Car was unusable for the first two weeks
didn’t buy a heap of junk, I paid not far off 30,000 for one of their cars. Told them not to bother machine polishing it as this was adding further delays. Picked it up and it had moss on it 😆. Got 10 minutes down the road and a puncture repaired run flat that these guys had put on the car, went flat, stranding me on the motorway with my little girl in the car. Realised they were run flats. Limped to a services. Bought a can of tyre weld and called them immediately. Their words were, and I quote, “oh I thought we’d fixed that. Just replace it and we’ll pay for it.”
They didn’t. When the time came they claimed they only wanted me to get a quote, and that they can get 4 tyres for the price I paid for one. They sent 50% in the end.
Another ten minutes later, still on day one, limping home with a puncture, a warning light. Too much engine oil. Great. Car goes into breakdown mode and wants to call Mercedes for me. This problem took a week to fix, no dipstick, no quick fix, car up on a lift, underside panels removed and basically a full engine oil replacement.
Still in week one, a second puncture, yet another puncture repaired run flat (Pirelli advise against puncture repairing run flats). This time it’s worse though. It’s not actually the tyre, it’s the wheel. Already crack repaired, it has 4 other cracks. I got a quote for these to be repaired and in fairness they paid it, and quickly. They also offered a new set of 4 wheels so credit where it’s due but that wheel should never have been fitted to the car in the first place in that condition. It certainly wasn’t as a result of me using the car, thanks to problem 1 and 2.
It was all relatively minor issues but all entirely of their own doing and I had a car I couldn’t use for the first two weeks. These guys put the wheels and tyres on, it’s part of their process, along with very flimsy side skirts, but decent splitters and spoilers. One thing I’d say is definitely check the car out thoroughly, get an independent inspection done. The cars look nothing like their pictures due to the lights used when photographed. My car was a totally different colour in reality to what was expected. Looked like a silver. Was in fact a dark grey and the lights hide a world of scratches.
Nice guys, great communication until money has changed hands, then I personally found it hard work getting a reply. Cars are being pimped on the cheap and they cannot be forgiven for fitting knackered tyres and wheels to a car. In the end the run flats on bigger wheels ruined the ride anyway and I was forever worrying about another puncture with today’s pot hole strewn roads. I put the car back on 19s instead of 20s and got rid of the run flats.
With everything sorted it’s a great car, but it took me the first month to get it right. It shouldn’t be that hard. Would I buy another from them? Nope. Sadly not. I had read a number of bad reviews but gave them the benefit of the doubt, only to have the negative experience I’d feared. Record every conversation. I wish I had done.
