Poor customer service and installation for solar panels. They took total advantage of an elderly person with solar panel installation. No proper follow up. Almost 6 months after installing and paying in full the panels were not connected properly. They out source all work. They took total advantage of an elderly person saying upgrades needed which were paid for as extra to the company but not carried out. Extremely poor customer service. Very difficult to follow up as they delay returning calls and it's very difficult for elderly person to navigate

Excellent service from start to finish. Everything was very well explained and quote was perfectly itemised. Work on the day was efficient, clean and extremely professional. Highly recommended.

Like all of these types of services, it's the ones who can communicate, support and build trust that win out as leaders.

Their sales rep was good at his job. Pushy, resilient but clearly all about the sale, which is standard and fair.

However, he communicated that there might be room to fit more on our roof than previously thought but he didn't later confirm.

The opening pitch was about saving money through a group scheme that was never properly explained so we soon wrote it off as BS.

Today, the panels are working out well and the app is handy, but the contractors disappeared without saying goodbye after fitting them.

The next day that it rained, I noticed a new heavy drip landing just beside my front door.

Later when it was mentioned to Swyft's phone team that one of the gutter hangers was damaged by their contractors, there was a half hearted effort to get someone out to fix it, which didn't happen in the end.

If trust is important to you, just know that they could not execute a simple fix like this and have passed the cost of the (small) repair on to us.

They're clearly struggling operationally so it's a bit of a worry if later support is required, as this typically follows sales in terms of strategic priority in a growing company.

Thankfully there is a range of service providers to choose from, and more affordable, so definitely shop around and have your guard up when they try to get you to pay the 100 euro deposit for the SEI grant early on. Even a thousand euro cheaper with better or equal service will be a win.

I haven't jumped at their referral scheme as a result following 2 sets of neighbours enquiring about our panels since installed. Hence, I wouldn't recommend - try your luck elsewhere in my experience.

Excellent customer service. The install itself was very efficient and completed on time. Engineer was personable and provided clear instructions on how to use the boiler.

Just had our system installed and it was an excellent experience from start to finish. Our salesman Chris couldn't have been kinder or more helpful. He advised us every step of the way, answering all our questions and explained the process very well. I'm very happy with the system he suggested would suit our electricity usage. The installation was quick and tidy and the app is very easy to understand. I would definitely recommend this company to anyone.

We couldn't be happier with the service Dylan provided from start to finish. He was professional, knowledgeable, and made the whole solar panel installation process straightforward and stress-free. He took the time to answer all of our questions and kept us informed every step of the way.
What really stood out was his after-sales support. Months after the installation, we had a query, and Dylan went completely out of his way to help us, responding quickly and making sure everything was resolved. That level of customer service is rare these days and speaks volumes about his commitment to his customers.

I cannot recommend Swyft Energy enough. From start to finish, they made the whole experience of replacing my gas boiler a delight. Extremely efficient service, with delightful staff who took the time to explain everything in simple English. Follow-on telephone call ensued to ensure everything in working order. They even applied for my 10 year warranty certificate.

After contacting about 4 different solar installers we decided to go with Bord gáis energy. Everyone we dealt with from Andreas who arrived on site to design and scale a suitable system for our needs, Chris who became our point of contact from then on to both the roofing and electricial teams everyone to a man were really excellent, always on hand at every step of the process and readily available to answer any questions as well as giving real advice. The work was completed in one day and as scheduled. The quality and neatness of the work itself was outstanding. The hand over and and explanation on how the system works and the use of the App itself was all made very simple and clear. The level of professionalism shown by the people we dealt with is what one would expect from a large company such as Bord gais energy and its exactly the reason we went with them.

The Sigenergy system with 15 solar panels and 15kw of battery storage is a game changer. In the 22 days since install solar has accounted for over 600kwh with over 300kwh exported and the 15kw battery which is charged on solar only at the moment is more than covering any electricity requirments during the time between sunset and sunrise and have only required 3kwh from the grid in all that time which is impressive for a family of 6 with a heatpump. With credit built up from exporting the excess to the grid in summer months together with a smart tarrif with cheap night rate to charge the batteries in the winter months we look forward to making huge savings on energy bills.

Excellent service and Chris Leahy was very helpful. Would highly recommend Swyft to get the job done and after sales care. Full 5 Stars all the way through.

From the initial enquiry up to installation the customer service was super efficient. Chris explained everything and followed up with an email within an hour after calling to the house. There were no delays and the installation team arrived on time and had the solar panels fitting within a few hours. There was minimum interruption while the electrics were being completed. Highly recommend Bord Gais Swift energy.

I recently had solar panels installed through Swyft / Bord Gáis Energy and overall I'm very happy with the experience.

Chris, my salesperson, was excellent from the start. He was knowledgeable, helpful, and took the time to answer all of my questions without any pressure. Ken, the electrician who carried out the installation, was also fantastic. He was professional, friendly, and his workmanship was excellent. Both were a credit to the company and made the process straightforward and stress-free.

The only area that could be improved is customer support from the office. I found it quite difficult to get in contact with customer care staff when I needed assistance, and responses were not always easy to obtain. While everything has gone smoothly so far and I hope I won't need support in the future, it does leave me slightly concerned about how easy it would be to get help if an issue were to arise.

That said, the quality of the installation and the service provided by Chris and Ken were excellent, and I would recommend Swyft / Bord Gáis Energy for solar installations based on my experience.

I recently got solar panels installed from Swyft Energy / Bord Gais Energy. The experience from start to finish was very professional from Chris the assessor to the electricians and roofers. However, communication from the office was lacking but Ashley in the office sorted this out once it was brought to their attention. Overall would highly recommend.

Awful, avoid. It is almost a year since my system was installed. It was not a seamless process. Initially everything was excellent and I felt I got good advice from John the sales rep and help with the grant application. The installation process was terrible, the electrician who carried out the installation was totally inappropriate, asking the young farm worker to lift him up with the farm loader to do the job without asking my permission, this is a farm vehicle used for lifting bales etc. not a working from height vehicle. He also left boxes and cable thrown around. If they had been neatly left undercover I would have gladly recycled them but they were left out and got blown around and rained on. Our system then took a month after installation to get commission, so for the time of the year when most energy is generated I lost out. I chose Swift Energy because of the Bord Gais affiliation, although I had received cheaper quotes from other companies, I wish I hadn’t blindly felt reassured by a big name. I continued to have large electricity bills until March despite contacting Swift for advice. Following a conversation with my neighbour who had photovoltaic’s installed at a similar time and hearing that he virtually had no electricity bills I couldn’t believe it. My neighbour offered to look at how my system was set up through the app and he spent time setting everything up. Since then my bills are half the price they were. I felt the support around setting up the system correctly to maximise the energy and cost saving was just terrible, I wonder do they actually understand it themselves. There are many great people working in this company who have been very helpful but I think that it is just disorganised. I have many farming friends who are seriously looking at installing solar systems but unfortunately when they ask me would I recommend Swift, it’s a big NO from me.

unfortunately a very poor experience, customer services who never ring back and a half completed installation with no promised date of completion. Leaves me with little confidence that the waranty will be worth anything if we eventually get our 20 solar panels connected and experience an issue later on.

I am an existing customer looking to add on extra solar panels. Despite several contacts, booking 4 appointments for a callback and speaking to the support line, all happening since April 2026, noone contacted back yet and looks like the company is not interested in the business. Have regrets as should have chosen other reputable companies on the market at the outset.

Avoid dealing with this company. They operate under the Bord Gáis name, but the experience reflects the same practices as the old Swyft Solar. They require upfront payments for what appear to be superficial or misleading assessments, only to later claim that additional home upgrades are necessary—effectively locking you into further costs. Additionally, they do not handle feedback or complaints in a professional or responsive manner.

Avoid at all costs!
We ordered solar panels in November. They’ve been installed since November and we’re still waiting for their electrician to connect them and install an ev charger. It’s now almost June. Unfortunately we paid everything up front and it’s impossible to contact them as they won’t answer our calls. From day one the customer service has been abysmal.
