I joined since I’m on a new diet to solve some health issues. Part of that is organic produce. Well it turns out Sunbasket has no obligation to actually provide that, they will just ship you non organic (cheaper) produce and only a note in the bag of food to let you know, no forewarning.

It’s also more expensive and has worse meals than all other boxes I’ve had in the past.

They used to have good tasting meals but they have goon down hill in the past three or four months. They keep repeating the same options over and over and they are often too spicy or weird tasting. the decline seems to have begun when they stopped putting a lot of meals in cardboard boxes and switched the plastic containers

I was genuinely looking forward to trying Sunbasket and had my first delivery scheduled. Unfortunately, before it even arrived, I discovered that many of the meals I was interested in were already sold out nearly four weeks in advance.
I contacted customer service—not to cancel, but to express concern that routinely offering meals customers cannot actually order seems like a significant flaw in an otherwise appealing business model. I specifically stated that "if this continued", I would "likely cancel after my September 6 delivery".
Sunbasket's response? They immediately canceled my account.
No explanation regarding the widespread lack of availability. No attempt to address my concern. No effort to retain a brand-new customer. They simply canceled a subscription I had "not asked them to cancel".
It's difficult to evaluate the food when the customer-service experience ended the relationship before my first box even arrived. An extraordinarily poor introduction to a company I had been excited to try.

I was looking for a clean food delivery service. They advertise organic ingredients but it’s only the produce, the meat and fish are not organic. The portions are tiny, barely enough for one person and one meal costs $27.6, you could get all organic ingredients and have leftovers for that price at a supermarket. But the worst part is their customer service is atrocious. They advertise a customer service phone number with live agents available 6am to 8pm M-F. But good luck getting anyone on the phone, it’s all AI and the constant message is “our representatives are currently offline”. Yes you could email and text but even when you request a call back via text with a supposed live agent, they will not connect you or have someone call you back. There is zero accommodation. Good luck canceling an order once’s it’s been automatically ordered and picked for you. Once charged even if the order hasn’t yet been shipped they will not cancel or refund you. It’s a sham, just spend that almost $30 per meal at a restaurant at least you’ll get a full plate of food for that not two tiny pieces of chicken that isn’t even organic.

I love Sun Basket! The quality of the food is great. The ability to select and stick with a meal plan has been important to me. I want to avoid processed foods and I enjoy cooking pure ingredients while knowing what I am consuming. I have learned many new techniques and cooking strategies from the detailed instructions. They are easy to follow and generally don’t take a long time to prepare. My choices are generally for the easy and quick recipes. I’ve learn that delicious food does not need to be complicated and their menu items are always well balanced and delicious. I trust them to tell me the level of spice for selected ingredients so I’m never surprised with something I cannot eat. They have been a reliable part of my daily life and helped me to achieve better health outcomes. My life in general has improved dramatically and I often tell my friends I attribute much of that to Sun Basket for my rehabilitation. That’s why I’ve been a weekly customer since 2019. The world has changed dramatically but Sun Basket has managed to weather the storms and survive with attention to quantity ingredients and excellent customer service. When things don’t work out perfectly which doesn’t happen often, they address the issues quickly and I never feel alone or abandoned. They truly care and it shows.

They violate the Restore Online Shoppers' Confidence Act (ROSCA). They don’t allow easy cancellation online or to delete credit cards. They charged a credit card that expired 3 years ago and shipped to an old address, I was set to skip but they did it anyway as I can see from reviews they have done to others. I am in the process of filing a compliant with the FTC which Sunbasket rep Hailey so arrogantly encouraged me to do

In response to their response of 8-21-2026. I am so sorry you feel this way too. If you truly had easy cancellation then you wouldn’t have had the numerous complaints related to this. I hope you updated your website now that you’ve been made aware of the legalities

Pricey but delicious! I mean, crazy-good, totally out-of-the-dinner-box, yummylicious!!

The meals taste good and are healthy. We get vegetarian meals, and there is a decent selection. We use them because they have organic meals, and usually there are not too many non organic substitutions. Customer service helps us when there are issues. We have been with them for a long time.

Great recipes that offer variety while being super-healthy and delicious.

Quality ingredients, a robust selection of meals, and reliable delivery make this service stand out. The website is also easy to use, making it simple to browse and customize meal selections each week.

Ingredients better quality than most competitors and generally appreciate their recipes. Some issues with not compensating adequately when recipes have missed repeatedly key items. If they were more understanding how frustrating that was and compensated appropriately then I would give a higher rating. Otherwise they provide a very helpful service.

I rated Sunbasket 5 stars for over 8 years. Recent changes reduced this rating to 4 stars, and that reflects loyalty and familiarity in addition to being easier for me to order and use Sunbasket than competitors. Recipe choices (especially Paleo) are very limited and not as interesting. Menu choices are reduced and other 5 star elements of their service is lower. Even submitting this review took multiple attempts.

We have been doing Sun Basket for years. I love the creative meals, the sauces, their spices, and the quality. I do not like that they do not supply a Wild Caught salmon. That is my biggest complaint!

Very clean and fresh ingredients and the best meal kit service for healthy eating/dieting. My partner and I have been able to follow a Mediterranean diet and achieve our target weight range through Sunbasket. There are occasional issues with delivery/packaging and lately prices have risen, but that isn’t necessarily Sunbasket’s fault.

Recipes are always delicious. I love how much time it saves me not to have to meal plan or shop. Plus save $$ and calories from not eating out as much.

Trustyworthy delivery of food. Simple preparation with mostly organic, fresh ingredients. I would like a wider selection of menu choices. Some recipes are similar to ones already sent. Overall, the food and menus fit my needs for convenience and taste.

I started Sunbasket for the healthy ready-made meal options. They were good at the start but I did find after a few months in that the options started feeling limited and repetitive, and that they weren't always enough for a full meal.

My orders are usually great, but when there is a problem, Sunbasket always makes it right. I have expanded my repertoire of recipes thanks to many recipes from Sunbasket….

I've used SunBasket for the past few years for when times are busy with work/travel and I don't have the time or energy to prepare a healthy meal. The creative and dietary-specific recipes - in addition to being able to order a combination of fresh pre-made and meal kits - has been a great way to try new things while staying on track with my health and budget. Plus love the sustainable packaging!
