Please be very careful when renting with swetenhams we have had multiple problems when the tenancy was coming to and end and mistreated horrendously , the estate agent had a lack of care for us as tenants and now we have waited 5+ weeks for our deposit back and been told next week each time we ask. It’s a constant cat and mouse chase and you will feel deflated everytime you speak to them

WORST ESTATE AGENTS - Chester & Frodsham both let us down - They refused to contact Area Manager Colin - Colin contact us - AWFUL STAFF

Please think twice about renting a property through Swetenhams Estate Agency.
You don't get your deposit back and they do nothing to help to get it repaid. After the 8 years they have no legal right to keep my deposit but they do.
Do not rent or buy any property from my previous landlady she is being unfair and will take your money with no thought.
My idea for you is "do not return the keys until you get your deposit back". That was my mistake.
This is unfair and wrong and the agency won't get involved which is wrong - this why I paid agency fees.
Very unhelpful staff in the lettings department.

Swettenham's Northwich took on a 6 month 'full management' contract for our home in Sandiway in Aug 2024. The tenant stole a fireplace, wooden flooring, custom made blinds from all windows, light fittings, redecorated and re-modelled, and the agent was aware of this in Nov 2024. They failed to notify us or to enforce the tenancy agreement with the tenant instead trying to convince us to sell the house to the tenant. Overall the cost to us was over 10k, a police investigation we will need to file a claim in court now too. The deposit insurance scheme paid out 2,600. We paid the agent 1500 in management fees and they are refusing to refund it all. Do not use this agent, they are incompetent and dishonest.

What can I say! The worst company for ripping you off and happy to take your money at the same time. I am a landlord with a good portfolio of properties and got Swetenhams to look after one, the property is in a worse state now that I could ever imagine. They told me to give 3 months notice if I wanted to manage the property myself and change that later to 6 months, they took £120 for statement fees which I told them I did not what. I had a property willing to sell with them and nobody rang me back after I contacted them twice. So I let currans sell the house for me which they behaved like professionals. Any landlords out there specifically in these testing times really be careful which estate agents look after your property as you could lose it. ☹️

Deserve -1 at winsford under value properties to help locals get them at a low price.
They manipulate the market if you’re not a local.
Shame on you !

Absolutely fantastic, professional and "gentlemanly" service from Ryan Squirrel at the Winsford branch. We are not yet over the line due to delays at the sellers end and general Solicitor malaise but Ryan has accompanied several viewings of the property for us as well as letting in trades to enable them to quote. Will definitely keep in touch and seek Ryan's help in the future. You are lucky to have him Swetenhams!

I rented a flat from Swetenhams. I was left with no heating and no cooker for 57 days! There was no means to log the issues and when I called Swetenhams associates, I was told that they would try but that "they were very busy!"

Me and my partner have been private tenants previously so didn’t have a clue how it all works through an agency from the minute we viewed the property we were greeted by April Oakes who was so lovely, professional and so helpful April made our experience and I would highly recommend her as an individual she went above and beyond to make this as easy as possible for us we are extremely happy clients can’t even explain how much weight was off our shoulders when we put it in Aprils hands. We went into the branch itself and we had the best experience everyone was so lovely. April you really helped us and for that I cannot recommend swetenhams enough.

Terrible service, didnt contact you after viewings, little to no communication, wouldnt recommend. Went to a local independent estate agent after instead and they are a million times better

I have recently used Swetenhams Northwich branch for my mortgage and transfer of equity, Georgia Greenwood has been so helpful and professional, keeping me update every step of the way and offering me great advise, she got me a really good deal and I could not be happier. Would highly recommend.

I have just tried to book a viewing via this estate agent. The staff were utterly obstructive. I urge any vendors in the area looking to list a property to avoid this agent at all costs.

Dreadful. Wind you in with their extras. Want you to pay for pay for the conveyancing before property is listed.
And the solicitors really harass.
The people in office actually have a personal opinion of the property.
Zero communication.
Vendors arrive and you are not informed.
Avoid at costs
