The titles that Tapas contracts are usually pretty good, but they can mostly be found on other platforms that do a better job of moderating comments. It’s 2026. I shouldn’t still have to read a comment about assault on minors by a user whose name is a reference to vile content about children on a romance fantasy comic. The lack of moderation or oversight makes this platform less than welcoming to anyone who just wants to read. And since Tapas doesn’t give users a way to easily report heinous content or to silence comments altogether, there are users on here with inappropriate leaving inappropriate comments and the rest of us are powerless to deal with them. It ruins a reader experience. If you just want to read, there are way better options—at better prices, too.

I read a lot of comics from a variety of providers on my phone. Tapas is one of the apps I keep but it is not my favorite for a couple of reasons: 1. There's not a lot of purely free content, not enough compared to its competitors. 2. They keep raising the price of their comics in ink over time, year over year, to the point that series are much more expensive than they used to be. 3. The quality of their stories, and this is subjective, but I feel that in general their comics have not been as good in recent years as they used to be. Tapas still has some standout titles that are exclusive to the platform, but a lot of the more recent content are repetitive same-same storylines that aren't worth the price of admission, IMO.

Love some of the stories that are available. Would like it more if it wasn’t so much.

Some stories can be read for free one episode a day or bought per episode or bundle. When I was in the middle of 120 episode story, I bought a bundle of 20 episodes. The money was gone, but the next 20 episodes remained locked. Upon my inquiry it turned out that the system unlocked some random episodes at the beginning of the story instead of the next twenty. Full refund was denied. Scammy practices.

Has lots of nice stories but they have started removing free features. In order to read episodes, you need to unlock them with ink and you get ink buy even buying it or getting it from free rewards, but now they have removed 90% of the ways where you can get ink for free, leaving you with the only option to buy ink with money which not everyone has.

Overpriced and underserviced. When certain comics go on seasonal break, they don't bother to acknowledge the original team at all, instead patting themselves on the back for a job well done. Way to ignore the people who's work you bought and translated to sell at price gouging prices. But considering how overpriced your ink is, the fact that you only care about yourselves is pretty evident.

It's a very nice place to read really good stories which are wonderful and creative

But there's a slight problem. The problem is that most of the better comic have chapters which cost money per chapter instead of money per book which gets very very overpriced especially with filler chapters
