Delivery Failure.

I write this with huge sadness and great disappointment. Only a matter of days after leaving Sunspel a 10/10 review, (I have been wearing Sunspel for over 60 years), Sunspel let me down.
On Saturday, and yesterday, I bought a few items from my local store, (Duke of York Square Chelsea London); and yesterday morning I bought some items, including a birthday present for my son for tomorrow. I requested that the stuff I bought online yesterday be delivered to my Cotswolds home.
Regrettably Sunspel used the legendary unhelpful DPD as its preferred delivery company. Despite my housekeeper being in, DPD failed to wait for her to answer the door. It then failed to leave the parcel with my neighbour, in accordance with my standing instructions to DPD; it failed to leave the parcel in my garage, again in accordance with my standing instructions to DPD; but it did leave the parcel at a collection point locally, as my standing instructions to DPD stipulate. For reasons known only to DPD it then returned to the local collection point and collected the parcel. DPD then took the parcel to its Gloucester depot.
I contacted DPD and it refused to deliver the parcel, even though it contains a birthday present for tomorrow. DPD refused to discuss any details and instructed me to contact Sunspel.
Upon any construction this is unreasonable and extremely disappointing service. From DPD it is expected; its service is generally unacceptably inferior to others. From Sunspel such conduct is entirely unexpected; though hugely disappointing. Wish I’d shopped at Orlebar Brown.

T shirts are very expensive and quality is remarkably poor. Collars don’t stretch over your head and are too thin. T shirt quickly loses shape. Prone to bleach spots. Refunds take 28 days and difficult to get through to customer services. Returns aren’t free. Apart from that great!

I have been a loyal customer of this company and have purchased various items from them, including polo t-shirts, shoes, and jackets. However, I have noticed a decline in the quality of their products lately.

I bought six T-shirts that all shrank, despite proper care, and despite reaching out to the company for assistance, I have received no response.

I bought a sea island cotton polo shirt and I am extremely disappointed with it. After one careful wash the shirt is badly misshapened. These shirts are not cheap and this sort of thing should not happen.

Having brought quite a few things from Sunspel I have found the choice, quality and price to be competitive with other brands. I have no issues with washing or colours fading. Just wish they would venture into more brighter colours also maybe some patterned summer short sleeved straight bottom short sleeved shirts

Bei der Bestellung gab ich eine falsche Lieferadresse an. Das merkte ich erst später. Eine Info an den Customer Service genügte, ich bekam direkt eine Antwort. Schnelle Lieferung und gute Qualität des Rivera Polo Shirts.

Pay to return items. Terrible fit which is a shame as quality fabric. PAY TO RETURN ITEMS? w!f? that's a pretty old school policy which really doesn't cut it in these days of internet shopping. CEO needs to take a long look at these reviews and make some changes. It better not take 28 days to process my £800 quid refund....

Bei T-Shirt habe ich immer Größe S bei Sunspel. Das Polohemd fällt leider viel Größer aus, ich mußte es zurücksenden. Die Retouren müssen leider komplett vom Kunden bezahlt werden, in die Niederlande ist das entsprechend teuer. Leider als Päckchen versandt, das ist jetzt verschollen. Über 120 Euro sind verloren. Das machen die meisten anderen Onlineshops deutlich besser.

Spent over 500 quid in store, wasn’t allowed to use the toilet for a wee, staff only! … ridiculous

Excellent products of the highest quality. Great service and return policy. Would highly recommend.

Bought a riviera t-shirt. Wore it once. Washed at 30°. The collar is now completely misshapen and all loose. It ruins the whole look of the t-shirt. Expensive t-shirt but garbage in all honesty. Avoid this brand. I won't be back.

I bought 2 polo tops very expensive I wore them on holiday only for them to be what I describe as bleached by the sun surly this is a fault in materials I have emailed but no response from them has anyone else had this issue

Sunspel makes truly excellent, simple, classic clothing. I really don't think that you can beat them from a product perspective. The shopping experience is also always a great one. I also now see that there is a new website which looks great and works really well!

I bought a couple of t-shirts from their online store.

After washing by hand, and using a detergent for coloured items, there was a white stain on the t-shirt.

I queried this via email, and was told that it was due to using a bleaching agent.

I replied stating that no bleaching agent was used during washing the garment.

There has been no reply to this email.

I expected better after-sales service and would not buy from Sunspel in the future.

I buy a lot from sunspel, and 90%+ of the time have been very happy. I love their loopback sweatshirts, sea island cotton briefs and sweatshirts and of course the classic tee. I've also bought cashmere and woollen items on many occasions which have served me well. I do think they could improve the returns process in making it cheaper and streamlining the time. But aside from that it's a great company.

Generally customer services when needed have been great, I had some issues post brexit with DPD/DHL not understanding rules, 1 quick email to sunspel and it all got taken care of. That all seems ironed out now and it's back to being hassle free to buy their clothes in Europe.

I would like to see a few more english made products as 70%+ of what I buy is made in Portugal and i'd like to see a bit more balance

Habe ein Shirt bestellt und wollte ex zurückgeben, da es nicht passte. Die Annahme wurde von der niederländischen Firma, welche die Retouren abwickelt abgelehnt ohne Angabe eines Grundes. Musste sowohl die Paket-als auch die Rücknahme bezahlen. Habe sunspel kontaktiert, Fotos des Pakets und Einlieferungsschein beigefügt. Nach einigem hin und her kam die Empfehlung ich doll das Paket nochmal an die gleiche Adresse schicken, keiner weiß warum das Paket zurückgewiesen wurde. Als Kulanz wurde mir angeboten, wenn ich die Quittung schicke, bekomme ich einen Gutschein für den nächsten Einkauf. Einfach frech. Werde sicherlich nichts mehr bestellen.

Refunding may take up to 28 days? Laughably long. Delays due to Covid are long past, nor is having a sale on selected items a valid reason. It shouldn’t take more than a week.

Update June 9th:
I just checked, but my online statement still doesn’t show that the return’s been credited.

excellent quality reasonable prices colour variety and most of all great staff

I purchased a Riviera T shirt. The quality is fine and the delivery was prompt. I mistakenly thought that these T shirts are made in the UK whereas they are made in Portugal. I should have ordered the Classic T shirt which is made in the UK as I like to support UK manufacturers. Lesson learnt - I need to pay more attention when making online purchases.
