One word - AVOID
On 13 February, I attempted to connect electricity with Tango Energy. Despite ensuring all switches were off, I received an after-hours SMS stating the connection failed because ‘the main switches were in the on position.’ This was incorrect. The same issue occurred on 14 February. When I called Tango Energy’s customer service they informed me they couldn’t attempt another connection until 18 February, which would have left me without power over the weekend and Monday making it a total of five days.
Their customer service was unhelpful and completely dismissive. Frustrated, I contacted the Energy Ombudsman, who promptly intervened. Within 15 minutes of their directive, my electricity was connected - a resolution I attribute entirely to the Ombudsman rather than Tango Energy acting ethically.
This experience highlights Tango Energy’s poor communication, lack of urgency, and bad customer service. I rarely leave 1-star reviews, but I strongly advise others to consider alternative providers to Tango Energy. Their online reviews across other platforms paint a consistently bleak picture for the customer.
I have ceased communication with Tango Energy’s Customer Relations Team on the basis of their unconscionable conduct, and will leave my matter in the hands of the Energy and Water Ombudsman.
