Amazing safari experience for my bday

Hashim was the best! He made my first safari experience unforgettable - I felt safe the entire time as a solo female traveler, he was kind and knowledgeable on the country and animals, drove to the best spots for some amazing closeups with so many animals and I even got to see the big 5!!

Safari with heart
We have booked a 9 day safari with Tanzania Specialist. The communication with our agent Olosotu went very smoothly, he was very helpful and gave us many useful tips how to put the route and the safari together, so we have the best experience in the end. From day one all worked perfect, from the pick-up at the airport, first transfer to our hotel, meeting with our guide and driver Remi and of course the safari itself.
Our guide Remi is an extraordinary person. Excellent driver and the best animal spotter ever. And the best is, he can do it simultaneously - drive the car safely through the shaky routs in the parks (Africa massage ;-)), spot animals (even if they are far or hidden in the gras) communicate with the other guides, explain. He is a very nice person, funny but also very responsible, always having the wishes and the wellbeing of the guests on his mind. Thanks to his experience Remi knows what is the best and the safest distance to the animals, so they do not feel menaced and stressed. If you let him to use his experience and knowledge Remi will literally guide you to the best places and adventure. If you wish to deepen your knowledge, Remi is ready to explain or to give you his birds and animals book.
We also had the "pleasure" to experience of a flat tire in the middle of Serengeti, only a few meters away from a cheetah couple. But all went well and thanks to the help of another Tanzania specialist driver and a team work of all of us we managed also this situation. Our impression is that the company is highly professional, the guides are in close contact to each other and also to the company base, we met technical rescue teams in the parks, ready to help in difficult situation.
We highly recommend Tanzania Specialist and thank again Olosotu and Remi for the unforgettable experience.

Our best family adventure
From start to finish our dream Safari came to life! Our advisor George listened to our wants and needs and tailored our trip perfectly. Readily available for questions, phone calls, and advice. The online team was also very helpful with any concerns. Our bush camps and hotels were all lovely and each played a unique role in our adventure also! From rest and refresh to in the park authentic bush camps to enjoy the full sounds of nature. Upon arrival to Kilimanjaro airport our Safari tour guide Abdul took over and made the trip unforgettable. Full of knowledge, from animals to Tanzanian culture and everything in between. He knew exactly what we wanted from our adventure and was willing to make it happen. By offering early game drives, choosing wonderful lunch stops, and driving us around hours on end and keeping our 9 year old in mind when she was clearly tired for the day. What an amazing trip

excellent, outstanding company and experience
WOW, what can I say, my husband and I spent 8 days on safari and 8 days in Zanzibar with Tanzania Specialists and I can honestly say from start to finish what a fantastic experience. We could not fault the company, the staff or the hotels one bit. We had a mix up with our dates by a few months and without hesitation they were organised and rearranged and with 16 days numerous hotels and flights that was no mean feat so thank you for making that such a pleasant and unstressful time.
It ran smoothly from the moment we arrived until we left, we honestly will travel with no one else on our next trip.
Our driver/guide was simply amazing and gave us the best experience and made sure we seen the top 5 and more with 8 days of long driving to make sure we had the best trip, wow honestly thank you.
Every hotel we stayed at were exceptional particularly the manyara best view lodge, simply stunning. We enjoyed every day on safari be it, arusha, or the Serengeti but lake manyara for us was a real surprise but we just had the best days out where ever we were.

Planning Stressful, Execution Fine
Once I got past the planning part, which was somewhat painful due to lack of engagement/follow up and failure to incorporate requested changes by the assigned specialist, the trip went smoothly and my daughter and I had a great experience. Our guide was competent, kind and accommodating, as were the staff at the hotels. Manyara Best View really did have one of the best views - it was quite special.

Thanks a million to our friendly, warm and unbelievable knowledgeable guide John-Paul. He could answer any question we had about the wildlife, about Tanzania and it`s culture. He was excellent at finding and understanding the game - knew excatly when to move on to the next and when to stay put to get the best view of moving animals or hunting animals - it was GREAT. We felt we all became friends and that was nice since we spent so many hours in the car together.
The process before our safari was also top 10.... The e-mail correspondance was fast - every question was answered and alll the promises was kept.
We can only give Tanzania Specialist our ABSOLUT MOST top, top top recommadations. When we have saved up, we would for sure choose them and John-Paul for another Safari.

A Dream Safari Experience from Start to Finish
Tanzania was truly a dream come true. From the moment I was picked up at the airport to my departure, everything was perfectly organised and seamless. The accommodations were all excellently chosen, and the staff at each location were incredibly kind, welcoming, and helpful. The food each day was amazing—even the lunchboxes included a great variety of delicious options.
A special mention goes to my safari guide, Elishita. He was an outstanding driver and exceptionally knowledgeable about every animal we encountered. His ability to spot wildlife from incredible distances was truly impressive—a skill I wish we all had! Thanks to him, I was lucky enough to see an incredible variety of animals, including the Big Five, which was a truly unforgettable experience. Elishita made my safari even more special, going above and beyond to ensure every moment was memorable. You could tell he genuinely loves what he does, and that made the trip even more meaningful.
I cannot recommend Tanzania Specialist highly enough. I will definitely use the company again when I return to experience the dry season.

African Safari = Great & Stressful!
I was torn between a 2 and 3 star review because there were many positives on our 3 week trip to Kenya, Tanzania and Zanzibar.
The positives: Our guide was fantastic and really made the safari portion of the trip! All the people who were scheduled to meet us somewhere (like at the airport) and take us somewhere were there on time which made all the logistics manageable. Experiencing the magnificent animals in their natural habit was truly awe-inspiring.
The negatives: Communication, communication, communication. They say pole pole in Africa and that is true for anyone at Tanzania Specialists getting back to you, even when the situation calls for a quick response. Their painfully slow response time caused much frustration and stress when things had to be changed during the trip. One example is we were scheduled to finish our safari in Southern Serengeti. However, the rainy season started early this year and several guides and customers coming to Central Serengeti from Southern Serengeti told us the roads were virtually impassable, people were getting stuck for hours, and not to go there. So, we wanted to pivot our plans because it seemed silly to try and go South with the reality of the conditions, and we had to fight tooth and nail with Tanzania Specialists to make this change. It seems they would have preferred we waste hours, if not days, trying to get there and then back to Central Serengeti since that's where our plane was departing from. They finally acquiesced after much unnecessary yelling and upset, and then proceeded to book us into a lodge that was only half finished without telling us that in advance. It was completed enough that our stay was fine, but it felt like they put us there because they got a deal on the place.
Additionally, I would skip the suggested trip to Zanzibar. We went both to Pemba Island and then Zanzibar and wished we had gone home at the end of the safari the whole time. It also would have been helpful information, as a Christian, to know that it was Ramadan in the mostly Muslim Zanzibar. We were expected to adhere to their strict rules of no public drinking (not even water), eating or displays of affection between sunrise and sunset. We did a walking tour of Stone town and it was so hot I thought I was going to pass out and couldn't even sip water.
I think the pre-planning information could be much more detailed with helpful information that would have made our trip much smoother, especially for a first-time trip to Africa. One thing they don't tell you is to bring a lot of US $1.00 and $5.00 bills because the tipping doesn't stop. We only brought $20.00 bills or larger and that was a mistake.
Also, look closely at the distances between camps or lodges (if you're moving around a lot) because we spent many hours on the road just driving from one lodge to the next. Same goes for times of bush flights. Look closely and plot out the timing so you're not having to get up in the middle of the night.
Overall, it was a trip of a lifetime, but for the money we spent, we think there's definitely room for improvement.

We understand that having dedicated support on the ground is crucial for quick responses, and we acknowledge that we fell short in this area during your trip. Our ability to support guests is sometimes influenced by the responsiveness of our local partners, including accommodations, and we appreciate your understanding of these factors.
We’re pleased that the flexibility of the accommodation options helped adapt to weather conditions and that your overall experience remained memorable. Apology on how the selected alternative accommodation made you feel but we would like to mention that based on situation we had by that time we had no other better option that the offered one. As mentioned in your initial proposal, Tanzania’s climate features distinct wet and dry seasons, with the rainy season sometimes being unpredictable. While we always advise travelers on these conditions, nature’s variability is beyond our control. We hope you still enjoyed the enchanting sights of Africa’s rains.
Regarding currency and tipping, we usually recommend on the Travel guide document bringing a small amount of cash from home and withdrawing local currency upon arrival, along with tipping local staff where possible to show appreciation for their service. We apologize if this guidance was not sufficiently clear or caused any inconvenience.
Your insights about travel distances and flight timings are very helpful, and we will review how we communicate these logistics to better assist future travelers in planning their journeys to avoid middle-of-the-night departures.
With regards to Zanzibar visit we sincerely apologize for not providing sufficient information about the local customs, especially during Ramadan, which are deeply rooted in the culture and beliefs of the local community. We understand how important it is for travelers to be aware of these practices to ensure a respectful and enjoyable experience.
Lastly, we sincerely apologize for any frustrations caused by delays or support issues during your trip. However we did our best to accommodate your requests despite of the challenges that were beyond our control. Our goal is always to provide comprehensive support and a seamless experience, and your feedback will help us improve in this area.

Epic Adventure
Our Guide, Moses, was able to point out so many animals and birds. He was so knowledgeable about everything we wanted to know about. He even made sure we saw the big 5! Even when our truck got stuck for 4 hours in the mud after an evening of torrential rainfall,he was able to keep us on schedule so we didn't miss out on anything! We were initially hesitant about…
We were initially hesitant about dealing with a travel company so far from us ( we’re in Australia) , but it was this decision which made this one of the most amazing holidays we have ever had. We have been to over 60 countries, and this ties for first place with our travels to Cuba !
Our guide Frank , went over and above on our holiday, mixing a combination of relaxation and excitement in every day. His knowledge and humanity towards the people in Tanzania was top notch. His information about anything and everything we asked was met with a descriptive knowledgeable response.These people sure know how to host travellers.
If I could give it 10 stars I would. If you’re thinking about going, you absolutely cannot go past Tanzania specialists. The 5 stars rating is absolutely earned.
