to go on. I said yes and the team set about the installation.

They not only did an excellent job but moved the fire place opening to make it central to the room.

The team are very friendly and worked hard to complete an excellent job.
